Jack had already set Brigadier loose in the ring. After his last fight with that new comer he was hoping that the results of this bout would prove more favorable for his fighter. Not that he had to worry about whatever damage may have been done to his Mokai's ego. Brig was all fighting spirit. No matter how many losses he suffered he was always willing to get back in the ring and do it all over again.
At least this arena proved to suit the beast's ruthless style. May God have Mercy on the poor soul who entered the opposite side of the ring. Jack knew it was a fighter with experience, another female, but that was about the extent of what he knew. Truthfully he didn't much care who it was.
Pacing stiffly along the side of the ring beneath his owner's nose the cobalt Mokai's fur bristled with anticipation. He had yet to fully recover from the wounds he had received from Maurea and some would have probably considered it foolish to put him in a fight so soon--particularly on of this nature. But who gave a ******** what other people thought?
If Brigadier wasn't fighting he wasn't living. The need to vent the constantly building tension in his body made him easily agitated in a short amount of time if not permitted to fight. Like an itch he couldn't scratch it wasn't something he could control. A howl beckoned his opponent impatiently while the blood lust built in his veins, spurred by an anxious crowd. COME OUT FIGHTER!

Ai's Fighting Stats Attack: 9*3 = 27% Defense: 6% Speed: 7% Agility: 8% Intelligence: 8%
It was unusual for Ai to be brought out so late at night, especially since JB had been busy with his small child. He seemed antsy though, leading his undefeated fighter up to the compound. What are we doing here? Ai would ask, but knew it would go unanswered. The language barrier between the two beings was something the mokai hated. She just wished there were days he could understand her, and she could understand him.
Upon entering the compound, Ai looked at the small crowd that seemed to be gathering. A fight? Tonight? It was getting late, never had her owner brought her out. Her ears flickered back and forth as she was picked up and placed into the ring by JB. That too was a new feature for the human.
Golden eyes turned back towards JB as he gave her a pat, and removed her collar. “Knock him dead, Ai.” He whispered, pushing her away from him, and onto the pit.
Turning around, Ai spotted the one she assumed she was too battle. “No need to shout.” She scolded, lifting a lip in an almost snarl. “I can hear you right from here.” Something about this mokai was off. He was loud, perhaps brash. She was curious to see what exactly he had to offer for his skills.
“Well, are you going to keep a lady waiting, or shall I make the first move?” Her horn glinted in the light above as she tossed her head, the tuft of hair swaying away from her usually covered eye. She didn’t wait for him to make an answer, as she quickly hopped to her feet, charging head down at the dark male.

Turning his head sharply towards the motion in the opposite end of the pit a brow quirked at the strange sight. A pale, striped female. Well.. she wouldn't be his first. Probably not the last either, but there was something different about this one. Piercing gaze slid to the protrusion that twisted sharply into a point at her forehead.
That's new.
An augmented fighter? Or maybe she had been born that way. Perhaps he should have felt a rising sense of uncertainty about this unfamiliar situation, but Brigadier wasn't wired that way. Instead the muscular fighter twisted on his haunches welcoming the charging female as he met her head on without any further vocal provocation. There was no room for talk in the ring. Skidding to one side at the last minute he almost cut it too close as her horn shaved through his fur, grazing his injured left shoulder.

Ai cursed silently as she had just missed the male just by mere inches. She quickly aimed to turn around, but howled as she felt teeth dig right into her shoulder. Snarling, she tore her limb away from the male, feeling a bit of flesh tearing from her. She cringed at the feeling, something that was a bit new to her. Not looking at the bleeding mass of her shoulder, her eyes narrowed at the male, giving the message across to the other as ‘big mistake’.
With a low growl, the female didn’t run at the male. She sauntered over to him, circling him, observing him. She took in exactly who this mokai was. Perhaps a little inexperienced just by his reaction he had expressed earlier when her horn had almost come in contact with his flesh.
After sizing up the competition, Ai lunged for the back of the darker male’s, snapping at his neck.

