When his vision cleared up, Deryk found himself outside somewhere. He recalled being told he'd end up in some place called Amityville Academy, but that didn't give him a whole lot of information. He was also told to listen to his weapon, but Tooley often gave vague information at best. Oh well. He had a mission. He had to deal with it.
It was a gloomy place, but he supposed that was to be expected. It kinda poked at his nerves a bit. The light mist rolling off the grounds, with dead trees around. Looking down, he saw that his skin was kind of dark blue. Almost black. He had a nice set of claws.
Looking around, he also noticed that he had a rather large set of wings. Cooooool. He wondered if he could actually fly with those. Maybe he shouldn't try right now.
Slowly, he felt his face and head, finding a fairly pointed chin, as well as a set of horns upon his head.
Tooley urged.
Slowly, he made his way over. It felt kind of weird to be moving around in this body. Peering down at the water, he jumped back a bit when he saw his reflection.
Tooley just laughed at him.
Shaking his head, he glanced up and around. There were a few buildings around. It looked more or less like a normal school campus... only creepier. Off in the distance, he saw a skeleton walking about with some books, which was just.. a little unsettling. He wasn't so sure how to deal with this.

Said skeleton was receiving directions from a very purple looking creature, whose head was writhing unnaturally. It would be difficult to tell why from this distance, but once she had finished helping the new student to his dorm, Riley turned and caught sight of the Chernabog standing in the distance, alone. Confused. As usual, Riley assumed this was another new student, and made her way over before he could get away.
It took a minute before she was close enough to reach him telepathically, and when she did, she stopped. Good morning. My name is Riley, I am the Student Council President here at Amityville. You look lost, may I be of assistance?
He looked lost, but familiar. So familiar, it made Riley's brows furrow just slightly.

Still a little dazed from suddenly showing up here, Deryk almost didn't see the purple thing approach him. When he did, he tensed up a bit.. .and when he heard a voice in his head that wasn't Tooley's, he actually jumped, not expecting that. Turning more towards the creature with what appeared to be tentacles on her head, he couldn't help but stare as she had no mouth.
It was like she was some whacked out Asari.
"O-oh uh Hi!. Ahem. Hi. Yes. I'm Derykion," he said, trying to make his name sound more demony. He had no clue if she'd buy it. Oh man, what was he supposed to do?
"I'm uh... bit lost. Lost school supplies. Er.. do you know where the school bookstore is? ... Does the school have a book store? And uh.. nice.. to meet you Riley? Ma'am? President?"
Tooley giggled and shook her head within the recesses of his mind.

The voice, the stuttering, the insecurity - none of it matched this broad, handsome, powerful looking demon in front of her. It was wildly jarring. She blinked quite a few times, before she held her hand out to him with the palm facing up.
Of course I know where the supplies store is. I would be happy to show you the way, if you wish, ah, Derykion. She gave him a slight nod, and waited for him to take her hand. This way.
Where had she seen him before.. this was going to bother her all day, she could already tell.

Clearing his throat a bit, Deryk took in a deep breath as he tried to calm himself. He was probably being too nervous or something. Right now, he was in the body of a badass demon, right?
"Ah. Thank you. Much appreciation to be had," he said before glancing down at her outstretched hand. With a sort of nervous grin, he took it. Oh god he hoped she couldn't like read his mind or anything like that. His cover would be SO BLOWN.
Though, it was kind of interesting to see that these creatures had a student council. He wouldn't have guessed it from the big monster zombie thing he fought not too long ago.
All those bodies...
Right. Focus.
"Just arrived today. Been disoriented with everything so far."

Riley gave the boil a curious look, before flipping his hand and tucking hers under it, leading him forward in this fashion.
Think nothing of it. Every new student needs time to adjust, when they first arrive. Disorientation is to be expected. No one presumes you walked in with a map of the school memorized in your head, after all. She chuckled.
To your left, is the undead dorms. I just assisted another new student in, a moment ago. Your dorms are a bit farther up, on the hill there. That large building. That is, ah, where I reside, as well. Her cheeks turned black, and she narrowed her eyes at her own response. Now it was really bugging her. I'm sorry, but I have to ask - have we met before? You seem terribly familiar..

As they walked along, Deryk was slowly relaxing. He just reminded himself he needed to keep his cool. Freaking out here was not going to help him out at all. Not in the slightest.
He looked over towards the undead dorms, wondering for a moment if there were any beasties in there like the one he had seen in the desert. Actually, no. He did not want to know the answer to that. The trainee would be fine not finding another one of those creatures again if he could help it.
Turning his attention towards the hill, he stared at the rather menacing looking building on top. Well. It was menacing to him.
"Quite a place to live. All up on the hill and stuff," he commented, trying not to say anything to point out how creepy he thought it was. It was like the epitome of a haunted manor in terms of appearance. Gate out front. Up on a hill. Dark skies behind it. Yep.
Deryk soon tensed up a bit as Riley asked him if they had met before. But then, he realized that no, it was impossible for them to have met.. right? Maybe he had seen her shadow wandering around in the human world sometime, but that didn't seem likely.
He hoped.
"Nope. Don't recall seeing you before. Hadn't been to this campus before either. Er.... Maybe seen someone similar?" he offered.
Tooley sighed happily.

