Inigo halted outside the door, peering up at the label uncertainly. Aila had told him before to see Isadora, but he never took her advice - he hadn't thought much of it, hadn't really taken it seriously... Now that he thought of it, he did that with quite a few things she'd suggested, and a knot of guilt twisted his stomach. That was one reason, at least, for why he was currently standing outside the psychologist's office.

The other was a select few people gently prodding him in that direction - metaphorically speaking, of course - and he readily complied. He didn't have the energy to refuse anyway. ..not that he'd even refuse to go, but that was another matter entirely. With a sigh, he reached up a hand to knock at the door, Leilani hovering behind him nervously.

User Image All that Isadora had heard was that the most recent mission had returned from their task, nothing more, nothing less. There was no notification of any misfortunes or anything of that sort that had reached Isadora's ears, and so she was blissfully unaware of any loss Team Rocket had recently suffered. As such, she was not expecting any visitors to her office this day, hence her initial surprise when she heard a light knocking on her door.

"Yes, yes, wait a moment, please," she called out to her visitor as she placed the papers she was reading down on her desk and made her way over to the door. Opening it, she saw a young man who she had never seen before standing patiently and nervously there. Behind him, Isadora could see a rather uncomfortable looking Meganium with a lovely coloring standing nearby. Well... At least Basil would be occupied now.

Isadora gave the young man a kind smile and pushed the door ajar. "Why, hello. Do you need something?" She had no scheduled appointments today, so the only thing that she could assume was that this person was either an impromptu patient or he was forced by someone else to ask her a question. Of course, several other scenarios could also be possible, but right now, Isadora didn't bother herself with them.

The grunt heard the muffled voice and took a step backwards -- only to bump into Leilani. She squeaked in mild surprise but unsurprisingly didn't move an inch. There wasn't time for either to do anything else before the door opened, revealing a pleasant-looking woman with.. oddly colored hair. She looked nice, though. "Uh," he hesitated and a hand lifted and pushed itself through his hair. He wasn't really sure where to start. What should he even say? "Um, t-to talk, I guess, about the raid, and, um.. Well, something else, I guess...?" That was right, wasn't it? He'd been told to talk to her about the raid - about Aila, more specifically - and she'd told him to talk to her about his phobia. But what good would that do?

He'd been to psychologists before, sure - back when his parents wanted him to get over his phobia so he'd be a more normal, happy, healthy child. It didn't take long before they gave up, though.

User Image "Oh, about the raid? Of course, please come in." Isadora gestured her hand to invite the young man inside before she turned around, leaving the door open, and walked back to her desk, quickly getting one last sip of tea from the cup near her papers. Iditarod, who was lying on the carpet nearby, lifted her head up as her human passed by, and Isadora responded with a few loving strokes of the Fire-type's fur. Basil, on the other hand, caught sight of the second Meganium in the doorway and was awake instantly, a happy grin stretching across his face. New people! There were new people here! And there was another Meganium, just like him! Oh, what excitement!

"I've heard very little about the raid, actually. Were you one of the people that attended it?" Isadora adjusted her glasses and looked over to the young man with genuine curiosity. She sighed quietly to herself and sat herself down on one of the two couches. "Please, do sit down. What is your name?"

Inigo awkwardly followed Isadora inside as his green eyes flicked uninterestedly to the various furnishings. The Meganium caught his eye and his gaze brightened a fraction - but it only lasted a brief moment before depression washed over him again and he flopped down onto one of the couches. "Inigo," he offered readily, although didn't ask her name. Aila had mentioned it before. Just because he'd never really acted on her advice didn't mean he didn't remember it clearly. "..oh. Yeah, I was. Um.. I guess that means you haven't heard about what happened yet, then.." He reached a hand up to rub at his eyes and part of his face. Oi, carajo... This would just make it that much harder. He half expected to come in and have her already know all about it, that would have been so much easier to talk about...

Leilani crooned and nuzzled her friend's knee before plopping down on the floor between him and the other Meganium. While she was very excited to see another of her kind, she wouldn't stray far from her person. She said brightly, although her antennae were almost completely slicked back against her head and her owner's sad mood reflected partially in her own posture.

User Image Isadora maintained her kindly smile as the young man say down on the couch opposite her. "It's a pleasure a meet you, Inigo. My name is Isadora." Inigo, hmm? Sounded fairly Spanish to her ears, but she could not tell for sure. Inigo definitely seemed troubled over something, but that was why Isadora was here.

