Uaithne headed into the library of the academy, looking around at all of the books with a sense of awe and wonderment. Back home they had a shelf of books in their house on a variety of subjects but that had been nothing compared to what they had here. He turned his head from one side to the other, looking thoughtful, and lifted a hand to chew on his thumbnail in a thoughtful manner, "This place is big." He murmured to himself and to the strange looking, if beautiful, plant that he was carrying in a pot. He'd found it while out on his most recent journey into the woods and had brought it home with him. The problem being he had no idea what it was... to best take care of his new floral friend he'd headed to the library to study up on it. Best to know what it was, if it were dangerous, and how best to keep it healthy and happy.
"Let's see what we can find." He said, looking from side to side before he started into the place. It was quiet today, then again the library had always seemed quiet. He found an empty table to set the potted plant down on, giving it a smile, "Wait here while I get some books. Wait here for me." As though the plant might wander off. You never knew though, there were all sorts of strange things out in the world and he wouldn't put it passed the plant to get up and walk away if it were a magical sort of flower.
Moving toward where he knew the books on gardening, flowers, and nature in general were located he couldn't help but to get excited. There were so many books here on his favorite subject and he wanted to get in as much reading as possible while he was still here at the academy and had access to them. He would gather as many books as he could carry on the local species of plants and see if he could find a picture of this particular one in those books. The moment he stepped into the right aisle his brightly colored eyes were scanning the shelves for the particular books that he was after, eager for an answer to the question that was number one in his mind at the moment. What sort of flower had he brought back with him?

The green haired boy wasn't the only one eager to get to the library. Trailing behind him about ten minutes off was Athir, carrying three moderate sized books in his arms, hugged to his chest. His long golden hair swung lightly with each fluid step, shoes making a staccato clip, echoing briefly through the long corridor leading to various doors holding varying rooms. In the center of the hall was the library's grand doors, one's he knew quite well. Those gray eyes seemed to gleam a little brighter the closer he got, pace picking up a small notch above what it had been.
Carefully, he opened the doors into the grand room, instantly met with a sense of comfort, and invitation. His gaze gave a respectful scan over the fantastic interior, inhaling deeply, and strode on in. A kind smile was given to him by the librarian at her desk, Athir returning it just the same. He'd grown a reputation with the librarian's here, and they all had nothing but good things to say of him. They were also always very helpful when he needed assistance or any type of help. It made the shy boy feel very relaxed as opposed to being more withdrawn. He headed for the book drop off first, placing his small stack into a large crate that had other books to be returned, where they would be levitated back into their rightful places. With that out of the way, Athir turned again to head for the aisles of beautiful, wonderful books.
The first aisle he chose was also the one full of all one needed to know about plant life. He'd found a path he wanted to pursue and follow, and flora were a big part of the art of healing. He noticed straight away the other boy that was there, giving a polite smile, before looking amongst the book spines, making sure not to get in his fellow peer's way. His eyes settled upon a peticular book, hand soon to follow and slide the precious item out of it's slot. Opening it on his free palm, he began thumbing through, and giving a scan of the contents. It held a great deal of information of mountain wild grasses, flowers, and herbs that could be found. He'd never been to the mountains before.. but that was where a lot of rare plants resided. It seemed a good choice to start with.

