By this point, Eva was (unfortunately) very much used to being woken up early in the morning. She had realized within a week of being here that Chara was all srs bzn about making sure that she train everyday. While Eva agreed with this--she did need to get stronger--it didn't stop the young woman from groaning every time Chara's voice suddenly rang out in her head to tell her that it was time to get up and practice.
Sometimes she really disliked the fact that her mind was no longer hers alone.
Perhaps we should work on your accuracy today, Chara mused while Eva was busy getting dressed, If you could seek out someone to spar with again, then perhaps...
Eva simply sighed, tying her coat around her waist as she moved towards the door, "That will depend if anyone else is awake at this hour,'" She replied dryly, heading out into the hall and quietly shutting the door behind her, "But I guess we'll see. If not, I can practice on the target dummies until then."

Ariane was not an early riser; she had several habits from before she signed the contract, and one of them was that she was a night owl - mornings were for sleeping, nights were for work and hunting for the supernatural with a camera in hand... Sure, her parents had been against it, but once she turned legal and moved out? Her life became her own.
Sadly, being a hunter meant that several of her old habits had to change. While she was still not an early riser, she had been forcing herself to sleep and wake up like a normal human being - sadly, she found herself wide awake, for no particular reason, at some obscene hour of the day.
"You know I don't take coffee," She groaned, turning around so that her face was buried in her pillow. She stayed there for a while before sighing loudly, grabbing Kintama's desummoned form off the table and putting on her scarf and jacket quickly, a scowl on her face; she was definitely not a morning person.
"Oh shut up," She muttered while rolling her eyes as she exited her room, closing the door with more force than was required.

Eva jumped at the suddenly slam, eyes wide as she turned to look down the hall. Wow, someone else up at this hour? That was kind of surprising! And it was a young woman as well! Hmm, maybe she should...
Introductions can wait, Eva, Chara spoke up quickly, knowing what her partner's intention was, Right now, it's time to train--
"Good morning!" Too late. Eva had already begun to head over in the other girl's direction, one hand on her hip and the other raised in greeting, "I don't think we've met yet, have we? I'm Eva--Evie--one of the new 'hatchling' trainees." She raised both hands to make air quotes around "hatchling". That was what their little group was called, wasn't it?

Cheerfulness in the morning was something she could stand, but only because it wasn't Before-level cheerfulness. She turned to face the female, frowning ever so slightly before nodding, greeting her in return, "Morning... Ariane, from the batch of trainees before yours... Strays." Sounded odd to call herself that, but she mentally shrugged.
"Up so early?" She raised an eyebrow, wondering if this was one of those really gung-ho types.

Ariane?
Something in Eva's mind clicked, and she immediately perked up. "Ariane, you said?" She laughed, the grin on her face growing even wider, "Bix mentioned you! You were on the Island, weren't you? Boss, right?"
She had definitely been an interesting girl on that Island, to say the least, and a capable leader to boot. "I'm not one of your Betas, but I...well." No hard feelings about the past, right? she hoped so, anyways. "I was an Epsilon. Bright pink team--you couldn't have missed us, especially considering how we were going at each other in the cornfields."

"Oh? He did?" She laughed, grinning before leaning against her closed door, folding her arms across her chest, "What else did he say?"
She raised an eyebrow before shaking her head, pushing herself off the door, as she shrugged, "No matter what you were before, we're all part of the same organization now..." She leaned a little to the side, eyeing the design on the back of her coat, her grin widening, "It also seems like we're part of the same faction."

"Nothing bad," Eva was quick to assure her, laughing, "I was the one to ask, actually, when he mentioned that he was a Beta. I think the only Betas I can remember clearly are you and..."
She paused, suddenly grinning. "There was...that guy that kept apologizing while attacking and kept giving everyone nicknames." He had been a weird one, that was for certain. It was like he didn't mean to hit them...and yet he did. Very hard hits as well. "Did he wake up too?" What was that nickname that he had gone by? She couldn't remember.
Her expression brightened up at the mention that they were in the same faction. "Ah ha! Seems you're right! I'll have to look to you for advice, then."

"Ha, well, you must mean our dearest Before," He was the only one who fit the description given by Eva, "He hadn't changed much - still the same as ever, giving nicknames, apologizing all the time... At least he didn't apologize to those Halloween creatures for hitting them." Which was good enough for her.
"Advice?" She echoed before laughing, "Have you met our faction leader? My advice is don't mention the hair." Now that the small things were out of the way, however...
"So, I'm assuming you got your weapon by now?" She continued, gesturing for Eva to follow as she walked down the hall, in the direction of the cafeteria, "It's probably going to be the most important thing to you, as a hunter..."
'I meant in general.'

