As you all should know by now, Bethesda does two things: Make fantastic RPGs, and release said RPGs buggy as hell. In light of this I think a Bug Report is in order. The idea being that you can post your experiences with Bethesda's Bugworks so that others don't have to feel your pain.
I get to start us off with a word of warning about the named quest "Repentance". I have absolutley no idea what this quest is about because I am an intrepid mountaineer. I was scaling the cliffs south-west of Riften when I came upon a tower called Darklight Tower. Atop the tower were a Hagraven and a hag or two who were easily dispatched. I then decided to be a trend setter and take the tower from the top! As it turns out this was a no-no from the beginning. As I, the smart, handsome, and devilishly clever Altmer that I am, descended the tower from the top, slaying hags and Hagravens alike, I chanced upon a barred portcullis that had no opening mechanism. Perplexed, I moved back up the tower and as I moved through the load screen to the next floor I was apparently joined by a young witch who was apparently familiar with me despite the fact that I had never seen the girl in my life. Turns out that I had accidentally fatally derailed a quest by simply being an out of the box thinker.
So, bottom line: Don't go into Darklight Tower from the top and don't kill the people on top of it either. M'kay? M'kay.

Fast Travel is sort of bugged. When you click somewhere, like Winterhold, and thinking "Kay, I'ma gonna go into the college and herpity derp", when right when you spawn, the corpse/corpse's of whatever you killed suddenly spawns with you. I had this problem with Dragons, Bandits, and those random incounters when people call me a "milk drinker".
I think the corpse's could be bugged, or the ground is anyway. When ever I kill something, once in awhile, the corpse "dips" into the ground, then gets spat out again.
Funniest bug ever. When I first started the game, I wanted to explore ALL the things. I saw a mammoth skull symbol in my compass, and said to myself "That's a giants camp. If I remember watching the IGN demo walkthrough, Giants were peaceful, up untill you either attack one or kill their pet mammoth." So I thought i'd go see what they were doin, when they all looked at me with weapons drawn. I thought "Kay, this could be bad. On the other hand, they could initiate dialog if I get closer." So, like an idiot, i walked toward them, only to recieve a giant bone to my face. I insta-died like i was hit with the Fist of the North Star, then the bug happened. Instead of being flattened to the ground, I went flying all the way to the top of the sky-box's. Pretty mad afterwards, as i had forgotten to save.

That last ground glitch reminds me of another one. If you happen to be carrying an object with your crosshair instead of your inventory, be extra carefull to not drop it whilst going up stairs, because the stairs will eat them.

"The only thing I've come across is a farmer in the Whiterun area who has manage to wedge himself into the ground and duplicate himself. TWICE. So... there's three Louis... I forgot his last name... standing/wedged in the middle of the road. And at one stage while I was wandering around the Rift area... he... ran past me randomly. It's nothing game breaking, but when I first saw the two of him it was amusing. When I came another time and there were three of him I flailed my arms and accused him of attempting to create an army of himself. Somehow I don't think it the dragons I should be afraid of...
I've THOUGHT about trying to kill off the extras. Next time I get on I might, and I'll tell you guys what happens."

I've found a glitch with the quest "No One Escapes Cidhna Mine". After breaking out of jail, do not kill any guards. They'll try to arrest you afterwards for the whole cunspiracy thing except they can't cuz they already did. The dialogue will repeat but you'll never go to jail. I'm crying... EDIT: There's a fix for it on PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game here.

The Companion's Quest line glitched majorly for me...and made Vilkas disappear. He just 'ffing disappeared. And it happened because the game mapped another quest to the same dungeon (Driftshade Refuge, with the misc quest the Helm of Winterhold). Once I figured it out, went in and got the helm - invisible potions till the cellar, because once you open a chest it wears off, then grabbed the helm and booked it through the nearby shortcut.
When I did this Vilkas ran through the speech back at Jorrvaskr and glitched through part of a repeat speech. Then we went to kill Silver Hand members and everyone was happy.
Seriously though? This game glitches one of the main faction questlines? Not impressed.
Also, I fall through the game. A lot. Once the sky broke. And I've seen a few mammoths fly through the air like dragons. A couple quest in my misc folder are impossible to complete because I found the end objective before talking to the quest giver but it's the Companions one that irritates me.
Edit: And once I killed a dragon and it did not fade to ashes and give me its soul though I grabbed its scales and bones.

