This place was like—it was—an island, and it was humongous. Large enough for Wilson to get easily lost, so he figured it was a smart idea to explore the place for a while so he could get a clearer image of the island. He was sure there was a map for it somewhere—like perhaps a copy in his dorm, but he found none. Not like it would’ve served him as well as he would’ve liked, Wilson found it easier to learn things by doing them for himself. Staring at a map and bumbling around with it wouldn’t teach him much...except he had no clue where he wanted to go to first. He figured there were labs, due to the fact that Dr. H was, well, a doctor, but that was kind of it.

Scratching his head, Wilson looked around as he aimlessly walked.

[Youngin’, what’re you ambling around for?] Gramps seemed miffed. [Shouldn’t you be doing duties or training?]

I don’t know if I’ve been assigned duties yet, and I’m not sure if I want to get to training yet. Those courses look kind of intimidating… Especially the Death hunter one, apparently it was called Deathsweeper. Oh God. “I wanna explore the island for a bit, but I just don’t know where to start…”

[Hey Youngin’ ain’t that your friend? Uhhhh, Ring, was it?] Ryan? Wilson corrected, though he wasn’t entirely sure himself, not until he turned around and spotted the familiar lad. “Oh, Ryan! Hey!” He called out to the other trainee, waving an arm to catch Ryan’s attention.

Ryan had just been making his way back the so called petting zoo, still on the hunt for the cafeteria, when a familiar voice caught his attention.

:Isn't that, that Wilson guy from before?:

Ryan stopped, looking around for the older man. Which didn't take long. A second later and he spotted him, trying to catch his attention as he waved his arms about and tried calling out to him.

"Hey Wilson!" He called back. "What you doing way out here? Going to that petting zoo place?" He still wasn't sure why it was called that, but whatever. "Or... did you get lost like I did?"

Wilson’s expression turned quizzical. “We have a petting zoo? Really?” Of all the things he imagined to be on the island, a petting zoo was one of the last—it wasn’t even on the list. Immediately he became curious about the petting zoo. “You’ll have to tell me more about that, or maybe show me sometime. I’m really curious as to why we have a freaking petting zoo here.”

He shook his head. “Technically, no, I’m not lost yet, but that’s mainly because I don’t know where I want to go.” Wilson shrugged. He had found his dorms, so what should he visit next? “It sounds like there’s a place you want to go. Mind if I tag along?”

"Er... Trust me not the petting petting zoo you're thinking of." He added, clapping him on the back. "More like a lab. I don't know how it got the name 'petting zoo' though." He shrugged. From what Ryan could tell so far, the Life Division was a bit bizarre.

He arched a brow when Wilson answered him. "Yet? Do you plan on getting lost then?" He asked, a grin starting to form on his face. "Oh, sure. I'm actually heading to the cafeteria--or trying to anyways. I think I took a wrong turn again though. You're more than welcome to join me, since you already plan on getting lost and all."

He seemed disappointed when Ryan broke the news to him. “It’s not? That’s a shame, a petting zoo sounds kinda nice right now.” However, Wilson quirked an eyebrow at the realization that the petting zoo was sort of like a lab. “I kind of figured there were labs somewhere on this island, but I never thought it would be the petting zoo.” That was kind of odd, but okay. He wouldn’t question the name, not yet.

Wilson laughed as he placed a hand behind his head. “Well, I wasn’t planning to get lost, but it’s totally possible for me to get lost anyways. The cafeteria, you said?” He rubbed his chin as he peered in the direction that Ryan had just come from and then turned around. “Since you came from that way it’s probably not there, so maybe we should try going this way?” Wilson shrugged. They could also go to Ryan’s left or right, if the other trainee wanted to.

Ryan snorted. "Really? You want a petting zoo?" He asked, amused by this and looking a little thoughtful.

"I'll get you a pet rock to make up for it then--Oh look! There's one now!"

He crouched down close to the ground, scooping up the rock and handing it towards the death hunter. "Now you have a pet! A couple more and you'll have a zoo." He teased, pulling out Wilson's hand and dropping the rock into it with a wide grin.

Grin still in place, he looked in the direction Wilson had pointed in and shrugged. "Well, since I got lost twi-three times in one day, I'll go by your judgement."

Wilson frowned childishly. “Well, petting some fluffy animal sounds comforting right now. Fluffy animals are fluffy and awesome,” he explained. As Ryan bent down to scoop up a rock, Wilson stared at him with a startled expression. What? Baffled, he simply stood there as the moon hunter took his hand and plopped a rock in his hands. His expression remained blank as he switched between looking at the rock and Ryan as he tried to figure out how to react.

Then he broke out into a smile. “Ryan, how did you ever know I always wanted a pet rock?”

[Youngin’, are you serious?] Wilson didn’t respond, leaving the answer up to his partner’s imagination.

