Setting:
xxxxxThis RP takes place in a lavish forest at the base of a mountain in what is geographically remote parts of Washington (US). In the base of the mountain, there is a rather large cave that the canine pack uses as their sleeping den. Outside of the den, there is a medium sized, rounded clearing. Beyond that is the forest. Behind the den leads up the mountain, where there are several small plateaus that the canines use to relax and watch the clearing below. There are plenty of small creatures to hunt in both the forest and on the mountain. Lately, though, the large animals have been disappearing, so getting a catch like that is rare, and looked upon well to the hunters. The alphas suspect that other packs are taking their prey, or chasing them away.
xxxxxAs for the weather, it is now fall heading into winter, but not yet cold enough for snow at the base of the mountain. 1500 feet up the mountain is the slight beginning of the snowline…. Mornings and late nights tend to be foggy, but after noon passes, the sun lets through and warms up the forest. Sun sets around 8, and from there a gentle breeze starts up that will slowly bring in that night's fog.

Tranquility walked outside of the den into the pale moonlight and settled on a tuft of grass to relax. A gentle breeze ruffled her fur and she let out a contented sigh

Thunderbolt is sitting at the mouth of the den, starring into the forest and beyond. The air, it smells slightly off and has been bothering him for quite some time, then again, it could be nothing. Sleep will come soon, but for now, he is restless. He spots Tranquility making her way to the den.

❣ Ren walks up and sits next to Thunderbolt, she quietly says, "Something's off..." and looks around, "This fog isn't natural" she tries to make the fog move but can't, "I can't make it move..." she sees Tranquility and looks closely behind her, she thinks she sees a shadow, but once she spots it, it moves. Ren calmly says, "Don't panic, you'll startle it and it'll leave, but I just saw something behind Tranquility." ❣

Strongheart walks out of the den and stretches. She looks at Ren and then sniffs the air. She notices the fog and says, "What's with the fog? I can't smell anything other than us and that's saying something." Strongheart looked at the fog and shivered at the fact her nose was useless. She had been planning on searching for herbs and to hunt a bit, but she didn't know if she'd be able with the fog.

❣ Ren looks at Strongheart and says in a hushed voice, "It's not natural, I can't do anything with it.", she sees something moving over by the tree next to where she thought she saw something before, "Do you see that shadow over there by that tree?" Ren points at the tree, "It looks like a... human... Doesn't it?" she says still speaking in a hushed voice. ❣

Strongheart looks where Ren mentions and nods. She then, asks in a whisper, "What should we do if it is? I really don't feel like fighting, but I don't want to run and look like a coward either. Humans are nothing but trouble for us wolves." Strongheart continued to watch the shadow and her fur bristled.

❣ Ren nods and speaks in a whisper, "Stay here, make sure it doesn't move" she then goes inside to get another wolf. She goes up to the alpha and nudges him to wake him up, "Wake up, i have something to tell you, it's important." She proceeds nudging him until he wakes up. ❣

Strongheart obeyed and continued to watch the shadow. 'What is it? I want to go see, but if it is human it may kill me..... I have to listen to Ren though.' Strongheart thought. She sniffed the air again trying to smell if it was a human, but it was useless, she just couldn't smell anything through the fog. she tried to let her fur lay down, but she was just too afraid of what the shadow was and was hoping that whatever it was didn't attack. She would fight, but she'd have to help care for the other wolves if they got injured as well if there was a fight.

❣ Ren says quite calmly, "There is a fog outside that I can't seem to do anything with, and also there is a strange shadow that looks like a human, I think the shadow, whatever it is, is the cause of the fog, but I wanted to come get you, because I don't really want to fight it if it is a human and Strongheart doesn't like to fight. So I figured the best thing to do was to get you." She then motions for Flame to follow and goes outside and sits next to Strongheart. ❣

Strongheart was still staring at the shadow and jumped slightly when she heard Ren come up beside her. Which caused her fur to fluff out even more. "Sorry I jumped, but I'm just on edge because I don't know what that thing is." she whispered to Ren.
