The Stadium
With no randomized specialty in place, the stadium is a Plain Stage, with two platforms on either side for the opposing trainers to shout their commands. Between the platforms, the concrete stadium sat, ready and waiting for the next battle to commence.

Noah was looking forward to this battle. He'd been eager to get into a stadium. While battling wasn't his specialty, nor was it something he did often, there was something therapeutic about taking Reno out and going into a battle. While he wasn't a Battler by nature, Reno was. She had a history of battles long before she was ever Noah's pokemon, making him question her age.
Age, however, didn't seem to hinder the vulpix in the slightest. As Noah climbed onto the platform on his side, he looked out towards his opponent's platform. Thusfar, empty. No worry; he was sure someone would be coming soon. He picked up Reno's pokeball, rolling it in his fingers, and smiled a little. "You hear me, Ren?" He muttered against the metal of the pokeball.
"Let's make this one count, yeah?" He briefly squeezed the pokeball, watching the other platform.

Sienna took a deep breath, inhaling the familiar smell of the stadium air. It had been so long! Lately, the bird keeper had been mostly focusing on travelling and seeing the region rather than stadium battles. Today she would determine how rusty she had become. Hopefully her pokemon hadn't.
It was Enide, her Murkrow's, turn today. Since the Murkrow was so eccentric, she rarely used her. But the travelling seemed to mellow her out a little bit and it was an ideal time to get her used to battling. It was all her team specialized in, after all. Sienna was an assistant to Luna's gym before she left to travel and bond with her pokemon.
Sienna gave a wave with her free hand to the boy on the other platform, "HELLO~!" She called out, the stadium echoing her greeting.

Noah looked up when a Hello! echoed across the platform. He grinned a little, waving from his spot. "Hey!" He danced the pokeball across his fingers, grinning a bit. "You ready?" He called, chucking Reno's pokeball into the battlefield. It bounced, once, then popped open and let the Vulpix out onto the field. Reno shook her fur out, and stood in front of Noah's perch, waiting for her opponent to come out and play.
"I'm Noah." The trainer announced, smirking a little. "This is Reno. I don't really do this a lot, it's not my thing, but... Poor girl gets antsy if she doesn't get to battle once in a while, you know!"
The Vulpix puffed up at Noah's words, letting out a smug Vul!.

((NOTE: I just am editting this in all threads. I had changed the HP system without even realizing but the changes are good so I'm keeping it. All pokemon that only have one more stage to evolve to have 900 HP, so thus your vulpix + murkrow have 900 HP :3 ))

"You bet!" Sienna responded enthusiatically. "Let's go, Enide!" She flung the pokeball onto the field; a flash of red and her Murkrow appeared, standing on the field. Enide cocked her head and stared at the Vulpix. So fluffy!
"I'm Sienna, and this is Enide. She's a little...Strange." Sienna laughed, rubbing the back of her head with a gloved hand. She smiled "Battling is definitely our thing!"
Enide clicked her beak and continued staring at her opponent. She noticed the little puff of it's chest and mimicked it, but instead amplified it and puffed out all of her feathers.

Reno jerked when the Murkrow suddenly popped out of its pokeball, and her nose twitched. Birds. Reno didn't really like birds. About as much as she liked rats and electric mice. Still, she shook her fur out, and settled into a ready stance for attack, eyes gleaming. While battling might not've been Noah's thing...
Reno was ready. At least, until the Murkrow puffed up its feathers. She blinked, momentarily thrown, and scoffed a little. Silly birds.
Noah grinned a little. "What pokemon isn't?" He replied to Sienna's quip about Enide. He left it at that, though, and looked down at Reno. She glanced towards him, then back at the Murkrow, waiting for the command.
"Alright, Reno! Start it easy. Quick attack!"
Reno heard the command, and leapt into action, running head on for the Murkrow.

Sienna laughed at Noah's reply. "That's true!"
The Murkrow stared some more at the approaching Vulpix, head still tilted to the side. She shuffled her feet a little before she remembered: she had to fight! The crow was the definition of "bird brained" sometimes. Luckily she only sustained minimum damage as she was able to take to the air before the Vulpix could hit anything vital. Mostly it hit her legs, which she didn't need anyway when she was in the air. Once airborne, Enide let out a strange squawk hiss at the fox creature below.
"With that attitude, might as well us a Snarl!" Sienna called to her pokemon.
Enide thoroughly agreed, and let out another cacophony of screeches and squawks down at her opponent, designed to lower his attack power.

Noah grimaced at the screeches and squaks thrown at Reno. The vulpix's ears bent backwards to try and avoid the sound, but the damage had been done. What little there was to be had, anyway. She shook her head, growling darkly, and waited for the command.
She didn't wait long.
"Fire Blast, Reno! Knock that bird out of the sky." Noah called, eyes narrowing a bit.
She leapt forward, sucking in a breath, and blew out nothing but fire, aimed straight at the Murkrow.

Reno's aim was dead on and Enide was struck with a fire-y, five-pointed blast. Her voice cracked as she squawked this time; she was being a bit vocal in this battle. The murkrow felt that she had been burned pretty badly.
Her trainer pondered her next move for a moment, get rid of all the status and stat changes with Haze or..."Use Psycho Shift and transfer your burn to Reno!"
Enide concentrated, feeling and memorizing the burn on her skin and then projected it with psychic energy at her opponent below.

Reno felt the burn under her fur, and whimpered at the harshness of it, stepping back and shaking herself violently. It didn't shake off the burn, however, and the damage was done. With a growl, Reno stepped forward, anticipating Noah's command with a bit of impatience.
Noah grimaced in sympathy for the vulpix; that burn would do some damage. Time to do some damage in return. "Reno, Iron Tail!"
The vulpix growled her affirmation, and ran at the bird, leaping towards the bird and swinging around to strike with her suddenly rock-hard tails.

The hit wasn't as direct as the last attack, but it still hurt like heck. Enide was taken by surprise at the how high the Vulpix could jump. She turned and looked at her trainer for a command this time.
Sienna saw her pokemon look at her for assistance and called out: "Hit her with an Aerial Ace!"
Enide did as she was told, diving into a stoop after the Vulpix, striking before the fox pokemon could land.

Reno yelped when the attack hit, throwing her balance off and landing hard on the ground. She got up slowly, wavering, and shook her head. Noah watched, biting the inside of his cheek, until Reno was up on her feet. "You okay, Ren?"
The vulpix just scoffed. Like something like that would do her in. PLZ, Noah. PLZ. Noah grinned a little, and nodded. "Alright! Facade!"
With a devious grin, Reno ran at the Murkrow, unleashing her attack and using the burn to fuel her strength.

Enide saw the vulpix approaching this time, and quickly flew up to dodge the attack.
"Good! Come back around and use Aerial Ace again!" Sienna shouted.
The murkrow looped back around toward the vulpix, and flew over her, slashing with her talons.
