With one Moon hunter down in meeting his division, Dakota had thought it fun to find the other new trainee he had heard in the classroom. His name was Ryan, right?
Yeah a shorty! He almost didn't make it in the Sahara.
Yeah, and you never know what might happen in the future.
He shook his head at the weapon as he looked around. Maybe he should start in the training grounds? He headed that way as he looked for the other boy.

Ryan froze.
Blinked, and then sneezed, before he continued on with his practice.
:Hah! You sneeze like an old man!:
Shuddap! He grumbled mentally at the weapon, striking his claws against a large tree that he had come to use as his training dummy. He didn't dare ask to use any of the actual training dummies. Not right now anyways and he didn't want to bother anyone so soon after the mission for a friendly spar.
The weather was getting colder and the sky was just miserable. Really, how long would this gloomy weather continue? It had been raining since he had woken up back on the cove!
If it starts to downpour I'm gonna' be pissed... he muttered
:Complain later! You need to train--even if you are just using the tree as scratching post... You were quite disgraceful back in the Sahara. I can't believe you allowed yourself to get hit that many times---by your own team too!: Locke almost cackled at Ryan. Now that he knew his partner was going to be a-okay, he was back to his usual annoying self.
Oh yeah, I just happened to let that thing---and everyone else to hit me!
He struck the pole again, this time trying to get back at Locke.
:....If you hit it like that, you're going to end up spraining your wrist...:
Ryan didn't answer, he only rolled his eyes and gave an exasperated sigh.

Dakota didn't have to look hard to find the little shorty. In fact, he had take walking past the meeting rooms, with clear windows out to the training grounds to see the all familiar white and gold coat laced with his division's symbol.
He exited the facility, making his way slowly over to the other boy and choosing not to comment on his scratching post. He looked all adorable there, clawing at the wood. though it looked like he had made progress to slowly scratching the tree down.
"Yo. Ryan! What are you doing man? Why don't you get a dummy?" He came over, clearly deciding that the boy needed help regardless. "I don't think the tree will appreciate you hacking at it...and its no good if you hurt yourself." He cocked his head.

Ryan had all his concentration on the tree. He didn't hear the footsteps of his fellow division mate approach, nor did he sense it. In fact, he didn't realize he was there until he spoke, causing him to leap forward with a start and latch onto the tree with all his claws.
:Hah! You handled that well.: Locke gave him a mental snort.
S-shut up Locke! I was just startled is all! He hissed back, annoyed.
"Don't want to ask for a dummy. At least, not until I get a better handle on these..." He shrugged. He just had a feeling he'd get chewed out for wasting any equipment and without improving at all.
"I don't think anyone will miss this tree anyways. It's already on it's last legs." He pointed to the massive limb that had broken off, exposing the inner part of the tree that was slowly, but successfully, killing it off.
"Why are you here anyways..?" He asked.

Dakota raised an eyebrow at Ryan's jump and latch on to the tree. In his mind, he instantly thought of the Fat Puss in boots from Shrek movie of his childhood, when Puss like....slid down the scratching post...Ryan almost did a similarly eerie thing.
His eyebrow heightened when Ryan hissed and he could only imagine that he must be talking to his weapon.
"Uh Ryan?" Dakota stared at the other boy. "What the hell are you doing bro?"
He knew though, as soon as the words we're out of the boy's mouth why the other felt the way he did. Poor Ryan hadn't stood a chance during the mission but...then again, not a lot of the trainee's did. "I see? So your taking it upon yourself to take it out on the tree." He grinned before looking over the other boy's shoulder, at the dead part of the tree before shrugging.
"Aren't you more worried about what it would do to your weapon? They gave us the dummies just for that as well." Dakota crossed his hands over his head, resting them on the nape of his neck. He had a odd orange twinkle in his eye as he looked over at the equipment room.
"I was going to grab one myself, Me and Chama could use a little practice with our Barriers after all." He looked at Ryan before sighing, "Sorry I failed to get you covered for that."

"Nah, not too worried, Locke seems more durable than most weapons I've seen or heard of." He held the gauntlets up for the other trainee to see. The fine points of the claws still as sharp as when he first got them. "I'm guessing it'll take a lot more than a tree to wear them down." He shook his head when the dummies were brought up again.
"Its more that I don't want to get in trouble over something like wasting perfectly good dummies... Because with my luck, that's probably what would happen..." Then again, same could be said for this tree.
He gave the tree another strike, before he turned to look at back at Dakota. This time with an arched brow.
"What are you talking about? You tried. That's more than I could ask for. Its not like you intentionally didn't get the shield up." The fact that Dakota was feeling bad over this and apologizing made Ryan feel worse than he already did.