Maybe.. She murmured, her expression falling as he denied knowing her. It was on the tip of her tongue, and she almost felt like she'd met him at some point with Jericho and-
Her eyes lit up like stars, and then she tilted her head back in a laugh. Ah, no, how embarrassing. I have not met you before, you simply look like someone I saw in a movie. I was reminded of them when I saw you. She remembered how she had watched that movie last night, with the Movie Club. How she'd been raptured by Darkness, even in her sugar-highed state. How cruel, then, that she was simply reminded of that by this poor new student. She patted his arm and shook her head.
A simple mistake. Let us carry on. Ahead of us is the main building, and within you'll find the secretary's office, as well as the office of our headmistress, Ms. Hellma Shox. You should, ah, stay away from there unless summoned. The school store is to the left, come with me.

A movie. Deryk stared at Riley for a moment as she mentioned seeing someone like him from a movie. Did Halloween seriously get Disney films too? That seemed incredibly weird. Imagining her, skeletons, zombies, and more huddled around watching Snow White or whatever.
"Oh. Gotten that a couple of times," he replied, playing along with that.
Tentacle head and telepathy aside, he was actually glad for the little tour she was giving. Given how many things he needed, he was probably going to have to be here for several days in the least. It'd be good to know his way around. Looking ahead at the main building, he nodded at the information she gave him.
"Will keep that in mind. And thank you greatly for helping me out here."

It's nothing. She waved it away with a claw. It's what I do. I would be a sad excuse for a President if I did not help new students. Ah, here we are.
She reached out and grabbed the black, charred door of the school supplies store, opening it up and slipping her arm away from the boil. She held the door open for him, gesturing for him to enter.

Grinning a bit, Deryk paused for a moment as he saw the charred door. Did something set it on fire recently? It didn't look like Riley was all too concerned about that. Nodding to her, he peeked on inside before stepping in. Getting school supplies. This should be simple.
Wait.
He didn't have money. Though, did Halloween even have currency?
Welp. He definitely had none of that. Maybe he could just... somehow manage to steal a few things then.

As soon as they were both inside, Riley began to pluck items from the shelves. You'll need some writing utensils, books, and perhaps.. having scissors is a must just for general use, and I particularly like keeping a stapler in my dorm for paperwork.. She held the item up and looked at the boil for a moment, before shaking her head and turning dark again.
Right. Ah, let's see, did you have anything specific you needed other than the basics?

The interior of the shop seemed to be relatively normal as well. School supplies looked like the normal sort of things he'd find back at home. Quite frankly, this was all a little surreal. Perhaps this was just a dream...
And then Deryk realized how much more like the Matrix his situation was. His real body was back in a pod while his consciousness was in some other world. Maybe he could learn kung fu this way too?
"Oh. Thank you. This should do very well indeed," he said while looking down at the supplies. Four objects. Now this begged the question of why the hell Caelius wanted school supplies in the first place. Weird.
Taking the things from Riley, he turned towards the counter before feeling around for a wallet of sort. Maybe this golem came loaded. Nope.. didn't seem like it. Time to stall!
"By the way, uh.. you have some lovely tentacles," he said. Ok. That just felt weird. Granted... she did have a nice rack...

Riley put the supplies down on the counter and plucked a wrapped lollipop from the front for herself, twirling it between her fingers as he looked for his money. When he paused to compliment her, Riley's eyes widened just slightly, and the lollipop tripped right out of her fingers, clattering to the floor.
Uh. Oh. Whoops. Let me just.
She bent in and snatched it up, turning around to face the counter instead of the chernabog that looked so much like Darkness it wasn't fair. Her cheeks had turned such a vicious shade of blush that they almost glowed, and she kept her face steady pointed away from him.
Thank you. Very much. She responded. I take good care of them. Here. I think. Ah, as a Welcome to Amityville present, I will purchase your supplies for you. It gave her a perfect excuse to stay looking away from him, and Jack knew she wasn't hurting for silver seeds. This much was obvious as she slid her hand into a side pocket, and a handful of the items emerged. She counted out five of them, and placed them down on the counter.

Was she blushing? It was hard to tell when she was looking away. That and... that wasn't a typical blush color. Deryk didn't quite know how to feel about this. But hey! It worked out for him in the end as she offered to pay for his supplies. And holy s**t, she had a lot of money.
"Oh! Why thank you very much President Riley," he grinned, "Very fortunate to have such a lady to help me out. Very."
This all felt really weird still, but he had at least calmed down enough from their initial meeting to be able to do some thinking. As odd as those tentacles really were, he couldn't help but feel glad that he found someone to sort of snag onto to help him out here.
