The Kingdom of Ice and Snow

The Queen of Ice
Queen Crystal Fannar of Ice is an icy beauty and ruthless combatant. She is the elder of the queen sisters. She leads the military and holds half of the Kingdom’s power—both figuratively and literally. She is the wielder of the ice scepter and is responsible for the Winter Ice.

The Queen of Snow
Queen Rosabla Fannar of Snow is the softer and younger of the sister queens. She resides over most political issues within the kingdom. She is considered to be very just and controls the other half of the Kingdom’s power, holding the scepter of snow. She is responsible for the Winter Snows.

Jack Frost
Prince Jacoby Fannar of Frost, the often over-looked brother of the queen sisters, he seems to come and go as he pleases since his sisters were crowned Queen of the Kingdom. He has no real political power; this fact caused him to lose the woman he loves and his heart to become ice. Though in the cold months, he is still responsible for the Winter Frost.

Chinook the Snow Eater
The cousin of Ice, Snow and Frost, He/She is rather mischievous and enjoys bringing in warming winds and melting winter long before it’s over because he/she thinks that it is great fun! He/She loves warmth and is on good terms with Spring.

The Land of Toys

The Nutcraker, King Hans of Toyland
King Hans is a brilliant military strategist. He runs the kingdom with the largest and most advanced military. He is at the center of most commerce and trade, his kingdom flourishes.
However, the king is a rather cold man. He married Clara as payment of a life debt towards the woman, while being fond of her he does not love her. He shows kindness towards his young daughter, Coppelia, but is still stiff, cold and militant. He does not care for Black Peter and keeps the boy locked away, as he cannot get rid of him completely and risk upsetting Clara.

Clara, Queen of Toyland
Clara was once a mortal girl, she gained her place as Queen after saving King Hans from The Rat King. Though she went home after being honored as a hero, a year and a day later the king returned to marry the young woman.
Clara is a very kind-hearted woman, she’s warm and generous. She loves her daughter dearly and Peter just as much. She is also very intelligent, being a very deft engineer; she has contributed many new ideas and technologies to her kingdom.

Coppelia, Princess of Toyland
The young daughter of Queen Clara and King Hans, she is very sweet and rather naïve—which is normal of a child her age. She likes to stay close to her parents and is usually at her mother’s heels, holding to the hem of her dress. She likes Black Peter.

Black Peter
Peter is a foundling taken in by Queen Clara right before her marriage to King Hans. The ‘Black’ of his name is a reference to his coal black skin and hair. He has no family but is fiercely loyal to his queen. However, Peter is mistreated by King Hans; because of political negotiations Peter works for Father Christmas during his holiday runs; the rest of his time is spent in the lowest level of the toy palace, shoveling coal.

The Land of Sweets

The Sugarplum Fairy, Queen of Sweets
Queen Bonnebell Chiffon Tiramisu, or Bonbon as she is known, is the sole ruler of the Land of Sweets. She has been ruling for many centuries now, and she has spent the last several years rebuilding her kingdom after a violent attack from the Rats.

Marzipan, Princess of Sweets
Marzipan is the adopted daughter of Queen Bonbon. She and her sister, Fondant, were adopted by the queen after they lost their parents to the war with the rats. She was a fairy but, lost her wings in an attack from the rats.

Fondant, Princess of Sweets
Fondant is the adopted daughter of Queen Bonbon. She and her sister, Marzipan, were adopted by the queen after they lost their parents to the war with the rats. She is a fairy but her wings are damaged from an attack by the rats.

The Rat Queen
The widow of the Rat King. Her husband was responsible for the attacks on the Land of Sweets, not for any malicious purpose but rather because they needed the land for their people. Now, having been driven out of their homes because of their loss, the queen still rules over her people. She is discontent as the Land of Sweets stole all their land at the end of the war and they’ve been driven to barren soil where her people struggle to even feed themselves.


The Kingdom of Joy

Father Christmas, the King of Christmas
Father Christmas, known by many names but prefers to be called ‘Noel’. He is the embodiment of Christmas; he delivers the toys and sweets to the children of the mortal world every Christmas. He is a very warm and kind man.
He handles all of the matters of his kingdom, in terms of trade, he lets his wife handle the rest.