Dakota nodded as he looked at the gauntlets. Chama had been the same, he had made sure that his weapon could withstand certain attacks was surprised by her durableness and the fact that she never went dull.
"Funny how we seem to get in trouble over everything." Dakota sighed before shrugging, "Oh well! Trouble is my middle name, I'll take the heat should anyone see us "wasting" dummies." He grinned as he quoted the words with his fingers. Looking over to the supply closet it again.
"Eh but still, It'd be better if me and Chama could do it a little quicker and a little neater." He thought of how he had scrambled over to Ryan, he hadn't handled that battle very well did he? He had been sloppy, relying on Chama alone to do the work. No he needed to practice.
"Better idea that'll help both of us Ryan!" Dakota clapped the boy on the back, "How about we use the same test dummy. I'll practice my barriers and you can practice your attacks....It's a win win and we don't waste two dummies instead one."

"I guess we can just consider this like hell week... Only longer..." He shrugged. It certainly felt like it, but perhaps this was how they treated all their trainees?
"Is it now?" He snorted and turned to lean on the very tree he had been abusing, eying the other boy curiously as he went on about his shield.
"I suppose that's true and that sounds fun and all, but... I don't think you'd be able to get your weapon charged off a dummy... I hear it requires... uhh..." What was the word again, oh yeah. "Fear." He finally answered. "We could just try and practice fighting. You know, get a little more of a feel for battle, that way maybe we won't panic as much during the real deal..." Yeah. Like that would solve the problem. He was pretty sure seeing anything like that monster back in the Sahara would still freak the hell out of him each and every time it showed it's ugly face.

"Haha Hell week?" Dakota cocked his head before shaking, "I think this will be Hell for a while now you know?" He joked back, thinking of what they had gotten themselves into after all.
"Yeah well....Chama is suppose to engulf you for protection. I can't broadcast that message to other peeps, especially if I want to lay the barrier quietly so they don't target the person getting it." He sighed, "that and...I prefer...to be...not so flashy." He joked, "Unless it's in front of the Ladiessssssss."
"Oh....Right." He eye'd the other boy before grinning. "So should we Spar then instead?"
"No really...Do you want to duke it out?"

Ryan shrugged. With their luck, this little hell would last as long as they were breathing. However long that would be...
:If you think like that, you're sure to lose sooner or later.:
"Makes me hope our division leader isn't quite as... difficult as that one for the death division." He muttered. "I'm assuming you haven't met him--or her yet either?" He asked, curious to see if Dakota knew anything more about their division leader than he did. It was strange that they still hadn't them about... Maybe the moon division didn't have a current leader.
"Spar sounds fun. Moving targets are better than any tree or dummy, I'm sure. Though..." He paused looking at the sky and frowned. "Maybe when its not as... damp?" He asked. "If you come and find me another day, I'll gladly take you up on your offer. Just not today... I'm already soaked from the rain..." He pulled at his sopping wet hoodie that clung to him.

He looked up at the sky and clearly debated just what he asked. Chama would be no good in a spar in the rain after all.
"I wonder." He sighed as he thought of just who their division Leader is. Didn't they meet her once? Maybe...Maybe not after all. "Nah, The only one I've seen from afar is of course Caelius." He grinned, "I feel like saying his name is like saying Voldermort from Harry Potter. It's going to summon-"
Dakota gave a swivel of his head behind him before sighing in relief. Thank goodness. No death leader with a serious hard on for yelling and other badassery.
"Haha alright! Come collect me when you wanna spar then! I'm down for whenever!." He grinned before waving his hand in a salute, "And ditto, any more wet and Chama will get pissed."
She screeched at the mention of which had him wincing.

"I think, if I re-call, that Dr. H guy is the life division leader. Or something close to that." He was sure Dakota knew who he was talking about. After all, H was the maniac that blew his assistant's brain out over the wall. A guy like that... It made him wonder, how in hell people like him were put into power?
He gave the other trainee a confused look when he looked over his shoulder, shortly after mentioning the characters name.
"Never read the books, or watched the movies." He admitted with a shrug. "Though I've heard enough from other people to know you're talking about the bad guy." He grinned and moved past Dakota and stopping again when he mentioned his weapon's name and dislike of water.
:Fire elements are such babies when it comes to weather.: Locke teased.
"Doesn't sound like it'll be worth it then. Or not worth it right now anyways..." He shrugged.
"And thanks! I'll be sure to do that!" He gave the moon trainee a nod, before he turned and headed back towards the direction of the dorms; abandoning his 'scratching post' for the time being. He was sure to come back to reclaim it at some point, but right now, he wanted dry clothes.
