I don't think it's wrong; we are carnivores after all. But I wish I could resist; eating meat sometimes make me feel bad for the animals so I try to eat as little as possible 3nodding

I don't think it's wrong. I love meat, and here's why. If we don't eat cows and pigs and stuff, their populations would get out of control. They would eat all the food that other animals have to eat too. Eventually, there wouldn't be enough food for all the animals, and they'd end up going hungry anyway, resulting in an animal starvation. So really, we're killing less cows by eating them then by not. (I know, it's a little dramatic, but I like drama biggrin )

PLEASE tell me you don't actually believe what you just said. If you do, think very carefully about where you have developed that ridiculous idea. If we didn't eat cows and pigs, we would not breed them intensively, and the majority of species would pretty much die out except for on rare breeds farms. You like meat because it tastes good, and you don't feel sufficiently guilty about it to stop. Don't pretend you are doing the world (or animals) a favour by helping to prevent the spread of their populations. People involved in hunting wild deer etc in over populated areas MAY be able to present a sensible defence for the over population argument. People who eat factory farmed cows and pigs certainly can not.

I think that not being vegetarian isn't necessarily wrong, though I do have respect for people who are (for the right reasons). Humans are designed to be omnivores, and animals eat other animals all the time. The way their prey is killed isn't always quick adn kind. I myself choose what meats to eat based on how the animals are killed. Therefore, I don't eat any veal, lamb, pork, beef, or any seafood where the creature is boiled alive. Well, actually, I don't eat pork because of the genetic altering done to make them lean; it makes them insane and violent. Am I better than other people for these decisions? No. But it's my choice.

Meat is like a drug.
It's good to some and not to others. addictive to some and nothing to the rest.

Biologicaly most people have to eat meat. I tried the vegitarian thing once. I was sick the entire time. I have the utmost respect for anyone who chooses that lifestyle but I cant and I wont let anyone tell me that I'm wrong for eating meat.

Although I prefer to not eat meat I work on a farm where they organicly raise animals for slaughter.
If people didn't eat their food they would slow down production, simple as that. If people across the country had even a slight decline in the meat production they would begin to produce less of that animal. Think about it. Have you ever been to a store that was out of all meat? Not me at least.
There is nothing wrong with eating meat. It's a part of nature and sometimes we all need to accept the part of a nature that we are.

I don't think that it is wrong to eat it. If you believe that eating meat is wrong and cruel or whatever, it is your choice. But if someone criticizes you and tells you that it is wrong, just tell them it doesn't violate your personal beliefs. And if anyone bugs you about it, I will hunt them down for you and murder them!!!! You have a right to your own beliefs, and so you personally should decide if it is wrong or not.

I don't think it's wrong. We all like different things. I like meat but sometimes it makes me feel sad knowing that I just ate an animal.

No, it's not wrong. Regardless of which diet you choose, animals will die. Whether it's via slaughterhous, hunting or getting chopped up by combine harvesters as they go through crops, getting poisoned or shot to protect crops, something will die in order for us to eat. But that's not an intrinsically bad thing. It's just part of the natural process of life. Things die to sustain other lives.
The manner in which animals die, on the other hand, is what people should be concerned about. I firmly believe that people should aim to reduce suffering, not eliminate death. There are many ways you can reduce suffering whilst still eating meat. Buying from 'organic' and free-range farms, buying freerange eggs as opposed to cage-eggs, buying from a local source where you can see the manner in which animals are kept. Hunting your own food or buying meat from a hunter. Buying vegetables that come from farms that don't use as many pesticides, simply having an apple tree/stawberry patch/what have you in the backyard. Keeping a breeding pair of meat rabbits. There are many options. smile
