As usual Bix's door was open. It was only ever really closed when he needed privacy or when he was sure that others wouldn't care to see what he was doing in there. The week following their mission his door had stayed closed but since Gale had come to him to talk and Madison and he had shared a hair cutting session, he'd just ignored the somber mood and left the door open again.

There was a bit of a new energy in him since the 'hatchlings' arrived and unknown people began to mill around the halls and move into their dorm rooms. They'd only woken up yesterday but news spread fast and he was lucky enough to be there when it happened.

Bix was sitting at his perfectly organized desk, face resting on his fist as he read a large guide book on D&D monsters. It really made him want to play in lieu of the video games they didn't have. Maybe Cass would be interested? He'd never played D&D on paper before, only the video games. His braid hung down his back but was about 6 inches shorter, after his trim, than it was before their mission. He was wearing a brown t-shirt with Domo-kun's chomping visage on it and a pair of deus-issued grey sweat pants.

There was nothing much different about his room than anyone elses except for the fact that it was impeccably clean and organized and a blue and white lantern shaped like a fish hung over his dresser. He'd gotten it at Florestival and while he still wanted to kill every Halloweener, the lantern was just made of paper and a nice decoration for the bland dorm.

Bix was so absorbed in the article on dragon species, that he didn't see Before approach.

Bix jumped in his chair as always. He pretty much jumped if anything popped out of nowhere or came up behind him. It seemed to be a reaction he couldn't help.

"Oh hey." Bix's head popped up with a grin for Before. "C'mon in you know you can come in whenever." He didn't want his friend just standing around in the hall.

"What's going on?" He hadn't seen his buddy since the mission. There were still bandages all over Bix's back but all that was visible was a bit of bandaging up the back of his neck and some on the backs of his upper arms due to his clothing.

No explanation needed for Bix. He liked hanging out with his buddies. He patted his bed for Before to have a seat. Bix put a piece of paper on his page and closed the book, setting it perfectly aligned on top of all the others.

"Did you hear? About the hatchlings?" He leaned back a moment but then pulled forwards. The scratches on his back hurt more than anything, from the claws of the beast, so he was avoiding leaning into it. "A whole bunch of new kids woke up. No betas though.. well I don't think there were any. I was on pod duty.. so that's pretty cool."

"Well I mean.." Bix scratched his head. "I don't know what they look like. Plus I ended up having to answer their questions and stuff. Dr. H did his 'shooting Clarice in the head' thing again. They were sorta freaked. I am sure Bee and Thor are fine." He gave his bro a smile and shifted to scoot back, pulling his legs up and putting the pillow between his back and the wall. He made a small face as he felt a slight sting but he felt almost 100% back to normal at this point.

"Who did you meet? Was it a SHE? WAS SHE CUTE?"

"Hmm not sure which he was. There were a few guys.." Bix obviously looked at the girls more. "I think theres a whole bunch more Death Hunters.." Only because they had been pointed out.

Bix did fall silent for a minute and looked over at Before with a scrutinizing expression. The other seemed a bit sullen, not his usually spastic self. "You doing okay?" He figured this was related to their last mission.

"Hey... you know. Things happen. It was crazy out there." Things like throwing yourself on top of your friend and 'dying' in his place. Bix wouldn't really bring it up himself. He sort of looked at his feet when he did finally glance up and just gave Before a smile.

"Don't worry about it. We're bros. Everything is fine now." What else could he say? Apparently he and Before were not very good at these heart to hearts.

"Just forget about it.." Bix muttered. "Everything worked out." The debt was from the island, when Before had given him his pendant and told him to run. He'd saved himself and saved Bee and left his bro behind. But Bix knew better than to claim or imply that it was the end of it. He'd do the same for any of his friends.

Maybe Before could sense that or perhaps he'd already seen the way Bix seemed to throw himself in front of danger for others. It was in his nature to try and help those younger or smaller than him and he couldn't really help it.