Upon closer inspection he realized that her shoulders were lined with a layer of scales as well. Strange. Despite the observation Brigadier didn't bother to process it. Instead he focused on the body that danced away though the fool had left him a sizable contribution. His blood boiling with the roar that fell from the stands in response to the menacing act of ruthlessness. She seemed wary now, circling him as he threw his head violently, shaking loose hairs from the tuft of fur and flesh that lingered in his mouth. The only thing that would have been better was feeling the weight of her as he shook his opponent like a ragdoll.
Dropping the scrap upon the floor Brig watched her with a twisting head for only a few moments before the stillness left him with a stir-crazy sensation. How anyone could step into the ring and manage to resist the temptation of being as their combatant's throat was a concept that escaped his understanding. Throwing himself into her lunging attack a snarl slid from his maw as her jaws found his throat.
Mostly protected by the leather of his collar, her fangs still found his skin through shallow fur and punctured the flesh as he attacked her shoulder a second time. The wound was already open and the scent of injury beckoned him. If she crushed his windpipe he would have still been hanging on to her with jaws like a bear trap. Relentlessly single-minded.
"Back off you ******** moron! Don't let her have your throat!" Jack hollered from where he pressed hard against the wall of the pit. A scowl tight upon his jowly face. This fighter was no good to him dead and Brigadier had no head for minimizing his own injuries.

Ai could hear the commotion from the sidelines, or the human viewers. This crowd was more rowdy than the normal crowd from the compound during the day. She could hear the jaunts, the cheers, everything and anything that was coming from the people. The male, who she assumed belonged to her opponent, seemed to be one of the rowdiest of them all. She took a moment, while latched onto the other’s neck, to steal a glance at the human, and then to her own. JB stood there, calculating Ai’s move, and the attacks of the other. His eyes slightly widened when he saw the bluish mokai go on the offensive again, maneuvering in a way that his maw attached to the shoulder where her flesh had already been toward.
Ai let go of the other’s neck, wanting to twist away from the male, but find the stinging sensation of the fangs digging deep into her should something that was quite numbing. She didn’t want to pull away, the feeling of even more flesh being peeled from her body was sickening. Instead, she swung her head around, using her best weapon to ‘persuade’ the male to let go.
As soon as she felt the slightly movement from the male, she dove for his legs. She wanted to render him useless with his paws, making it difficult for him to keep balance and attempting to go for her shoulder again. She knew there would be some serious damage (if not any already), from the constant attacks on it.
“Come on Ai. Knock him down,” JB called out, not quite as loud as Jack had, but just loud enough for his mokai to hear him. “Gut him, do something to keep him down!”

Holding fast to a shoulder that packed less muscle than his own Brigadier's nostrils flared as the body caught in the snare of his teeth writhed. It was almost as if he had been pulled straight out of the wild. A feral Mokai that had been captured and tossed in the ring to cause havoc for the other, more civilized fighters. Ounce for ounce his hold on her already injured shoulder was dealing more pain than the grip she had on his throat--evident by the fact that in this battle of wills it was the female that released first.
Though she seemed to want to escape the heat of his mouth sinking like hooks into the muscle of her frame, her lithe frame couldn't find the ability to pull away. Instead a sharp jerk had that curious horn of her scything towards his face, leaving an open gash beneath his eye. One that Brigadier didn't even flinch at until the pain set in. Cringing as his hold slipped free despite his desire otherwise.
There was no time to linger on it though. The slightest retreat had his opponent on the offensive, oppressively attacking his legs in an attempt to cripple him. A few steps backwards and Brig was already tired of this, lifting a leg out of the way to hook across her neck given her lowered stance in a counter-attack, attempting to force her to the ground.
If his owner had any influence on the brute it certainly didn't show in the manner he used in the ring. Brigadier's decisions were his own and Jack was merely along for the ride.

Thoughts from previous training sessions with other mokai flit through her head, as she felt in slow motion her dive towards the paw. It was finally coming to dawn on her what kind of match this actually was. Cellen had once called it the ‘underground’ battles. He had told her that there was no mercy when it came to them. This is just how the male mokai acted. He showed her no mercy on attacks. Ai found it tough to do the same; after fighting in the legal pits for so long, there were rules she knew she just had to follow.
She found it hard breaking those rules. Though, she was realizing, slowly, that if she didn’t forget the civilized fighting manner, the chances of her not being able to walk out of here would rise rapidly.
Her pearly fangs grazed his leg as he stepped back. It didn’t matter though. She was in the perfect position that she had gotten Imnir in during their fight, where all she had to do was toss her head up, impaling the gut above her.
But as a leg came across her neck, she felt her balance swing off the ground. With one last ditch effort she raised her maw to his neck again, grabbing just below the collar of a flab of fur that swayed in the nonexistent wind. The smell of blood hit her nostrils quickly. It was something like a metallic scent one really could never get use to. Ai refused to let go of the male, without taking a chunk out of him.