Her gaze softened as the young man rubbed his eyes and her expression became one of faint worry at the mention of 'what happened.' "...'What happened?' Did something go wrong on the raid? Is everyone all right?" She certainly hoped that all who attended were well. How terrible it would be if someone got especially injured.

Basil was over the moon with ecstatic joy as the other Meganium sat down near him. She was friendly! And she was asking about him! Oh, what excitement! His eyes were open and his grin widened. ["Hello, Leilani! I'm Basil! It's nice to meet you!"]

"Oh--" He'd completely forgotten the niceties - just because he knew her name didn't mean he could drop them altogether. "Lo siento. Nice to meet you too, Isadora," although the circumstances weren't exactly the best. ...Arceus how was he even supposed to explain any of this? Why couldn't she just already know everything? That would've been so much easier. "Um.. well... Yeah, something did. Uh.." Better to just start at the beginning. "Well, we went to Galactic - the other team, I guess - to their airship to get Nyx back - the elite, I think, I don't know her - and we did. Then they found out that Galactic was gonna try and recreate the world however they wanted it with a bunch of legendaries and a huge machine in Johto, so we went there and I guess made the thing blow up somehow," he shrugged then ran his fingers through his hair again, not even realizing how insane any of this could have sounded. "And..." His brow furrowed as he ticked off his fingers, "Nyx and.. Kunai? Kunai got shot, somebody killed one of the Galactics - I didn't know his name - um.. Tambrey hurt her leg.. and a Shaymin exploded near Izaya and Aila." The sad returned. "And.. almost everybody's okay," he finished lamely.

The Meganium beamed at the other grass-type, bobbing her head a bit. Obviously they must be very close! How could they not be? Her antennae twitched a bit at Inigo's explanation, and her demeanor depressed slightly as she twisted her neck to nudge his knee with her nose again. The grunt offered her a brief, wan smile before patting her head.

User Image Isadora listened as Inigo recounted the events of the most recent mission with intrigue. She did not recognize most of the names that he listed off in succession, but one name she did know quite well, and her eyes widened as the young Grunt mentioned it. "Wait: Aila was on the mission? And a Shaymin exploded near her?" Her brow creased with worry. "She's not terribly hurt, is she? Is she okay?" Concern over the well-being of the young woman flooded over Isadora. "...Almost everybody?"

Basil was delighted by this new Meganium's company. She seemed so kind and happy and friendly! Basil was glad for that! ["Thank you very much! Leilani is a very nice name, too! I've been with my Isadora for a long, long time. My two former trainers let me stay with her when she went to school and we're still together now!"] Basil glowed with happiness, unaware of Leilani's upset nudge of her own trainer's knee. ["How long have you been with yours? You two seem to like each other a lot!"]

Inigo rubbed both hands over his face, his elbows resting on his knees. "..um.." Carajo. She knew Aila. She knew Aila and she didn't know what'd happened. And here he'd thought going to a psychologist would make him feel better, not worse. Silly him. "Well.." How to say this... He'd never had to tell anyone that a friend of theirs died. What should he even say? How should he phrase it? He just... He had no idea. The heels of his hands pressed into his eyes and a grimace flickered over his face, and his throat suddenly felt tight just thinking about it. Whatever. He inhaled shakily, not moving his hands from his face. "..no, actually, she's not okay. She.. she died. On the way back. Something internal, I guess. I don't know."

she explained with a bright grin and a nod. Her demeanor depressed again when the grunt explained haltingly about what happened, and she cooed softly as she nuzzled his knee. He didn't respond.

User Image At first, Isadora did not respond. She said nothing as she sank down into the couch, her back leaning against the cushions as her eyes stared ahead, not seeing. Then, suddenly, the words finally pieced together in her mind and she could make sense of them.

"...No. No, that's impossible." Her voice was low and choked as she spoke. "There's no way that she could... There's no way." The look on Inigo's voice told no lies, though, and realization hit Isadora like a brick upside her head.

"...Oh no. Oh, Arceus, no." Isadora slowly hung her head, hiding her face from her patient as the wave of emotion overtook her. Her hands were shaky as she removed her glasses and pressed the palms of her hands against her eyes. She murmured something quietly, almost to herself.

"...You bloody idiot, getting yourself killed."

["Hee-hee! That's a long, long time, for sure! I've been with my Isa since she was five, when my Jonathan and Markus brought her home to live with us!"] Basil smiled at the memory of when he had first met the little girl named Isadora. She was lot different back then: much sadder. She looked very sad now, though, and it brought a frown to Basil's face. What had happened? Why was she looking so upset?

