Moon hunter, builder of walls, defender of princess golems. That was Marcus. Granted, he was a trainee hunter, and his walls occasionally fell, and his princess had her a** handed to her… Marcus still thought he was pretty good as far as moon hunter trainees went. But there was always room to improve and grow. This in mind he’d gone in search of other people to challenge to a fight. Sparring was good exercise, and not to mention, it was kind of fun to practice without worry that they would get their s**t kicked in by some monsters, demons, ghosts, zombies, or whatever the ******** was thrown at them. It was a bit of an easy thing to do, compared to like… other things on the island. Such as the death hunter training course. ******** death sweeper. ******** it so hard.
Brushing aside his hate for that which kicked his a** well over five times, Marcus found a perfect candidate for sparring. Moon versus moon. It was a bit of an unfair fight in some ways, him having more experience but- With their weapons and the fact they were both still trainees- it was fair enough for Marcus to ask Ryan if he wouldn’t mind sparring with him later that afternoon all things considered. Now, just outside the ‘jungle’, Marcus bit into one of the cookies commonly found in the cafeteria. The lady might have been creepy, but she sure did make a mean cookie.

Ryan had been a little surprised when he got the request for a friendly spar with his fellow division mate, Marcus. He had only seen him a couple of times before. He seemed able and was probably skilled in battle. Which to be honest, didn't really concern him. Sure he had more experience, but what better way to improve your own skills than to learn from someone more experienced, first hand?
What time did he say again?
:Afternoon.:
Okay, so he wasn't late. But he had taken a wrong turn, which had put him in the opposite direction again. Thankfully another hunter was kind enough to re-direct him to the jungle.
:Ah, there he is.: Locke announced, spotting the moon trainee up ahead with a---was that one of those cookies from the cafeteria..? That... can't be good...
"Hey, sorry to keep you waiting."

Marcus was wide eyed and ‘waiting for something really cool to happen any second now’. Typical cookie after effects, not bad, but not very good for pre-fighting. (He had just been really craving a cookie). “Hey. Glad to see you made it. Find your way around the place easy enough?” Did Ryan ever have one of the cookies? He should they were great. What else was great? Sparring. Like they would be doing shortly.
Marcus.
Yeah what is it Dis? Something wrong?
You’re getting excited.
Yeah, why? Is that a bad thing? Am I too excited? I can’t help it something good is going to happen soon.
Well, your a** will get handed to you at this rate. That is what will happen.
Ignoring Dis and his Debbie downer attitude, Marcus summoned the vampire blade, which gave a light blue glow. “So, you ready?”

"Err, sort of. To be honest, I'll be glad when I stop getting lost..." Ryan paused, looking at the older man with a curious expression. He looked... How do you put it? Hyper--no... Happy? Yeah... Like someone excited about something. Weird... Was it the cause of those cookies maybe?

That was right, he still had to take her up on that 'rain check.' Hmm... Maybe tomorrow?
"You okay?" He asked, still unsure of what to make of Marcus' current state. He seemed okay, but if the rumors about those things were true... this could turn out to be a rather eventful afternoon. Still, a promise was a promise.
Locke?

With a bright flash of red light, the gauntlets appeared on his arms, their own red glow seeming to challenge the blue that opposed them.
Rolling for initiative!

Shrugging, Marcus didn't dwell on in, his grin stuck on his face. "Time helps. Besides, getting lost will help you find other places. A learning experience if you will." It was the best advice he could off the newer trainee. His question made Marcus practically bounce. "Me? Yeah I'm fine. Probably the cookies. Kind of a weird side effect but it's not bad. Kind of like just a boost of energy. Tastier then energy drinks anyway."
Dis was in his head telling him to get a hold of himself... but it wasn't helping. Neither was Ryan summoning his gauntlets.