Mother Joy, the Queen of Joy
A warm woman, Mother Joy is the beloved queen of her kingdom. She handles almost all of the political matters of her kingdom. She is a strong woman and will be the first to defend the kingdom if her peace is disturbed or treaty is violated. Because of this, she’s not in the favor of the Troll Queen.

The Troll Queen
The leader of the Troll people, she cares deeply for her people and only her people. She shares a connection with all of them and will go to the ends of the earth to right any wrong that befalls her people. She currently has it out for the Kingdom of Joy, after a treaty between their peoples was accidentally violated when a young troll family wandered into Joy territory and was slaughtered.


The Aurora Borealis, Land of Spirits

The Ghost of Past
The eldest of the spirits and self-proclaimed leader, she is the wisest and knows all of what has happened. She knows the shortcomings of man; every mistake ever made and has learned from it. Though, she is very old-fashioned and can be very stubborn.

The Ghost of Present
The youngest of the spirits; Present knows everything that is happening at any given time, their attention span is rather short and they can be flighty, but they want the best for everyone.

The Ghost of Future
The middle of the spirits, a mysterious figure, knows all of what shall be. Focused and driven, Future keeps rather quiet about most matters as Future chooses not to interfere with what is meant to be.

The Spirit of Spring
Known in mythology as Persephone, Spring is the spirit of everything that is good and green. She loves the life she brings and the songs of her plants. She has grown to hate the bitter cold of Winter for her beloved plants won’t sing for her, the silence has become unbearable.

Prompt One: Noel turned from the view of the kingdom to face the girl Persephone. "Yes it is quite a spectacle. My Joy knows how to host a party" he responded, returning the smile. "You must be cold, do come in from the balcony. We can whip you up some warm eggnog or cocoa if you please." He lead the girl to the balcony door. "If yo do not mind my asking, what beings you here? Have you come to enjoy the holidays?

Prompt Two: Father Christmas stood, staring past the man. These old bones missed the days when the now abandoned houses were filled with life, especially come the holidays. But since the strife with the Troll queen, it was not the same. "I cannot be safe in my own land?" He asked. "My friend, I have lived for many years, and have travelled the world to see places some do not even know exist. I have seen good and evil in far more unfamiliar territory. And yet even those who know of my travels and battles fear for me here." Rejecting the man's hand, he climbed onto the carriage. It had been so many years since he had been so hopeless.

Prompt One:
Chinook grinned at the presence of her old friend. Persephone shared a hate of the bitter cold that Chinook admired. But, lucky Persephone was a spirit, and could escape the winter while Chinook had to stay in the Kingdom. Seeing her old friend was a rare occasion.
"Ah, Persephone! Glad as always to see you." Chinook laughed warmly. "This party is excellent, I agree. It's good to be inside, with a fireplace. And all these people!" Without asking, Chinook grabbed a cup of cider from a table. "We've got a ton of catching up to do. Me? Same old, same old. Just doing my duty, keeping the snow falls level, if you know what I mean."
She finished the cider and placed it down on another guest's table. "So, how's the Land of Spirits? I'll bet it's to die for up there. Tell me everything, I want to hear."

Prompt Two:

Chinook, who had never prided herself on being anything near brave, backed away from the mysterious black-clothed stranger. Really, was there any need for a man to be wandering around in black cloaks, with a sword, at this time of night? She put on her best "people-pleasing" gin and laughed nervously.
"Ah... No thank you, sir. It's just that, see... I'm on a walk right now. Also, I'm sure that if I went back to the castle, the Queens would not be happy at my presence. You see, I'm not on the best terms with them... So I'll be going!"
She turned and fled as fast as she could.

Prompt One: As Present turned to face Persephone the ghost's face lit up once again with a smile. "Hello, Persephone," the ghost greeted in return as she seemed to hover where she stood. "It is quite a lovely party, and everyone is enjoying it as well. Are you enjoy it? I know you don't normally enjoy the cold," the ghost stated, as her eyes shifted around the room with excitement. She couldn't take her eyes off what was going on around her, even as she spoke to Persephone.