Blood trickled from the lacerations that were opened by sawing teeth on his left leg causing him to buckle. Again he found himself in a situation where he should have used his left side in place of his right, but refused to for the sake of sacrificing for more power and the upper paw in the fight. No.. it wasn't even as conscious a choice as all that, it was simply the instinct that he followed. No thought involved.
Craning his jaw upward sharply to avoid the horn that swung up with her sudden motion towards his throat Brigadier managed to save himself from one hazard only to be caught by the second. Crimson painted teeth were bared against the bite that held his throat, this time there was no collar to protect him. A warm damp sensation dripped down his chest through dark fur made darker by the sticky fluid.
Choking on a breathless growl the two-tone Mokai struggled for one last dig. Forcing his jaws to close around the back of her neck as tightly as he could manage between snorting breaths to hold on til his last exhale, if that was how this fight was meant to end.

JB gripped the edge of the wall until his knuckles were turning white. He had been on edge the whole battle, and it was finally starting to take its toll on him. Part of him regretted the actions of tonight, but another part watched as a new sense of fight entered his striped mokai’s eyes, going in for attacks she normally never would before. His heart beat out of his chest as the time for the battle drew to a close. He wanted badly to jump the wall, grab the mokai male from the neck of his female (and tearing his away from the other’s in the process), collect his winnings, and go. But he couldn’t do that, not until everything was officially over.
Instead of breathing out through her nose, Ai took a few breaths through her mouth, heating up the already warm neck she clang to. Her cheeks puffed out slightly with each breath, refusing to let go, even after the male had got a hold of her neck. The two of them were in a dead lock. Not knowing what else to do, the female let go of her vice-like grip on the other’s pelt, swinging her head, cheek first, into the other, bashing the side of his face with her own.
She just needed him to let go. She had very little fight left, and only hoped this would be the last bit of it.

"Aaaaahhh Christ!! LET GO ALREADY!" This fight was over for the given the blood that was beginning to dampen the dirt floor beneath their paws. Brigadier's blood. Another loss. What the hell was going on with his fighter? Staring at the female holding on to Brigadier's neck for dear life and the taller frame of his Mokai clamped tightly to the back of her neck Jack slapped his face. Rubbing a calloused palm down the bridge of his nose and over his mouth as if in an attempt to wipe away his exasperated expression. Thick brows were knit in aggravation. "This one's going to be the end of me, I swear."
If Jack knew anything about his male it was that the brute was more than happy to die in the ring, but that wasn't exactly lucrative for his owner. With no referee to call the end of the fight it was likely he would see Brigadier's end if he didn't do something. Grumbling foul manneredly as he put out his cigar in the dirt near his foot the heavy set trainer heaved himself over the wall. He wasn't going to make any friends with the fans by interrupting the fight, but he couldn't afford to take such an expensive loss. They were going to lose the prize money anyway, obviously.
"We give!" He shouted with a wave of his hands before reaching into his back pocket for some scarred leather gloves. Getting in the middle of any fight with Brigadier was a hazard but it was often necessary given that his fighter refused to acknowledge the end of a battle.
None-too-kindly taking hold of a fistful of Brig's scruff Jack shook the Mokai's mouth off his opponent in order to buckle the muzzle he used for transport. Dragging the stubborn creature away despite his reluctance to leave the pit. "God damnit, let's GO."

JB watched as Jack jumped the wall, giving up at the last minute. He knew his mokai wouldn’t kill the other, Ai was far too sweet to consider doing such an action, regardless of the pit they were in. As soon as Jack had grabbed his mokai, JB too jumped the wall, swinging his leash rather smugly. For someone who had once been so nervous, he was glad that the match was over. His wallet thanked him too. Walking over to Ai, he watched the female be dragged just a few inches before the male had finally let her go. He waited, making sure that the other had gone a safe enough distance away, before kneeling down next to is injured mokai, giving her a few pats on the head.
“Good girl.” He murmured, slipping her collar on her neck, mindful of her injuries, and hooking the leash to it. He had to take her to the infirmary in the morning, and tell them that Inali had gotten into another scuffle with her. It was a story that they would likely believe.
They were slow to walk out of the pit, JB didn’t rush his mokai one bit. She had just won him a nice chunk of change, he didn’t mind going slow to get it.