Except I did it by waiting along time and then getting the guard inside to try and arrest me. He did the initial arrest speach and then after that he did normal arrest speech... Cost me 10000 gold to get me off the hook though... Might be less for you, or you could just serve time.

Discovered my second major glitch thus far yesterday. Kinda ruined my four hour experience, or at least the first three hours. I got so annoyed. Luckily thus far I haven't seen/had any major glitches with the exception of Markarth guards as a result of 'No one escapes Cidhna mine".
Well it started when I visited Riverwood and had a random dragon encounter, (I saved right when it started) and Alvor or w/e his name is, the blacksmith ended up dying. Well I was like no way, I want to sell crap to him, so I reload my save, THREE times after that and he still ends up dying every time, just him, so I guess some things are preset. Bummer. Anyways after the first time he died I made my way over to Dawnstar, to do Vaermina's, 'waking nightmare'. I wish I had known that particular quest is so glitchy. (Didn't find that out until I had problems and looked online) So I try to do it but apparently b/c I have a companion the dude disappears and blah blah, so I had to go to my last save which was all the way back in riverwood, (realistically like 20 gaming minutes probably) so then I fought the dragon three more times, decided to hell with the blacksmith, entered the shrine by myself and then it ended up glitching one more time! The priest glitched up RIGHT AT THE END of the quest so I reloaded and did the quest again and it worked.
Blah. I suppose I'm super lucky to be one of the people who haven't had something more major ruined, or like weeks of gaming due to a corrupted file.
Meh. But that's my glitchy store from yesterday.

So I have a major glitch to share -
Under absolutely NO CIRCUMSTANCES should you go to Japhet's Folly unless you are sided with the Empire and doing the plot specific quest. It is its own world and once you get there the game will not let you leave. Unfortunately for me I decided to go exploring and where did that take me? Yep. I lost over an hour of gameplay because I had to reload a previous save far, far away.
Sigh.

XD So another glitch to share.... I swear my playing the game for a month with no mentionable glitches is finally catching up with me all in one week. Yesterday was the third day in a row I had a problem glitch. After I caught up on what I lost I was at the College of Winterhold and finished the first quest (Exploring Saarthal) I was up in the Arcanaeum and accepted a quest from the Orc librarian and it was to find a book.... well unknown to me the game randomly selects from a list of books in a list of dungeons....and apparently the game selected a cave/ruin I had already explored, and I already had the copy of 'cleansing of the fane' in my inventory for quite some time. I had tried to sell it before but it wouldn't let me as it called it a 'quest item'. So I was like awesome I have the book already.... but the game kept telling me to go back to the cave so I went through the cave again only to find the empty chest with an quest arrow above it. I'm like seriously wtf. So I look online and find out that the moment you accept the quest from him it chooses a book and cave.....and if you already have the book you are screwed. So its a bummer that there's another quest I can't complete....no way I was going to lose hours of gameplay AGAIN for this one small misc quest. But what confuses me is that I had the book as a quest item in my inventory for a long LONG time before I even got that quest.... which goes against what is said hereso.... I'm not sure they have it exactly right. Shrug. Whatever. PS- I forgot to mention this one other glitch - the other day I was killing some giants for a bounty and a frost dragon attacked which I killed, but instead of absorbing its soul nothing happend. Even now it is still where I left it, and instead of just a skeleton, it just looks like its sleeping. And after playing the game for a month, am I the only person who hasn't had a random dragon swing by to help? Perhaps I have to get to a certain part in the main quest....shrug. Oh but I did get the bones and stuff from the dragon.

Sadly quest related bugs wont get fixed until January. sad I haven't had the book glitch happen to me yet, although I do have the glitch were all the instruments your sent to collect for the Bard Colleges are stuck in my inventory. Even though I didn't collect the drum and flute until told to do so. The lute on the other hand I found while dungeon diving and learned that it could get stuck in you inventory. Even though the quest giver will still reward you for finding them the items and quests stay stuck to you. I'v had the dragon not give up its soul and not dissolve to bones many times. And no there is only one way to have a friendly dragon swing by to help and you basically have to complete the main quest for it to happen.

ah thanks for explaining that about the dragon, I didn't realize. Gonna get the strategy guide for xmas. About the music thing....I actually haven't done anything for the Bards College except find them and receive a first quest about retrieving some item...but I do have something called "Finn's Lute" in my inventory which I have had since like early in the game...I wonder if thats one of the items in the quest you are referencing? I might start that alot later then lol. I have enough to keep me busy till january. XD
