The events of that... mission out in the desert were still rather fresh in Deryk's mind. It was hard to not think about really, after seeing all the bodies, as well as half of the hunter's body. The torso, which still lived, if even for a few more moments. It was one thing to see these things in a movie or game, but the real deal was a lot harder for him to stomach. It seemed different than from his time during his trials too.
Perhaps it was the the scent of rotting flesh that the trials didn't have. Or the general presence of rotting gore for that matter. Thinking about it too hard made him kind of sick.
Since he didn't have a computer or anything, he was finding it harder to distract himself too. And so came the bright idea to see if he could approach the Death Leader to see if he could get something to do. Yes, that would be a good thing to try in the very least. Anything to help distract him for the time being.
Maybe even something that might help him deal with it.
"Uh.. Caelius? Sir?" Deryk called out while peeking into the classroom.

'For the love of Christ,' Caelius thought as he nearly snapped his fifth pencil, 'Did Dr. H put a ******** homing radar on me again?!'
How the hell these trainees kept on finding him was a mystery considering that he had just gotten back from a rather intense mission with several Council members and then followed up with a report, and of course, more paperwork. Moody Death Hunter leader was moody. "Is there something of utter importance that requires an actual investment of my time, trainee?"
At least this one had the decency to call him sir and not 'the Death leader dude'.

He certainly didn't sound happy. Maybe he could make this quick. Fidgeting a bit, he stepped further into the room so that he wasn't just hovering or peeking into the classroom.
Deryk was trying to tread carefully, seeing how he recalled Candace's warning before. That, and he saw how he handled a few of the other trainees previously.
"Oh uh.. Was just wondering if any tasks need to be done. Assistance somewhere needed maybe?" he asked Caelius, "Sort of in some need to take mind off of.. previous mission right now."

Assistance. Please excuse the Death Hunter leader as he summarized what Derryk had pretty much said as: 'Wahhhh I am a trainee and my life is sooooo crueeeeel bawwwwww.'
"You want a mission," Caelius finally repeated, barely restraining himself from rather necessary domestic violence, "right now."
An awkward silence and a pause as the Death Hunter leader simply stared at Derryk. Perhaps the trainee just wanted a death sentence: perhaps all the new trainees did. "Very well then. I have a mission for you."
That was all too easy.
"However if you fail the mission, you will resign as a trainee as well, do I make myself clear?"
Or not.

Deryk might have made a little squeak there. Just maybe. Ok. Perhaps coming here was a bad idea. Here as in this room. He should probably have heeded Candace's warning a little more and really stayed clear of Caelius if possible. Too late now.
Cringing a little at that stipulation, the trainee nodded slowly.
"Y-Yes sir. Crystal."

A thoughtful pause, which could also be interpreted as Caelius's 'Where the ******** should I put this trainee to make sure his existence is as miserable as ******** possible' mood. Which was, it seemed these days, a lot more common than it should have been. Though Deryk surprisingly, had quite a bit of courage, considering they had not fled the room in abject terror quite yet. Or he was just stupid. Clearly Caelius was saying something wrong.
"Very well, as we are Death Hunters and none of that ridiculous healing or hacking people to pieces s**t, your mission will involve retrieving objects." The Death Hunter leader gave Deryk an even look. "You will embark on a golem and investigate Halloween, mainly a small area known as Amityville." There was no missing the disdain thick in his voice at that word. "Amityville is a cesspool of unwanted specimens, but, as the Death Division is unfortunately in charge of certain supplies as well, we have been requested to bring these following samples back. Place the contents in the capsule given to your golem, and they will be automatically transported here. I will forward them to your cell phone."
And before Deryk could even ask what the hell a golem was, Caelius gave him his signature phrase. "You are dismissed, trainee."MISSION PRP - After figuring out what the hell a "golem" is, Derryk should head over to the Golem Rental Thread and embark to Amityville. Ahh... good times! Oh yes, he does have a list now of things he needs to pick up, perhaps he could get into the good graces of students there and manage to grab some? - The List:- 1 Floresce (rare variant only) - 4 different school supplies (Haunted Book, Pen, Stapler, Scissors) - 1 ascended ghost dog - 1 student pin (any student) - OOC: Deryk NEEDS to icly come in contact with students and get cajole these items off them, it could be one student or several, whatever works. - After he is done, he can report back to Caelius in regards to mission success

Retrieving? That sounded simple enough. Deryk had done a number of similar things before... albeit digitally. Even so, that didn't really sound as bad as it could have been. Well.. outside of the whole golem thing. Wait, wasn't that was what some of the others called the doll Clarice had been in?
That realization actually didn't help him much with his confusion on that matter.
"Oh. Yes sir!" he said before rushing out the door. First step, figuring out what the deal with Golems were and how the hell to get one.

It took a bit of time, but Deryk had managed to get all the items he had been sent out to get.. plus a couple of bonuses. One of them, though, he wasn't too sure how useful it'd be. That thing being Amrita's faceplate. She had asked him to hold onto it and well.. never asked for it back. The other 'bonus' was Mitsu's cellphone number.
"I got all the things you asked, sir!" he chimed while walking on into the classroom, figuring Cael was already there.

Caelius gave Deryk a look that suggested that he might have preferred if the trainee had never made it back, for some reason, shuffling the work on his table, as if covering something up rather quickly.
"Congratulations." The tone was flat, abrupt. "You are now rehearsed in the fine art of retrieving basic objects. I hope your mission report on writing about what these objects symbolize and their purpose will be significantly more detailed."
And he simply sat there, waiting for the trainee you leave.

Well that reaction wasn't quite what Deryk had expected. He had to wonder if Caelius was ever in a good mood. He'd have to ask that to some of his peers some time.
"Er. Yes sir! Though.. I have a quick question. The fish and dog I had to fetch. What's going to happen with them?" he asked. Were they going to be dissected? Or something else?

"Fish and dog." Caelius repeated, and though his attention had focused back to his work, there was a sort of extremely awkward tension behind the mocking sarcasm. "When you are done trying to be stupider than you look, perhaps some research is due for you trainee. I recommend you spend some of your important personal time in the ******** minipet labs to see what exactly will happen to them."
Not waiting for Deryk to open his mouth again the Death Hunter looked up. "You are dismissed to work on your next little project."Blade Kuroda - Deryk has completed a PRP mission! Be sure to write in the mission report before claiming your +3 bonus rp points.
