I also thought it was about time we had a Doctor Who thread... I AM a giant nerd. But Doctor Who is one of my favourite things of all time... I haven't seen series six yet though, so no spoilers please!

I'm embarrassed to admit it but even though I've been aware of Dr. Who for many years I never got around to actually watching it. Until this year.. I just started watching the episodes on Netflix since they have it all on streaming. So far I really like it! The characters are fun and the dialogue is so witty. I haven't watched enough yet to tell you which doctor I like the best but I'll get back to you. lol

I got into it back in like 2007 when a friend of mine got all of the first new series on DVD from the public library.

I love both the newest and previous Doctors. The new Doctor is witty, silly, and just out in the middle of it all like he is having the time of his life withthe world ending. The previous one still had his humor, but had a little more serious streak to him as well.
One staple I have learned about the good Doctor. If you wish to travel with him, be prepared to run. ALOT! XD

gaia_nitemareleft I have to admit that I've never watched Doctor Who. I know the character but they haven't aired the series that much in here so I haven't had the chance to watch any of the episodes. The new episodes have created a much talk in the internet in general, so I might try to rent the series some where. The whole thing sounds really interesting so it would be fun to see what everyone are always talking about. xp gaia_angelright

I actually first watched them because the library had the DVDs in. I don't know if yours would. Or just download them. Or I hear it's on Netflix, if you have Netflix in Finland.

Sammirah Or you can download it. pirate Or go to one of those streaming TV sites. By the way, what other TV shows do you like? gaia_nitemareleft I could, but with the internet speed we get in this oblivion that is also called as my house, it's not worth the wait. It's much easier to pay up a bit to get it. whee Streaming sites actually work pretty well in here. I've "rented out" some online movies and it's doable all though I won't get the HD quality of course, but that has never bothered me that much. Other stuff I like... well I love science and history documents. When it comes to TV shows, then I like stuff like House, CSI, Friends. Actually, my tv show knowledge on the newest trends is not that good because we haven't owned a TV in the last 6 or so years. xd The cost of having a TV is rather big with the idiotic monthly fee we have and since I can watch majority of the stuff I want in the online stream sites (we have few good free ones) then there haven't been any need for a TV. Also, they like to show lot of re-runs and "old" stuff in here. gaia_angelright

I only watch a few shows that are actually on TV these days and the rest I download. I can't be bothered to find out when my shows are on, either.

gaia_nitemareleft Guess what?! They started to air the series again in the TV! I really like the series and even though the episodes are bit old from where the main series is now, it's still good fun! smile I'm not sure exactly what season they are airing now but I think it's the series 3 since it has the tenth doctor. gaia_angelright
