Dearel looked down one street and then another. She shook her head; neither one looked familiar. Yet, she would almost swear that all the streets looked the same. The young woman put her hands on her hips. She was good and lost this time. Attempting to learn the layout by exploring had resulted in her getting distracted, and then lost. Now she was trying to find her way back to the little apartment she'd rented. It wasn't going well.
A collar dangled from the fingers of her left hand. Dearel glanced at it and sighed. It had just been laying in the middle of the street; she had gone out to get it. She recognized it for a domesticated mokai collar. There was one problem with it. It wasn't attached to its mokai. Wanting to help, Dearel had searched the area for the mokai. After an hour she still had no luck. She decided she could always hang onto it and try to find the owner later. That was when she realized she didn't know where she was.

“I know Ai. I’m sorry! With the little one here, I can’t get out as much as I use too. But things will change!” the slightly chubby man told his striped companion, who trotted rather happily beside her master. She was oblivious to the fact that JB had been talking with her. She was just happy to be outside, in the open, with him in general.
Her golden eyes spotted the human not too far from where they were walking, and she began pulling even more at her lead, towards the female with the collar dangling in her hand.
“Whoa, Ai, no! Easy!” JB must have been out of it with his new child, or else he would not be as tired to not be pulled by his fighter mokai. When his dark eyes landed on what had caught Ai’s excitement, he just gave an ‘oh’ with a sigh. “Alright, we will go say hi.” The man owed it to his fighter really.
“Hello there!” The once tiredness in his posture was instantly replaced with his normal stance. He gave a tug at Ai’s leash, which stopped her from pulling even more.

Dearel was just about to finish her inny-mini-miny-mo to pick a random street. The collar jangled in her hand as she turned. Her eyes caught those of a man with a mokai pulling him. She gave a smile to the mokai then greeted him.
"How do you both do?" She wondered if he was heading somewhere or just spending time with his mokai. Dearel sighed to herself and jiggled the collar again. It clearly didn't belong to this one as she already had one.

Ai stopped pulling as soon as she reached the other human. Her tail gave a quick wag, turning a glance to JB to ask if it was okay to further go up to the human. When he gestured his okay, Ai wandered cautiously over to the other human, wanting her to bring her hand down so she could sniff it. She waited patiently in a sit.
“We’re doing fine, aren’t we Ai?” JB’s dark eyes glinted happily, something you didn’t see too often from the large male. Ai turned towards JB when she heard her name, her tail beating on the ground.
“I’m JB. And this is Ai.” His eyes turned to the little collar in her hand. “Missing someone?” He was curious.

Obligingly, Dearel knelt down to the mokai's level. "Hullo there." She offered her hand to her. Seeing that she was friendly she went to gave her a scratch behind the ear.
"That's good to hear. Is your name Ai?" She asked the friendly mokai with a smile. "It's a pleasure to meet you JB and your mokai. I'm Dearel." The woman glanced at the collar then shook her head. "Um, well I don't know. I actually found it in the road awhile go. It could belong to someone. While I don't own a mokai of my own, I thought it would be good to return this to whoever it belonged to.Then again it could just be an old collar that was thrown away."
She felt silly admitting the last. It wasn't like her to go hunting through trash or anything.

Ai beat her tail on the ground at the scratch, using this to acknowledge that yes, her name was Ai.
“Same to you, Dearel.” JB was always that of a friendly nature to other people; however, sometimes when he further got to know people, his true personality would show. Seeing as he had just met the female, he was more cool, and collected.
“That’s a shame. I haven’t heard of anyone losing a mokai recently.” If there was a loose mokai, JB was sure to hear about it in the pit sometime. That was when he heard stories of the black pelted feral roaming the settlement. He had made it his objective to catch it. “Though I will keep my ears out down at the compound.” The collar she held didn’t look worn, so he doubt it would have been just tossed away. Maybe whoever it belonged to (human or mokai alike) would return to claim it.
“Another shame, about not owning a mokai. Little Ai here just had a litter of puppies, and she had one available. Maybe her next litter, if you are still in need of one, there would be one available. For a fee, of course.” There was part of JB’s personality. Always looking for money.

Dearel chuckled and loved on the mokai a little more. The friendly female increased her desire to have one of her own. Reluctantly she stood up to speak more easily with JB. She didn't want to be rude by paying attention to just Ai.
"How did you come up with that name for her?" It was unique, and Dearel liked that. She smiled pleasantly.
It was a bit of disappointment that he didn't know anyone searching for a lost mokai or collar. At the same time, relieved. Perhaps no one had gotten lost after all. She jangled the collar a moment. "Thanks JB." One more person looking was one more than before.
"Oh, well I just got here after all. Still settling in and all that you know. I plan to get one when I'm ready." It was a shame, but she didn't want to rush into something she wasn't ready for. Dearel blinked when she learned Ai had had puppies. "They must be so cute. Oh thats kind of you. Perhaps." She smiled hesistantly. Having just arrived, she needed to focus on getting a job to earn money.