Prompt Two: The Ghost had floated away from the dance, as she had needed to think alone. There hadn't been much going on at the party, well, not much that interested her. And her siblings had been completely in control. She had wandered farther then she expected so when she heard horse hooves approach. She glanced up at the man with her head tilted. There was something not right about this guy, and she was not about to trust him. "I took a walk and ended up here. There is not reason for you to worry about me. I think that I am perfectly fine out here," she stated with a smile. Before she started on her way.

Prompt One:
Turning to see the woman clad in such colors, she could not help but to frown slightly. Even she hadn't been so bold as to use the colors of Spring in her dress. But she did seem to convey herself in good favor so Fondant may as well indulge.
"It is indeed. Have you had any of the cakes or other sweets as of yet? They're absolutely delicious!", she asked as she turned next to her and seized a tray of assorted treats and held them up bewtween the two of them. "I- I mean who wouldn't like a cupcake, right?"
Oh this is so awkward. What is she doing here? I thought this was for those of Winter, Spirits, Toys, and Sweets? What is someone who is the embodiment of Spring doing here? I don't like it., she thought her hands trembling as it held the platter making the cakes and sweets slide and bounce. She laughed nervously her eyes looking aside to try and find anyone to take her from this awkward situation she had found herself in.
Prompt Two:
Fondant tensed as she seen one hand draw his sword and then he extended his hand to her. Why had he even acted to draw his sword against her? She nodded saying nothing as she took his hand and got into the sleigh next to him. Perhaps something had happened to cause such tension at the Castle? But then again...
"May I ask your name, sir? Also to whom you serve?"
Perhaps this was a question she should have asked prior to accepting his hand and sliding in beside him. After all, the man was armed and oddly dressed.

Prompt One: Time to turn the old charm on. A dazzling smile fell on Persephone as Jack turned to meet her. "And good evening to you, my dear." His words implied a certain warmness that just wasn't echoed in his voice. Or that icy, icy stare. He watched a second as she fiddled with her cape, and then moved his fingers to help her, gingerly pulling the edges of her collar to the center of her neck. "Cold?" The scintillating smile flipped wider by a fraction of an inch. "I forget that others mind this weather! But my, yes, lovely. Absolutely lovely." He was awfully close to her now, after adjusting her cape. He held out his hand, palm up. "Would you care for a dance? Might warm you up a little."

Prompt Two: Jack was more than a little startled. Even though he had little power in the Kingdom... he should at least have the power to choose where he went! But... ever the crowd pleaser... "Ah, my apologies. I guess I should have asked for a guard. It's just such a lovely night." He reached a hand out to snatch a snowflake from the crisp air. "Can you blame me for wanting to lose myself in it?" Jack grabbed the hand and hoisted himself up onto the horse- and in front of the rider. "Well, shall we be off then?" He gave the reigns a tug and clicked his tongue, steering the horse back towards the castle.

(Broken said I might want to write for both Jack and the Rat Queen~ So here's her stuffles! ♥)

Prompt One: The Rat Queen almost turned around and snapped the neck of poor Persephone. Almost. But, she caught herself just in time, and did not obey her catlike reflexes. "Good evening." She gave the mandatory reply, and took the young lady's hand, giving it one hard shake. "Yes. A very nice party." She paused, feeling a bit awkward. Diplomacy was not the queen's strong point. "Yeah." The Rat Queen looked off to the side for a second, scratching her upper thigh in thought. "You're enjoying yourself, then?"

Prompt Two: "I... beg... your... pardon?" Came the confused reply from the rat queen. She fingered the knife she had up her sleeve, and took a few steps back from the stranger. "I fancy some fresh air." Her eyes narrowed, and her brows came to an angry "V." "Last time I checked, I have the right to move about this land freely." She tilted her head up, pointing her chin square at the man and his horse. Her words held a certain amount of snot and vitriol. "Or has that changed, good sir?"
