Power: Molecular Acceleration: Remy has the power to take the potential energy stored in an object and convert it to kinetic energy thus “charging” that item with explosive results. He prefers to charge smaller objects, such as his ever-present playing cards, as the time required to charge them is greatly reduced and they are much easier for him to throw. The only real limitation to this ability is the time required to charge the object. The larger it is the more time it takes. Most charging takes place through direct skin contact. The power of his explosions is dependent on the mass of the object he is charging, for example, a charged playing card explodes with the force of a grenade. Gambit can also use his powers to accelerate an object's kinetic energy instead of converting its potential energy, for example, he can charge his bo staff with enough power to level a house.
Enhanced Agility: Gambit's ability to tap energy also grants him superhuman agility and dexterity which gives him an added edge he has used to his advantage by developing a unique acrobatic fighting style.
* Static Interference: Ability to create static, because of the charged potential energy always in his body, that shields his mind from detection and intrusion by even the most powerful telepaths. The shield has the added effect of destabilizing touch based powers.
Hypnotic Charm: Ability to "charge" the kinetic energy within a person's brain, allowing a subtle influence over any sentient mind. This power allows Gambit to compel others to believe what he says and agree with anything he suggests. More powerful minds have proven immune to Gambit's charm.
Toxic Transmutation: As Death, he has the ability to convert inert materials into toxic substances; for example, transforming breathable air into poisonous gases.

Lightning flashed highly across the darkening grey colored skies, high above. The air was thick with humidity. Hanging heavily across Louisiana skies. The people in the streets kept to the sidewalks, while others made their way quickly from the street to buildings seeking cover. A few minutes passed as another crack of lightning covered the skyline, the rumbling thunder soon followed as a down pour of heavy rain dropped in buckets across the dark streets and long lost alley ways in Louisiana. Rain pounded against several stained glass windows facing out into one of the busiest streets. People could be seen scattering about the road seeking shelter wherever it could be found. Across from the windows were a few cushioned benches surrounding tables. Candle light appeared to be the only light available currently due to a power outage caused by the storm passing through town.
At one of the booths sat a a mysterious man. His face could not be seen, only the white smoke that rose up along his unshaven features. A wine glass was seen half empty within his right hand, a loose grasp was evident along the base of the glass. While a limp cigarette rested in between two knuckles, laying gently against a set of lips. The ashes lit up in a firey red color, as the paper began to burn away from the end. Smoke once again rose up into the air, as the cigarette was moved away from the face of this mystery man. The wine glass rose up as it was instantly filled once more. As the simple nod in thanks appeared. The waitress could only stare in awe of the mystery man before her. He did not say a thing, nor did he have too. There were looks and hand gestures that were a dime a dozen in these parts that were understood without question. The red eyes of this mysterious man however, were well known among those affiliated in darker ties within the city limits and beyond. A dark history remains hidden from behind those unknown red eyes. Those who've been given the privilege have seen the truth behind this man. And to those who have not, have only been charmed upon that gaze, that foreign tongue speaking a different language. Wooing the women, while making the men jealous with envy. Oh the game was quite known in these parts. Known quite well indeed. Of course it all depended on who all was willing to take a gamble in this dangerous game called life.