Uaithne had a couple of thick, heavy books on various plants already in his arms already by the time Athir joined him in the aisle he was browsing but was still looking for more. Given the strange nature of the plant he'd found and brought back with him he wasn't sure how many books he might need to figure out what it might be. As such he was all for getting as many as he could carry to bring back to the table. Reaching out he picked up another book, this one entitled 'Wild Flowers of the North' which sounded promising provided what he found was native to this area and not just a fluke.
"Wonder if this will be enough." He mused allowed to himself, looking at the three books in a thoughtful manner. Seeing that there was another student in this aisle looking for similar books to him it would be rude for him to take them all. He wondered if he should offer the other boy a seat at his table? That way they could share the books... at the same time he didn't know him and that made it a touch more difficult to find his voice. Why was it so much easier for him to talk to plants then it was for him to talk to the other students? The answer came to him quickly, because he grew up around plants, not people. The only person in his life for the most part had been Gram after all. Shaking his head he turned back to the books in front of him, starring at their titles while he tried to muster the needed amount of courage to offer up such an invitation.
As he starred at the titles another stood out of him 'Chasing Wildflowers'. Well... that was what he was doing, right? He gave a nod before reaching out for that book as well. What was one more if he meant to share, right? Now all he had to do was just that, share. Turning toward the other boy again he gave him a momentary glance then back to starring at the books. How to go about this? Just do it he told himself, drawing in a breath then spoke, "I don't want to hog all the books on flowers so if you need any of what I have I don't mind sharing." He said to Athir after he'd found his voice, "I'm am just trying to find the name of an interesting one I brought back with me." Maybe unneeded information but at the same time if the other student was interested in plants and flowers maybe he would know the one Uaithne had found? That would make things a lot easier, wouldn't it?

Fingering along the pages slowly, giving a semi-thorough investigation to the current literature in hand, he almost forgot about the other boy in the same aisle as him. After a good look through the material, he decided that it would make an excellent addition to his studies and knowledge. Tucking it on his folded arm securely, Athir casually walked further down the lane, gray eyes flashing up and down, side to side as spines were read.
There had been a specific book he wanted to try and find. But so far he couldn't see it... perhaps it had been checked out? He didn't look at the roster upon coming into the library, only remembering the book from class, and his teacher bringing it up. But his attention was deterred as the other student spoke, his attention finally redirecting to him head on. The offer was so very kind, and generous, Athir could't help but to smile in return. "I thank you kindly." he replied, with an appreciative nod. His gaze also traveled on over to the table that Uaithne had chosen, eyes instantly stopping on the potted plant. How curious... it felt.. somewhat familiar. Had he seen this one before? staring at it a bit longer than he'd intended to, he had to blink a few times to snap himself out of the sort of trance he'd gotten stuck in. Looking back at his fellow peer, the golden haired boy smiled sincerely, "Maybe.. I can help you?" he asked, taking a few steps closer to the other, "Is it the one over there? at that desk..?" his free arm lifted to give a point towards the plant, truly fascinated by it. "I've... been studying plants, for healing, and medicine.. I feel as though I might have seen it before.." his voice was soft, as always, and his words placed carefully as he spoke, mind already churning to try and come up with a correct answer. Again, he faded out of that trance, once again back on the other pupil, "Two of us looking for it will surely be more effective." he chimed, that sweet smile curling on his lips.

When the boy thanked him for the offer he gave a smile and a nod, glad to have gotten the words out since the other student seemed as though he appreciated the offer. He smiled then turned back to looking up at the tall shelves to see if there was anything else that stood out to him as ones that he should bring back to the table with him. He turned back to the other boy as he said that he might be able to help Uaithne in identifying the plant that he'd found and he turned to look over at him, starring for a moment, then smiled, "Really? That would be wonderful. I'd like to make a positive identification, just in case it's dangerous in any way."
As his fellow student motioned to the potted plant that was sitting on the table, glad to see that it hadn't wandered off, before he nodded, "That's the one. I just got back from the forest with it." He said, giving a happy smile when the boy said that he felt as though he'd seen it before. That was good, right? That meant that it might have healing properties! Though he supposed that also meant it could be dangerous and the other witchling knew of it because he'd read about an antidote. As it was though Uaithne was feeling perfectly fine so he might be jumping to conclusions, "Any help is more then appreciated." He said, shifting his books into one hand so that he could push some of his green locks of hair out of his eyes, tucking it behind his ear before offering the hand to his new found helper, "I'm Uaithne Cahal." He introduced himself, realizing that it was important that he did so since this person was being kind enough to help him out in this instance.
Shifting his books once more in his hands he walked over to the table, setting the books down before he leaned in closer to stare at the plant again, "So, we got lots of books so I am going to figure out what you are. You can't keep it secret much longer." He told the potted plant.
It was no shock at all but the plant remained silent where it sat in the pot even as Uaithne claimed that they would be figuring it out.