"I guess so, but it would be better if I didn't get lost when I'm supposed to be somewhere else." He shrugged, there was some truth to his words. In fact, he had already met a couple of others thanks to this.
He eyed him carefully, his curious expression turning to a worried one.
"Err... umm... Are you sure they're okay..?" Boost of energy? Like energy drinks? Yeah right! Maybe like ten! "How many of those have you had..?" He asked slowly, hoping it wasn't something addictive.
:Now is not the time. I don't think he's going to wait around much longer--not when he's that hyped up. Attack now before he attacks you!:
Right, right. I'll just have to continue this little conversation throughout the battle, I guess.
With that, he lunged for him, claws outstretched and ready to tear into flesh.

He hadn't been ready for the attack, and fell back at it landed. But he was still fine. yet. Still good. "Uh-huh! Fine and dandy!" When did he say dandy. Apparently right now he did. "One. here. But I had.. a few before I came. they're really good."
His face shot to serious. "REALLY good." He tried to stab Ryan still. Good vibes or not.

Ryan felt the blade hit and cursed. It was hard to try and determine where the swing of sword was coming from, but it was impossible when your opponent was a little... What word could he use to describe this behaviour? Hyper? Insane maybe? ...Both?
...Both probably....
"...You sure about that? I mean, with just a few---just how many is a few?" He asked, pausing in his attack momentarily.
What was he? Some cookie junkie? Somehow he doubted a few was one or two...

s**t was crazy. He was getting hit but something good was going to happen he just knew it. "I dunno. A handful? I had one yesterday. I kind of want more but I don't think I can have more, some hunters sent me away after the third cookie." Marcus would regret this later. "Something about the cookies being addictive but I don't think so, they just taste really good." He seemed.. gleedful as he charged into Ryan.

Ryan coughed when he was struck again, this time moving back in an awkward hop.
"I can see that." He answered.
He definitely seemed addicted. It made him wonder why they were allowing these things to be given out in the first place, and how Marcus has managed to get more, after being cut off.
"Geez... I knew Wilson got chatty from the cookies, but you're on a whole different level of hyper." He grumbled, darting forward as his hand coiled into a fist and struck at the other moon trainee.

"Hrmmm-" he said before going OOMF as he was struck. "Huhhhhh. Maybe. I was bored. And they tasted good. But I think I will be okay, honest!" Just hyper before his crash. That wasn't something he was going to enjoy at all. An attempt to stab and he missed. Oh well. Something good would happen soon, he was sure.

"Somehow I doubt that..." He answered, dodging the attack and using the opening to strike Marcus across the back with his claws.
Hopefully these cookies wouldn't have any other serious side effects and he hoped that these effects would only last a couple of hours. Otherwise he wasn't sure how he was going to handle this... Maybe he'd get Marcus to run around the track until he wore himself out..?

"No No, I will be alright. I promise. Just... it'll be a while. Not so bad. I promise." He was like Cass, giddy and overly excited. Dis was in his mind, sighing like it was nobody's business and occasionally telling Marcus how he was going to give really lewd suggestions next time he went for cookies. Marcus hoped it wouldn't come to that. A smile and the moon hunter slashed at Ryan's midsection.
"Don't worry about it. It'll work itself out."

"Ow! Sonuna--!" Ryan hissed out a breath sharply when the blade struck again. This time Marcus had hit him dead on, causing his own counter attack to fail completely and also resulted in a lovely wound across his midsection.
It was a good thing they hadn't made a bet, like Ariane had when they fought, because at this rate, he really thought he was going to lose!
"Suuure it will..." He answered, pressing a hand against the fresh gash, wincing a little at the sharp pain. "I swear this is going to--"
A pause.
"Wait, what do you mean awhile..?"
:Shouldn't you spend less time talking and more time concentrating on the battle?:
Yeah, but... Those cookies can't be healthy...
:And neither can getting hacked to bits by someone hyped up on said cookies. Geez Ryan, use your head! Try and convince him after the battle, not during battle!:
