Gale had discovered two very important things when it came to battling Marcus:
1) He'd now gotten his arse kicked not once, but twice.
and
2) Brute force was better than shooting.
Which was why, despite the flabbergasted, exasperated protests and mocking from Jinhai, Gale had asked, one last time, to fight Marcus Hasan.
Clearly he was losing his mind.

He had to give Gale credit where credit was due, the kid was king at determination and spunk. Kid was relative but he was younger and Marcus was feeling cheeky. Still, Gale wasn't going to give up and back down. Good on him for that.
"Have to admit-" his sword was summoned, blue glow lingering. "Thought you might want a break."

Once more the moon hunter took the iniative and went first to land a strike on gale. Dis was sighing telling him be gentle, they didn't want to mar his pretty face.
Marcus thought was didn't kill him would make him stronger.

Even if it might have been a sparring match, the fact was it felt good. They both wanted to get better, and they both wanted to progress. This was just a way to improve. And to see if Gale might be able to get back to the dorms on his own this time.

Despite the fact that he had now lost to Marcus not once, but twice, Gale still felt good - mostly because he felt as though he were growing better with each hit.

Marcus' kick was another glancing blow, but considering how badly Gale was doing, it managed to successfully knock him backwards several steps.
Dammit.
Gale swung the rifle around like a bat, letting it connect with one of Marcus' legs.

"We always go for limbs don't we?" Well they did. Plus they were easy targets. And face and crotch shots were just plain cheap and low.
They may be hunters, but they most certainly were not dirty fighters. Just why he went for Gale's arm again.
