He and Andi were on a stroll today, just the two of them for a rather pleasant change. Normally her dad was with them, no doubt the child's form of supervision. If there was anyone in the family Jak didn't like going on strolls with, it was Andi's dad. The man was a strict as they come, and he couldn't get away with much under the watchful eyes of the older male. It was a relief though, when they left the house without her father right behind them. Jak even let the whole being attached to a leash issue go, delighted to be outdoors with just Andi.
The brunette felt his level of excitement and simply laughed when he ran ahead a bit, barking back at her with a huge grin on his face every so often. The excitement was more because of the new area; she was taking him to the fjords for the first time. She loved coming here to go swimming every so often with her older brothers, or at least she did when they gave her the time of day. "Jak, don't tug too hard," she called as she ran to catch up to him, kneeling down and giving him a pat on the head. "You'll choke."
Wagging his tail, the pup nodded in understanding and, when Andi was stood and started walking again, walked beside her and bridled his desire to run straight into the water. It was so.. big, and the sights and scents of the fjords were so new to him that it took all of his will to keep from tugging at his leash and going against Andi's instruction.
"We'll get in the sand soon," Andi said with another laugh when she caught him glancing up with pleading eyes. "It's a bit shallower over there though, where my brothers usually take me, so that's where we're going. Just wait a bit longer, 'kay?"

Erebus watched his young pup with a careful eye. Making sure to intercede if she began to go where he thought it wasn't safe. He could swim well enough in the water, but if she went too far the current would take her and there was nothing he could do to save her. He was no diver, he was a fighter. But he let her go. "Stay close." He barked again at her as she began going out into the water a bit further than he wanted.
"I'm fine... dad." She called back in a slightly more sassy tone than she wanted earning her a cool yet deadly look from her father. Their two-legger was sitting on the beach making some strange sand thing. When she had gone over there, she had pranced as it and got yelled at by the blond male. It seemed she wasn't supposed to play with that thing so she decided the sea would be a better choice. Only to be collared by her father who took every precaution to make sure it didn't swallow her up. Oh well, at least she got to splash around and snap at the water.
Dorian watched them while he made his sand castle. It had been too long since he was last at the beach. There were some really great memories he had. However the blond male had avoided this place for a long time. It reminded him of a family he'd never see again. Looking at the two mokai, he smiled. They were family right now and although he was focused on his castle, he was still checking on them from time to time.

The two of them arrived at the spot where Andi and her brothers would usually go, and as soon as they did Andi took the leash off of the bouncing, eager pup. Upon his freedom he made a run for the big water, stopping at its edge and barking into the distance, occasionally glancing back at Andi before going back to his barking. The 11 year-old laughed at the pup's antics, wishing she had a way preserving the look of his face, tongue-lolling with a huge grin, besides committing it to memory. The young girl quickly set up camp before joining Jak at the water's edge.
"You don't wanna jump in?" she asked him, blinking at the gigantic expanse of primarily unexplored water. That thought alone made the girl frown a bit apprehensively, taking her cue from Jak and simply skirting the shore for now. Without her brothers around to make sure she was alright it just didn't feel nearly as safe.
The two walked for only a short while before they saw another group. One - the two-legger of the lot - was building a sand castle, while two mokai, presumably his, were enjoying the water. At least the pup was. Jak squinted a bit to get a better look at the two mokai, barking excitedly when he realized who it was. The pup made a dash for the bigger of the two, his father, while Andi had her eyes set on the sand castle.
"Poppa!" he called, reaching the large mokai quickly and burying his face into his father's side.

Erebus' ears perked when he heard another call him. It wasn't Nefertari, he could see that, but when he turned he was surprised. There was his son! Not moments later the small fluff was curled into his side. "Well now, I haven't seen you in a long while little one. How is your human treating you?" Eying the small girl there who had accompanied Jak. Not that he was too worried. Jak was one of the three pups he didn't have to worry about. Of course he didn't have to worry about Nefertari either. Kita though, that was different. "I've missed you."
She could see her brother and came bounding like a bullet. A playful yap came out of her as she sprung at him, pouncing with all her might at her brother. "JAK!" She yipped, biting at his ears and pawing at him. It had been so long since they were at the nursery. "Where's momma?"
Well this was interesting Dorian noted. There was most of the family right there not to far from him. Eyes widened, "Oh my. They may destroy my castle again." Fearing for his castle's safety he kept a close eye on the three huddled here. "Erebus, you better make sure they don't knock my castle over again." the words coming out a bit more stenrly than he liked.
Erebus looked at Dorian real fast and barked out his response then turned to the two. "Stay away from Dorian's whatever it is over there. He's already had to rebuild it and it took him a while." Glaring somewhat at Nefertari who grinned at her father. "What am I going to do with you two?"

Jak laughed into his father's fur, not paying much attention to the older mokai's greeting and question until his sister came and tackled him to the ground. Growling playfully, he whapped a paw at his sister who had started aiming for his ears, trying to pin her down so he could answer their father's question.
"My two-legger's awesome," he said, though somewhat strained consider how he was trying to get his sister to quit. She was harder to deal with than Kita sometimes, he thought, then smiled up at his father. "I missed you too! Ah, he paused and regarded his sister, "and momma's with Kita and their two-legger somewhere in the settlement I think..." the pup replied before concentrating fully on wrestling with his sister, paying no heed to his father's words.
Andi, in the meantime, left the little family to themselves and approached the man handling the sand castle. "Neat!" she exclaimed, settling into a kneeling position beside the construct. "Can I help with something?" the brunette asked, then extended a hand. "I'm Andrea," she said with a smile. "Are Jak's father and sister your mokai?" Come to think of it, she hadn't met any of Jak's family nor their owners; her father had dealt with all of that business. At that realization though, she shrugged - better late than never.

Erebus looked to little Jak and grinned at them both. He was a fine boy and Erebus was proud to have a son, not saying he wasn't proud to have two girls though. Erebus knew that Nef hadn't seen her sister or mother in quite some time. This was the first time that he, well they, had seen one of the other family members. Although it was sad to break up the family, it was good to know that Jak's human was taking care of him.
Nef gave him a toothy smile as they became a tousle of fur and fangs in the sand. It had been so long since they had played together before her human had taken her home with daddy. Honestly she was bursting with joy. Though she was a bit sad that Kita and momma weren't here to play with them too. "Maybe we should go find Kita and momma and have them come play with us!" Squeaked the small white fur ball.
The male chuckled. "Maybe we can do that sometime little one."
Dorian smiled at the young girl. "Thanks. I've had a bit more success now that Nefertari isn't planning to come and be the monster to my castle. Yah, I'm Erebus and Nef's owner. Seems they're all getting along." He noted as he looked at them. Sometimes families weren't always this happy. He had seen the dogs back on the mainland sometimes forget their young, but it seemed Erebus remembered which was fine by him. "Its nice to meet you Andrea, the name's Dorian."
Then he turned back to his sand castle, "Are you good at castle's? I'm hoping to make another. Maybe you can help me while I work on the town." Although he put out an outward smile, he felt a bit of sorrow with Andrea there. A memory was triggered with her presence, but he wouldn't let it get the best of him.