At hearing her words his hands lowered, and seeing her reaction made another guilty knot twist his stomach. "..lo siento," he murmured apologetically, brow inclined in worry and sympathy. "If it helps.. she didn't really... suffer, I don't think," the grunt offered, scooting a few inches forward on his couch. "She seemed.. scared at first, but then she got really calm, and... she smiled once or twice," at least once to him, he remembered, and his stomach knotted again. "S'said she was just going to rest a little bit, and I think.. she might've fell asleep first, or.. I don't know." Well that was a lame finish, but talking about it made him feel worse. Arceus, wasn't coming here supposed to help? Instead it just made everything worse. Doubly so because he was upsetting the person who was supposed to help him. Carajo...

"..do... d'you need a hug?" Hugs always made everything better, after all. Or at least.. more bearable.

Oh, that must mean Basil was old! Well, not too old, but a lot older than herself. She didn't really reply yet though, too focused on watching Inigo. At least he didn't look as sad as he did earlier...
PostPosted: Sat Nov 19, 2011 10:10 pm

User Image Inigo's words did bring Isadora a small amount of comfort, but it did nothing to lessen the blow. At least she wasn't in pain. But... How could she have been so careless like that? She wasn't one to just throw her life away for any one small cause. Then again, the way that Inigo had put it made it seem like she had died for the good of Team Rocket, and that in itself was nothing to sneer at. The mental image of the young girl smiling before she slept her never-ending sleep just made dragged Isadora further down into her grief.

"...Yeah. I think I do need a hug." The doctor sniffed and unceremoniously wiped her tears away with her white jacket sleeve, her eyes red and puffy. She felt awful for crying like this in front of a patient, not to mention a patient who seemed just as upset and traumatized by Aila's passing - perhaps even more so - as she. It was poor show to be so biased in issues concerning a patient, but she could not help it. Even if she was a nuisance to Aila, she cared for the girl and even considered her a good friend. Now... Now she was just gone.

Basil blinked as he watched his Isadora as she cried. Why... Why was she crying? What had happened? Isadora shouldn't be crying! Basil knew that she had cried enough in her life: she shouldn't be doing that anymore. His usually bright eyes now filled with worry, the Meganium crawled over to his human friend and nudged her leg. Even Iditarod could tell that something was amiss, and she silently walked over to Isadora's side and gently placed her large fluffy head on the woman's shoulder.

Inigo didn't need to be told twice. He rose from his couch and within a moment had sat down again on Isadora's, and leaned over to gently wrap his arms around her. While he may have been awkward with other things - like explanations - he certainly wasn't with hugs. It also helped that his personal space bubble was minimal and that he loved hugs.

Leilani watched Isadora's pokemon move to her too and she crooned sadly before gently headbutting Inigo's leg. At least he wasn't as sad as before...
PostPosted: Sat Nov 19, 2011 11:24 pm

User Image Isadora said nothing as Inigo sat down next to her and wrapped his arms around her in a hug. It certainly helped, being held, but it also made the sorrow burst froth from her with more fervor than before. She choked back a sob and wiped her eyes again. How could Aila have been so stupid? Isadora thought that Aila would have at least tried to protect herself. Why did she just throw a life of potential away like that? The more that the doctor maintained the thought, the angrier she became, and she knew that she could never make an outburst in front of a patient. That would be unforgivable.

"Thank you, Inigo," she finally said after a few moments. "I'm feeling a bit better now." She tried to smile a little, but it was overshadowed by the trails from tears running down her cheeks. "Of course, we're not here to concern ourselves with my emotions. We're here for yours." Isadora made a feeble attempt at a chuckle and pulled herself away from Inigo's hug.

Basil blinked sadly and nuzzled against Isadora's leg, cooing as the woman gently petted his head. Iditarod just closed her bright blue as Isadora also reached a hand up to scratch behind the Arcanine's ear. Both Pokemon were concerned for the well-being of their human, and both hated greatly to see their Isadora so depressed.

"Ah, de nada," he mumbled quietly as he pulled away at the same time she did, simultaneously scooting a couple inches away from her on the couch. He wasn't sure if he was expected to stay there on hers, or go back to his, so instead of asking he just awkwardly assumed he was supposed to stay. Hopefully he assumed correctly. "Oh, yeah.. Well, I guess I came to talk about.. well, that, so I don't know..." Were they just supposed to... keep talking about it, or.. or... actually he hadn't any idea what else they could do, unless they wanted to just not talk about it anymore. Oi, why did this have to be so difficult?
