Dru finished off the carcass in the tree she'd found the thief in, taunting her with her shiny. Now she needed to figure out how to warn all other thieves off, keep them from even trying to steal from her. Or those she loved, because she'd hunt those death wishers down as well.
She looked down and realized, she'd climbed higher than she usually did. Getting down was going to take longer, and she didn't want to carry a dead monkey in her mouth the entire time. Dru dropped the lifeless body, watching as it hit branches and twigs on the way down, before starting to make her own way down the tree.
Maybe she'd find a way to pin the carcass to the hollow log to warn others away. Not that she'd be using that hiding place ever again. She was going to have to find another hiding place. Something not so in plain sight. Maybe she could find a hollow rock that she could bury or something like that.
Once on the ground, Dru stared at the thief, tilting her head trying to think. Maybe hanging it from a tree? By its tail? Or its tongue? She sat on her haunches and pictured warnings. She should decide what she was going to do now so she'd have some time to decide where to hide her treasures.

 [His items: xXx]
He was alone, which was uncommon for a pirate of his stature. He had joined the ranks of Pirato, though there was talk that he would be transferred to Nemeios's ranks along with his brothers. He was proud of his heritage, something that not many people could say. His mother was a proud corsair, his siblings all members of the best crews. Though his mother getting it on with Nemeios was rather awkward. She had just birthed her second litter, and they were a motley crew of cubs that was for sure. All piratelings and just a tad too over the top for him. One of them especially, Jakk, annoyed the hell out of him. He was happy that at least mother had raised him right, even if her second litter he couldn't really say that about.
He yawned, his sapphire eyes glittering with the sunshine that beamed down against his back. It was warm, and he liked the feeling of it on his face. Things were decent enough, and he knew that life was worth living.. Though he couldn't help but think of Ormarr. After their last meeting, he had sworn he was in love with her.. But that was wrong, and she was so far away now in the lands of the Stormborn, he had been forced to try to move on.

Dru nodded to herself at her decision. She'd nail the carcass to a tree closer to their den. She'd have to leave it behind once Mom decided to move on, but at least the other shiny thieves would be wary of the place. And it would send a message that a predator chose to waste the meat of the prey rather than eat it.
Grinning, Dru secured her treasured shiny in the make-shift bag and scooped up the stupid dead monkey. She started to trot in the direction of home. She knew she'd traveled a bit to find the shiny thief, but she hoped she'd be back at the den in a matter of hours. At least before mom found out she had wandered too far from the den. If she was lucky.
Spotting the grown lion basking in the sun, Dru didn't know whether to approach him or hide. Hiding didn't sit well with her, but she knew that she wasn't near enough to mom and the den to be truly safe. But she was surrounded by trees.
She climbed one of the higher trees in the area, going for the high ground, tucked her bounty and treasures into the place where the branch grew from the tree and found a baby coconut. She tossed it at the lion, not aiming at him, but close enough to get his attention. "Hello."

The last thing he had been expecting was a coconut falling from the sky. He frowned, and looked in the direction where it had come. He didn't see the little creature at first, though once he caught movement, his eyes directed to her. He arched an eyebrow, obviously curious. Though he was finding when he was curious, that was when he got in the most trouble. He sighed, and turned to walk towards the tree that she had taken refuge in. When he got to the tree trunk, he looked up, his eyes locking with the Leopons.
"May I be askin'.. just..why ye be throwing coconuts at me head?" He asked, taking a paw and pointing to his head for effect. He looked more like a roman god than a pirate crewmember. But he was proud of his large size, and elegant items.

Dru bit her lip to keep from laughing. He had a funny way of speaking, but it wasn't her place to judge. At least that was what her aunt always told her. "First: if I was attempting to hit your head, sir, I would have. I have very good aim. A minor skill. Second: I obviously threw the coconut to catch your attention. It's not the smartest thing to do to approach a strange stranger of a lion now is it? And I'm not stupid. Maybe not as smart as my mom, but still not stupid. I'm not a monkey. Third: considering the size of you, I doubt a baby coconut would have put a dent in your mane, never mind your head." Dru wrapped her tail around her treasure trove just to make sure no stupid dirty monkeys would attempt to steal from her again.
Dru took in the strangers things that adorned himself and approved. He wore his treasures. Maybe she should wear the monkey's hide or bones as necklaces? That would be interesting. "I am Dru. You appear ... different. Where are you from, stranger?"

