Every morning came with a healthy but exhausting workout, followed by a healthy and heaping breakfast that did not involve the cookies that the chef continuously tried to put on his plate day after day with her creepy, bulging, unblinking eyes. He had to wonder how her morning here like, if she even slept that is as he wandered into the cafe that was barely bustling in the wee hours of sunlight that began to stream in through glass windows .
Well despite the stamina, the exhausted boxer flopped bonelessly onto the table with a plate of eggs, bacon and toast and the mother of all drinks.
Green TEA. oh and a protein shake, duh totes obvs. It was still the breakfast of kings.
Nothing could ruin his day now that he had his morning supply of calories sitting in front of him, wafting that delicious aroma in front of his face.
At least, he thought so.

Deryk's breakfast consisted a little differently. Back at home, it was usually a poptart and some coffee. Here, he wasn't so certain if he could get poptarts. Maybe some toast would do. Whistling as he made his way to the kitchen, he paused as he was met with a stare from the creepy old lady in there.
"Uh.. Good morning Mrs... Whoeveryouare," he said a little warily, not expecting a response. Oh wait. Were those cookies? Last time he was in here, he didn't notice those. Well, maybe that will do to replace the poptart breakfast. But first, he needed coffee. Good ol cup o'joe.
"Oh. Hey man. Grabbing your breakfast too?" he greeted the other hunter while filling up a cup. Deryk put in some sugar, but didn't bother with any cream. Blowing on it lightly, he took a sip before reaching out for one of the cookies. Strange thing to be baking at this time of day, but whatever.
"Whew! That hits the spot. Nothing like a nice hot cup of coffee to start the day. Wonder if they got any expresso here too. That'd be grand. Wouldn't mind getting a shot or two now and then."

Leon wasn't going to say he wasn't a morning person, it wasn't true. He rather enjoyed morning chit chatter and talking about what their morning exercises constisted of. The problem was that here everyone was a sack of lazy potatoes and he didn't want to deal with these people outside of a mission.
The quirk in his eye was already twitching by the time he saw the chatty trainee pick up one of the cookies without a second thought as to what was in it and what wasn't nutritionally. "Yeah, most important meal of the day." he said dryly as he watched the guy and the cookie with his morning drink.
"Coffee, and sugar Deryk?" He said carefully around the guy, chewing thoughtfully on a piece of bacon. "Ever thought of just.........drinking tea or going to decaffeinated?" He was just going to put the idea out there as he sliced into his sunny side up eggs, watching the yolk ooze out much like a wound.
FOOD, GLORIOUS FOOD! At least Nid was enjoying the platter, and ignoring the other guys horrible meal choice.

Taking a bite out of the cookie, Deryk was suddenly feeling really good. It was like something incredibly epically awesome was going to be happening in any moment. It excited him. That, along with the coffee, probably made him more wired than he normally was already.
"Yeah I hear it's pretty important. Never really looked into why that is though. Personally, I enjoy lunch a little more," he said while thinking. As for the suggestion Leon made, he just laughed.
"Tea? Well I do like Arizona Green Tea a fair bit. Don't usually drink it in the morning though. Not too often either. Brisk is also good too sometimes. Can't quite beat Volt or Mountain Dew though," he replied, "And can't go to decaf man. Had to rely on caffiene to stay up. Pulled a lot of all nighters at home. Needed that extra boost."

.................. wait.... what?
Cookie or meat platter? judging by the cracked out look on Deryk's face, he was going to stick to his platter. "I'm sure you aren't the first one to think that Deryk." he said snarkily as he took a bite out of a yolk soaked piece of toast and relished the taste of the protein. "Especially in this place." he continued after making sure he wasn't talking with his mouth full to the bloke and went in for another bite.
If it was one thing, Leon enjoyed chewing his food and Deryk? Deryk just seemed to like to talk up a storm after drinking a mere sip from his coffee, the vile black substance that did nothing for the body except wake it up with its monstrous amounts of caffeine and left room for the inevitable crash. It wouldn't have been a problem except the guy kept talking about the oddest of things. it made the boxer clench onto the utensils in a stark white grip as the egg began to run down the side of the plate and began wasting away on the table.
Such a waste.
"I still think you might want to try some Decaf." he continued to insist to his breakfast mate. "Might take the edge off during the morning, you know.... not be so.....wired?"

Deryk was quick to finish up the cookie. Man, he didn't know what it was, but he just felt AMAZING. It was like powering up a freshly built, suped up computer for the very first time to witness how awesome it was. Or even better.
"Wired? I'm not wired. What makes you think I'm wired?" he asked before drinking some more of his coffee, "I'm chilled. Yep. Chilled. Definitely not wired man.
Tooley just giggled in his mind, obviously very amused with the trainee's current state.
"Oh uh hey man. Your egg is sorta getting allovertheplace. Might wanna clean that up. Er. Need a napkin or something? Here I'll get you some," he chattered before grabbing some napkins and setting them down onto the table in front of Leon.

