Grass field: The breeze from the stadium air conditioners rustles the flat grassland arena that has replaced the default stage. Small clouds of harmless pollen fly through the air from the breeze. The land is completely flat, making maneuverability easy to those build to walk on land. This field gives a 25 HP attack boost to GRASS and BUG type attacks

Chloe walked into the stadium, her hand resting on Bandit's back as they went. She had just finished up her shift at the local pokemon center and she was exhausted, but Bandit was still full of energy. Literally. Every once in a while she received a slightly startling jolt of electricity from him. It didn't really hurt, being so small, and she knew he wasn't doing it on purpose, but it was obvious that he needed some way to release all the extra energy he had from waiting around for her to be done working.
"Well come on then, let's find you someone to battle." Chloe gave Bandit a pat on the shoulder, "Would that make you feel better?"
Bandit nodded enthusiastically and began dancing in place, his hooves making quite the racket against the floor. He tossed his head and began trotting in a little circle, his mane and tail flashing with electricity.

"Uhh...Shadow...I know you love battling but," began Socks who was currently trying to drag her empoleon's determined march to the stadium, " I don't think today is a good day, I mean, you already battled today and you may be tired and..."
The boy's list of concerns were ignored as Shadow stepped into the grass field. Excellent, an opponent was even already there. Socks sighed and stepped onto his own trainer platform. There was no other choice really.
"H-hello there, my pokemon seems pretty determined to battle, so I guess -ifyoudon'tmind- let's have one?"

Shadow wasted no time waiting for a response. His eyes have met his opponent. His trainers eyes have met his opponent's trainer. A battle MUST occur! In Shadow's world at least.
A strong foot slammed onto the ground of the Arena, sending tremors throughout the field. Socks groaned - this was going to be a long day.

"Of course, that's why we're here." Chloe nodded and then clutched the side of her trainer platform as the tremors occurred with barely any warning.
"Go on then Bandit, use Thunderbolt!"
The Blitzle's quick reflexes allowed him to quickly react to the attack, but it was no use. The entire field shook violently enough to send him flying off to one side, his legs wobbly from the sheer power of the attack. His ears were ringing as he heard Chloe give the command for him to retaliate, and his body began to spark for a split second before a bolt of pure electricity arced toward the opponent.

Socks mimicked Shadow's wince as the thunderbolt hit straight on. But he knew his stubborn pokemon wouldn't go down that easily.
"Uh...Shadow, metal claw maybe?" The boy was not much of a battler - he was actually a coordinator, but he at least knew this attack.
The empoleon took the suggestion - a rare occurance - and its claws began to gain a metal like quality. Now Shadow was really ready to bring this battle up one more notch.

Chloe's eyes lit up as she had the sudden realization that Empoleon was also of the steel type. Perfect, that meant she could have Bandit practice his physical moves and still have an advantage, as long as they could keep away from those nasty looking claws of his.
"Double kick this time, Bandit!"
Bandit was already on his way by the time she said so. His powerful legs launched him across the battlefield with incredible speed and he raced over to his opponent, screeching to a halt before spinning around to deliver two quick, hard kicks right at the enemy's torso.

Socks winced once more as his emopleon was pushed back by the Blitzle's fierce kicks. He wasn't quite sure what to say - his brain was put at a jarring halt every time he saw his pokemon get injured.
This was why Shadow never depended on her trainer anymore in battles. She could do this herself. Since the enemy was st8oo quite close by, she was confident that her next move would not fail her. She slammed a foot on the ground, releasing more tremors at almost point blank range.

Chloe winced, that looked like an incredibly hard hit. If they were going to have a chance here, they needed a way to keep from being hit. Of course, the best way to do that for Bandit would be to paralyze them.
"Try your thunder wave!" She shouted.
Bandit grit his teeth and let out a cry of pain, this hit was even worse than the last. He sparked once again and let out several softer pulses of electricity, hoping desperately that they would force his opponent to stop moving, if only for a little while.

"SHADOW, DODGE!" Socks shouted in warning as soon as he heard thunder wave being declared. Paralyzation would be disastrous for them.
With the forewarning, Shadow was thankfully able to move its large bulk out of the way of the next electric attack. Not wanting the opponent to be able to launch yet another one of those immediately afterwards, Socks once again slammed a foot on the ground to disrupt his opponent.

"Again!" Chloe muttered something incoherent under her breath, growing increasingly frustrated. Even though this battle was what Bandit wanted, it didn't mean she didn't want him to win!
Bandit sparked violently as the next attack hit, staggering him once again, but at Chloe's command he continued to release the pulses of energy. It seemed like this might be the only way for them to have a chance.

"Shadow!" socks souted again, but this time the warning was too late. The electricity wrapped around the large steel penguin and cackled around it. Shadow groaned, almost falling over from the pain he felt in his nerves. His body wasn't responding!
Frustrated, Shadow attempted to slam her appendages on the ground again...if her body would obey her.