“I will name him Ryan Jr. in loving memory of this exact moment.” Okay, Wilson had to be joking now.

He firmly kept the rock in his hands and nodded. “Okay then. Off we go.” Wilson half-nodded in the chosen direction and began to walk.

Ryan paused. Stunned by his reaction.

He was joking right? Seriously? He really wanted a pet rock? That had to be a joke, right? Seriously--it was a rock!

"Hey! Why my name?" He asked, chasing after the other hunter trainee. "You can't pick that--regardless of this special moment." He said, cutting off any complaints Wilson might have said and wrinkled his nose, feigning distaste.

"Besides, it should be something like RoCael, or Dr.R." He shrugged. The names were terrible, but honestly, it was better than using his own name!

It was a joke. Really, but Wilson was far too amused with the idea of a pet rock, so he kept it going. “Since you gave him to me—“ Because clearly this rock was a male and not a female. “—I think I have the right to name him whatever I want, but fine. I’ll change his name.” He crinkled his nose as he pondered other potential names. At first he thought of “Dr. Ryan Jr.” or “Sir Ryan Jr.” but he didn’t think they would fly with Ryan.

Eventually, he figured that “Sir Yan” would do. There was still “Ryan” in it, so long as one removed the “Si” part of it. “How about Sir Yan?” By now, he had walked ahead of Ryan and then he spun around so that he was walking backwards—just like he always did when he wanted to walk and talk at the same time.

Ryan put his face into the palm of his hand, unsure of how to handle these results.

What on earth had he started?

"Sir Yan?" He repeated, giving him a strange look, especially now that he was walking backwards. Wilson had mentioned that it was one of his weird habits, back in the class room. Turns out he wasn't kidding. "You know what I'll say, but since it seems like I'm not gonna' change your mind, I guess I'll have to settle for Sir... Yan..." His voice trailed off a little at the last part. He would have to convince him to choose another name later. Or try to anyways.

"Don't you ever trip doing that?" He asked. "The whole backwards thing I mean..."

Wilson’s smile stretched wider as Ryan buried his face in his hand. He regretted nothing.

“Yes, Sir Yan.” His grin turned cryptic at the moon hunter’s expression. There was no way he was going to explain his twisted logic to Ryan, no when he had so outright rejected “Ryan Jr.” He laughed. “You don’t sound too pleased.”

At his question, he instinctively glanced back to make sure he wasn’t walking into some other hunter—he was confident he wouldn’t be walking into a building anytime soon. “When I was younger I did.” His expression twisted as he imagined the embarrassing memories he had created with this peculiar quirk of his. “I don’t do that anymore, though.” In the distance he saw a building and wondered if it was the cafeteria.

Ryan gave the man a look that clearly said 'nooo really?' and then gave an exasperated sigh, deciding to ignore the rock for the time being. If Wilson wanted to keep it, he had no right to say otherwise---but that name..!

"Ahh, I see." The fact that he looked behind him when this problem about his habit was mentioned, meant that he was not completely confident that he could avoid accidents. "Maybe no, but I bet you five dollars that you'll walk into someone eventually here." He grinned at the death hunter trainee as the building came in view.

"Think that's the cafeteria?" He asked, echoing Wilson's thoughts.

Wilson didn’t often look back in places he was familiar with, like with his hometown or around school campus when he was still a student, but this island was completely foreign to him. It was mostly empty space, but it was so simple to take a misstep that would slowly divert him away from his path, leading him to a place he didn’t want to go.

“Five dollars? Really?” Wilson smirked and held out an open hand. “You can just give it to me now, then. I’m quite confident I won’t bump into anyone.”

“Not sure.” He decided to check by sniffing the air a couple times. There was no guarantee the cafeteria—if it was—would be in use, but at least he smelled a nice, pleasant aroma. “…I think I smell cookies.”

"Hah! You wish!" He crossed his arms over his chest and gave him a look that clearly said the exact same thing.

"I bet you'll trip over something--probably yourself, eventually." He smirked at him before giving the building another curious look.

"I guess it is then." He replied, walking up the steps and pushing the door open.

Immediately he was surrounded by the many different aromas of foods both familiar and strange. One of which was indeed cookies.

:...I'd avoid the cookies.:

Ah right. Ariane had made a bet with something involving cookies from the cafeteria...

"You planning on walking in backwards?"

“I’ve been at this for a long time, boy. I know what I’m doing.” Wilson mirrored Ryan’s smirk. “Dunno, do you want me to?” Regardless, he opted to keep strolling backwards, but took careful note to look backwards so as not to stumble over any fallen items or walk smack dab into some pillar or table. Success!

“Do you know where the cookies are coming from? They smell good.” He drew a hand to his stomach as he sniffed around for the source of the tantalizing aroma. Wilson liked sweet things, but not very many people could resist the temptation of cookies. Eventually the smell took him to a back door and he cautiously opened it.