Ah ha! Before! That was the name! ...Wait a minute.
"...He still goes by that nickname?" For some reason, she was surprised to learn this. Then again, Bix was just a nickname too, wasn't it? Perhaps she hadn't paid it too much mind because it could have passed as a unique name of a sort, but Before...
Grinning, she simply gave a little shake of his head. "He called me Effort--I hope he doesn't try calling me that here as well. I actually have a real name now." Eva was glad to hear that he was here though--even though he had been on the opposing team, he had been quite the quirky character. Hopefully she would run into him eventually.
"I've met the lovely Caelius, yes," Her voice was dry as the corner of her lips quirked up in a lopsided smile, "I've heard about the hair thing, and...yes!" Her expression brightened as the conversation turned to weapons. Raising her hand, Eva touched the clip that was, at present, holding back her bangs. "This is Chara."

"He wouldn't have it any other way," She chuckled, shaking her head before stroking her chin with a thoughtful hum; maybe it was a way for some of them to toss their past selves behind? After all, she had read somewhere that names are connected to one's self identity, or something, "Hopefully he will... I guess just keep correcting him and maybe he'll learn, if he doesn't call you by your real name."
She eyed the weapon's desummoned form, 'Hey Kintama, why couldn't you have desummoned into a form like that? That would be useful.'
"Have you tried your weapon out yet?" She asked as casually as possible before lightly touching the necklace around her neck, "This is mine, by the way. His name is Kintama."

"Thanks for the advice--I'll keep that in mind." The thing about repeatedly correcting him, made her grin a little. It kind of reminded her of...training a dog, only Before was an actual person. She didn't think that she would be having any trouble having Before call her by her name.
Hopefully.
Eva perked up at the question, but she turned to look at Kintama first before she answered, lips splitting into a grin. "Hey there, Kintama!" She grinned cheerfully, before looking back to Ariane and nodding. "Had a spar with Bix! I, er, didn't win--unsurprisingly!--but it was a learning experience."

Unfortunately, if asked, Ariane would say that Before was more dog than human - traits-wise anyway; it wasn't really an insult. Just that he was trainable like a dog, dead loyal like a dog, can't stay mad at him for long... Like a dog.
"He said hi," She grinned, mentally eye rolling. She was a little surprised to hear that Bix had already sparred with her before, but then again, Bix seemed to be very involved with hunter activities, even more so than most of the trainees from their batch; he was just very motivated... It was actually rather nice to see.
"I see, I see," She chuckled, giving a nod of her head, "Well, did you get the change to use your weapon's charged attack in that spar?"

Had Eva known what Kintama really said, she would have been...well, amused, actually. The girl definitely was the shy type--any and all comments about her boobs or anything that would make more modest girls blush would simply earn a laugh from her. Besides, "nice rack" would technically have been a compliment, right?
"Yes and no," Eva answered with a smile, reaching up to touch the hair clip, "You see, I found out what Chara could do when she was changed up, but I wouldn't really call it an attack. I think she heals." She remembered feeling that strange sensation pounding through her veins when she brushed her fingers against the crystal-top of her weapon. It had felt rather cooling--soothing would probably be a better word.
Glancing towards Ariane's necklace, she lifted a hand to point towards it. "What kind of weapon is Kintama, if I may ask?"

"Oh? That's the first time I've heard of a weapon that heals," She looked thoughtful as she filed that information away in her head; for a death hunter to have a charged attack that healed... That sounded like it would come in useful, actually, although she wondered how that worked... Would wounds heal faster or something?
"Most of the weapons I've seen and heard of have an offensive charged attack," She continued, "How does healing work?"
At the mention of her own weapon, she laughed, "Bolas, if you know what they are. Basically two balls held together with a chain in the middle."

Humming thoughtfully, she lifted a hand and tapped at her chin. How did she explain the sensation? "It kind of just feels like...something rushing through your veins, and spreading through your body, I guess?" Though since, with the FEAR shield up, it didn't really heal and injuries..."I think it just strengthens the FEAR shield and dulls some of the pain. I'd show you, but..."
But Ariane was, to her knowledge, 100% okay, and she wasn't going to whack at the girl about three times in order to charge Chara up. Not unless she wanted a spar, that was, which was ultimately for the other Death trainee to decide.
Eva couldn't help but grin as the type of Ariane's weapon was revealed. "Two balls? Something about that seems..." There was a pause as she recalled some of the things she heard the girl say on the Island, she laughed, "Fitting."