She listed off her reasons of why it didn't matter that she threw the coconut, and why. He shrugged, though he did narrow his eyes a bit as his blue orbs met her own.
"But what if I had been a climbin' type? Then your throwing the coconut.. It wouldn't have mattered, aye?" He asked, waiting for her to respond. His tail twitched behind him in an irritated fashion, but he really wasn't as annoyed as he could have been. If anything this gave him something to do for the moment.
"I am Catfish." He didn't announce his real name, and it wasn't that he was hiding it from her. He was simply used to being called his pirate name since he was now all grown and ready for duty.
"I be from the Maestros Del Mar. We are pirates." He grinned proudly.

Dru looked the lion up and down. It was doubtful that the big male could climb up her tree. "You're too big. I could see you knocking the tree down more than climbing it. Trees are sensitive and they don't take to very big beings climbing them or knocking against them. That's why elephants don't climb into trees, but they can knock them over. But even if you could, there are plenty of trees to jump into if you did start climbing. It would have been dangerous, but interesting and fun."
Dru squinted at the male's funny name but tilted her head as a thought struck her. "Can you swim? I can climb trees but swimming is hard for me."
Blinking in confusion, she laid herself down, spreading her weight out on the branch. "What are pirates?"

She wasn't completely a cub, but she still had the mindset that told him she was rather young. When she told him he was too big, he flicked back his ears ready to be offended. However he let it roll off his back and nodded.
"Aye, you likely be right." He said, and nodded again. Looking at her sprawling out along hte branch, he couldn't help but wonder what type of hybrid she was. He normally didnt see many hybrids, even if they were completely accepted by the pride should they pull their weight.
"A pirate does what he wants, when he wants. He gets all the shinies and loot he could want. It really be a good life. Won't hear me complaining." He grinned.
"Aye, of course I can swim. I be a pirate!"

Wow. She ... she kind of fit that description rather well, didn't she. "I collect shinies and loot. But the stupid monkey tried to steal it and I had to hunt it down. Now its carcass is going to be a part of my loot. But I'm not a pirate."
He really was bigger than she was by a lot but then she was part leopard and leopards were smaller than lions, so that made sense, but. "I don't know if I'm big enough to be a pirate. Are all pirates like you?"
"All pirates can swim? That would be pretty cool. I'd like to learn that as well. Maybe hide my shinies in a small pond that i can swim to the bottom of. Monkeys can't swim so they can't steal them there."

"I would kill anything that tried to steal my shinies. However we make a living by stealing them." He grinned and nodded at her. Though he wasn't normally as social, he had already subconsciously decided that he would talk to the girl. Maybe he would be enlightened or something afterwards. Worth a shot right?
"Well I not be sure if all pirates can swim. However tis a good talent to learn." He said.
"We even have hyenas as pirates. Ye dun have to be large, however you have to be fearless. Do ye think ye got what it takes, youngblood?" He asked, arching an eyebrow.

Dru smiled knowingly down at the male. "I certainly do, but are pirates ready to handle me?" She laughed even as she thought about everything. She didn't think she could steal like a monkey did. It - it didn't seem right. But then there is something to be said about finders keepers. And she didn't see anything wrong with others stealing, as long as it wasn't from her.
"Tell me about the pirates. I haven't heard anything about them at all. Swimming, hyenas, fearlessness. I bet it's very exciting!

"I assure you, no handling has to be done, lass." He smiled, but nodded his head. He turned in the direction of home, and winked at her. If she wanted to know about the lands, well she just needed to come find out herself. He wasn't sure if she would, and given she was young he didn't expect her to follow. But there was no way to describe the life of a pirate. He simply did what he wanted, when he wanted, but he had the support of a crew that would die to protect him. Though he would die protecting them if the situation called for it.
"Tis exciting indeed. But ye shall be able to see first hand. It be a bit easier than describing."

Dru thought that sounded wise-ish. So priates were rather smart. At least this one was. "I guess that's true."
She looked in the general direction of where he indicated his pride was. It was almost in the same direction as her family den. "Can you answer one question, though? Do you have a lot of monkeys?"

The pirates really weren't known for their intelligence, however that didn't negate the fact that a few of them really were smart. Their lack of showing it did wonders for expectations around each other.
He looked back at her, his blue eyes catching hers and winked with a small grin tickling his maw. "We be seeing monkeys now and again. I hate monkeys. Ye be free to kill 'em." He chuckled, and turned back in the direction of home.

Dru tail swung belong her and her branch. Free to kill the monkeys that were thieving. And if they had a lot of them ... She could use carcasses, skulls, and impale others.
She committed the direction the stranger walked in to memory. At the very least, she'd be visiting the pirates in the future, they seemed like a good bunch, hating monkeys and all.