....... And now Leon figured out why the cafeteria person had eyes like that.
She ate her own cookies. HE just growled in irritation, seeing as how it was a matter of opinions due to him being wired and Deryk thinking otherwise. Nobody could win. "Hold out your hand then and lets see how bad it shakes Deryk." he offered as a challenge and took a casual sip of his protein banana shake, eyeing him down. "Lets see how chill you really are."
But.... what about the breakfast? LEON! Nid didn't sound very pleased with the momentary break from food consumption.
"It'll still be there Nid, relax." He tried to reason with the dragon spirit and took a bite from a piece of bacon to appease its impatience.
Yeah. Cold and unsatisfying.

Grinning like a maniac, Deryk nodded and went ahead to comply with Leon's request. He had this no problem. His hand was going to be as still and steady as a surgeon's.
Sticking his arm out, after drinking a little more coffee, he stared as his hand started to shake and tremble quite a bit.
"Hm. I think something's wrong. Shouldn't be shaking. I really am chill dude," he blinked before pulling back to stretch a bit. Maybe he just needed to loosen up those muscles. From there, he stuck his hand back out, but it still trembled wildly.

Just watching that hand flap in the air like some kind of junkie made him chuckle as he chocked on a sip of his protein shake, had to go down the other tube as he gasped for air and held back the laughs this time.
"Right, sure. Your body says otherwise." he said cockily as he struck out his own arm across from Deryk and it stayed still in the air save for a few wobbles as he inhaled and exhaled. "That says that you need to cut down on the caffeine before you go into a seizure on a mission." he said as if his point was proven in a court of law as he chomped down on another bit of toast.
And seeing the vast emptiness of the cafe lounge, that made the lunch lady the judge in all here eye bulging glory. Her ruling was probably going to be more cookies to the poor lad he figured.

"B-b-but it hasn't done anything bad to meee," Deryk whined. Oh how he loved his caffiene so much. That, and energy drinks. He couldn't just.. .give it up. Noooo way.
He might have been addicted to it. Just maybe.
Before he could say anything else, he noticed more cookies being offered to him. Glancing down at the platter of baked goods, he slowly began to reach out for another one.

"Oh but it has, you just haven't noticed it yet." Leon said sharply back. The co-dependance that Deryk had for the caffeinated and sugar drenched liquid was clearly too deep for him to handle on his own.
He needed a helping hand.
While Deryk helped himself to a few more of the questionable cookies, the boxer had the time to get and start rifling through a pantry in search of the vile substance. "I wonder, if you can give it up cold turkey Deryk, don't you ever feel like trying that one day?" he asked almost menacingly as he pulled out the large can of instant coffee from the shelf.

"What! Nonononono. I can't just give it up. Need the energy. I get headaches if I go too long without caffeine. Not pleasant at all, no. It'll help me stay alert on the missions too. Keep sharp eye out and whatnot. Yes," he tried to explain. Deryk eyed the can of instant coffee warily, not sure what Leon was planning to do with it.
Surely he wouldn't just dump it. There likely would be plenty of other angry trainees if that were to happen. He couldn't be the only one in this facility that drank or even relied on coffee.
"What are you doing. Put that down."

He was going to dump it, and Don't call him Surely.
The ramifications of his choice of action wasn't really a concern in his mind. They could all do with a more healthy drink. He didn't even think they would care, the foolish Boxer.
In a show of strength, Leon took the can in one hand and punched it with the other, sending a spray of coffee bits all over the table as the can itself got a nice little dent in its material, "Well, I put it down alright." he said goofily.

Staring at Leon with wide eyes, Deryk soon let out a noise that was a mix between a gasp and a shriek as the other hunter punched the can, getting the precious dark substance all over the table and floor.
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" he called out before staring at the coffee, trying to scoop up whatever he could. It was a futile attempt.
"Why would you dooo thaaaaat?! Manwhyyougottapunchallthethings... That just wasn't cool dude. The coooffeee... THe precious delicious elixer of energgyyyyy. Whyyy Leon why would you do thtaaath. You..You coffee murderer!"
Tooley was silent, for the most part. She was laughing right now really, too amused with this situation at all. Deryk on caffeine was fun to see. But this was funny too!

Leon couldn't believe that a man could make such a pitiful sound. It was like the strangled sound of a moose as Leon stared with his borderline bugged out eyes. All he did was ruin the can and its supply of instant grounds, he didn't really get why the bloke was trying to pick them up from the floor, it was bad for him in his mind.
"I like punching things, but more importantly, I was trying to help you kick your habit." he said indignantly to the claim of being a murder of coffee. "ITS NOT ALIVE SO IT CANT BE MURDER, that's your addiction talking." he said as he dumped the can open side down in the garbage much to Deryk's whining. "Now while I clean this up, why don't you try some tea?" he offered the guy one of his spare packets of tea and pointed him to the hot water dispenser near the coffee maker, that sure was going to be of no use today. "its good for you, try it." he insisted some more as he picked up the broom and began to sweep up the mess he left behind.
The cookie lady didn't look very pleased with the mess in her domain, but she was ever so pleased whenever she stared at her baked delights.
