What is an official role-player?
Official room role-players are people who stick to that room like mosquitoes on a fat kid. That should be the main room you role play in, however, if you should decide during the even that you'd prefer another room then just let us know. As long as you're one of *our* role-players, though, we get dibs on your posting ;3
All that's expected of you is to simply role-play in our room. You will know what the plot is and all the characters, but your character will be a guest. You have complete freedom in making your character just like any ball participant -- you could be a regular joe-schmoe, a demon, a vampire, a pokemon, or even fit yourself into the room plot as a bystander (in this case that would be as simple as being a knight or a nobleperson, anything medieval). You can even be a space pirate that's come to earth to reclaim his lost children who have been frolicking around on the planet with super-human abilities caused by the genetic alterations that you passed on to them through cosmic radiation... so long as you are role playing in our room and, if need be, helping the plot to progress.
Official room role-players don't have the same responsibilities as a co-host or host, but it doesn't hurt to lend a hand. If there is a situation to be dealt with (phisher, troll, etc.) then leave it to a co-host.. however, if there's a guest that's confused and asking questions then it would be greatly appreciated if you could help them out as you will have knowledge that the other guests do not have (as in, where the contests are located, how the rules work, etc.).
And finally, what's the advantage to being an Official room role-player?
Why, let me tell you! Aside from getting to hang out with us cool kids and help plan the event, and besides being privy to thinking like contest outcomes, events and plot, you may get the chance to become a co-host. Should something ill befall a co-host during the year and they find themselves unable to continue with the ball then it's to the official room role-players that we look to. If you're up for it, then being an official room role-players can lead to some exciting positions in the Annual Ball and reflect well on your participation for the next one!

Personally, I prefer that role playing be done in story-telling format with past tense and speech in quotation marks rather than with astericks. IF you are so uncomfortable with that method that you don't think you could do it then feel free to post a sample however you are most comfortable, but keep in mind that literate to semi-lit applicants will likely be considered first.
2. Ideas for the room.
- it's not required, but checking up on what we've already got planned for contests or plot would benefit you so you have the chance to come up with something we may not have thought of already.
