Before couldn't believe what he'd seen. He hadn't heard there were new faces so him turning round the corner and spotting Bix emerge from the room followed by fresh blood surprised him. He stood in place, observing and trying to get a good look and was, quite frankly, blown away when he saw one guy emerge practically up to his elbows with girls. Okay just two beside him and one following but still! That was amazing!
He would have approached them right then and there but he got cold feet :< So it was some time later that he went looking for the new trainee. Spotting him, Before gave a cheery, "Yo! Hey! New-guy! Hiiiiiii!!!"

Otto stopped dead in his tracks as he heard an overly cheery greeting directed at him. He kept still for a while, and eventually turned his cold, icy gaze to the brown haired guy. What was his deal? High on sunshine? What sunshine? There was never sunshine. His gaze narrowed into a thin glare, not even thinking about speaking yet. Before needed to know good and well that Otto hated him without even having had a chance to attempt a good impression.
"....What do you want?" He asked in a tone that dripped with venom, as if Before had just insulted his ancestors by daring to approach.

Something had to be said about all those ******** missions he'd been on as well as having trained under Boss-Dude-Caelius. It's made these sorts of human interaction less life-threatening. Also: Before had something of a rose-tinted glasses mindset on at the moment. Bonding with his Bros was a great emotional life preserver. So that death-glare Otto was giving him? Before only had this expression in response: 83333
At the question, Before produced a notepad and pencil and jotted something down before answering, "I'd like for you to teach me to be awesome with girls." What? First observation revealed one should be straightforward and badass about it. However, Before was under no delusion he could pull the badass part just yet.

This kid was creeping Otto out. His gaze remained the same save for one eye becoming slightly wider as he raised a brow at the look Before gave him. No, seriously, what was he on?!
He watched him with little movement of his own as Before brought out a note book. Otto's intense stare was almost cat like as he narrowed his gaze. "Um, what?" He asked incredulously. "What makes you think I know anything about girls?" Like, really? This dude was even taking notes?
"Uh.. dunno if ya noticed, but I ain't exactly been here long."

Before gave a sigh as he rolled his eyes. "Uh, duh, I know you're new. Hence new-guy," he laughed, his expression boiling down to emotion_awesome suggesting that he was possibly mocking the newbie. Okay, maybe just a tad for the whole "New-guy" thing but Before remembered quickly enough he was asking for a favor.
He cough, suddenly looking very serious, "I saw you come outta the Orientation room. You looked like you had, like, a girl on each arm, and then a third was following after you. Even though, like you said, you're new!"

Otto's flat expression was flat. Like a prairie. He eyes remained lidded and disinterested even as Before seemed to mock him for a moment.
"Oh.. them." Otto scoffed, rolling his eyes. "Those two chics are nuts.You can have 'em."
"In fact, since I'm such a helpful dude, I'll let ya know; They're called Eva and uh.. Reine, I think." Yep, so helpful. "Go. Go play with 'em." And maybe they'll stop bugging him.

Teal eyes blinked at the oh-so-generous offer then he frowned 8CCCCC "Gonna raincheck on that 'cuz they're, uh, they're not really my type. 'Sides, I'm here to get schooled." he insisted. Maybe he should have used a different terminology?

"Yeah sure. I'll school ya, dweeb." Otto grouched, kicking the boy in the shin; hard. "Now, Git outta my face. Class dismissed."
Helpful Otto was helpful.
What? He already told the guy he knew nothing about girls or hitting on them or whatever. Any advice he could give involved how to piss people off. Obviously those girls had a screw loose, or just loved to pick on him.
He was betting on the latter.

It was less a yelp and more a squeak that emerged from Before's mouth when Otto's foot struck his shin. Rubbing the spot, Before looked like he understood what the new trainee was telling him. "I get it, I get it. Was sortuva hoping it'd turn out different but it can't be helped," he grumbled as he straightened himself. He suddenly pointed an accusing finger at Otto, "I gotta beat you first before you'll take me on as your apprentice!"
Okay maybe he didn't understand. Either that, Before must have watched one too many Kung Fu movies...

Was there no limit to how dense Before was? Otto stared at the finger pointed at him, cold eyes calculating his demise. Silently, he came to a conclusion as his gaze lifted from his hand to the one who was attached to said hand.
"Yeah. Sure. Whatever. Fight me n' win, then I'll teach ya all I know." Which meant he'd teach him all the bad things. All of the bad things. He almost wanted to lose just so he could mess this guy up royally.
However, he would never let someone win.

The extended hand suddenly made to grab Otto and drag him all the way to the Gym. Naturally Before was excitedly chattering about how awesome this was going to be, "Seriously, win or lose, I'm totes stoked for this!" 8DDDDDD
Then it occurs to him that maybe the new trainee didn't have a weapon yet. Uh, oops. OH WELLZ~ too late for that, Before thinks as he pushed the doors to the Gym open and summoned Vanna. This was nothing like his fight with Candace or Gale. The former was unwanted and forced, the latter was spontaneous and random.
This time, he had a purpose! "Oh yeah, the name's Before," he gestured to himself with his thumb, his other hand holding the wheel. Then both hands were on the weapon as he gave a swing at Otto.
HP: 40/40

Otto grouched the whole way to the Gym, along the lines of "Git yer paws offa me!" and "I'm gonna destroy you!"
Once they reached the Gym, Otto stood with his arms crossed and curling his lip at Before. "That's a stupid name." Otto grouched, snorting. Silly Before, that's a word, not a name! "I'm Otto."
He didn't summon his weapon right off the bat, letting Before summon his first. What was that? A Wheel? What a stupid looking weap----"OOW SUNNUVA!" That wheel thing hurt! "Tch, oh it's on."
The young blond reached out his hand, the bangle on his wrist jingling before disappearing entirely, forming into a giant, over sized Boomerang. "Yer goin' down, bub!"
Otto sharged forward, swinging the weapon down on Before.

"Auto as in 'Matic?" he chirped. "And Before's an awesome name. It's got history to it and-" okay enough talking, that holy ******** s**t that is a HUGE WEAPON!!!! It reminded him of Clarice's partner and Before was even more determined to be Otto's apprentice! As the BAB (big a** boomerang) swung down, Before swiftly brought Vanna up to block. He had to admit, having faced off against Candace had its merits. It made dealing with Otto seem like a cake walk emotionally speaking.
Still, Otto had taken a mean swing and even with his partner absorbing most of the blow, Before felt his arms being shoved into their sockets from the force. Go down, huh? Before did as Otto ordered, suddenly dropping to one knee in an attempt to unbalance the new trainee, while the other extended trying to sweep his opponent off his feet.
Of course... Before might have just ended up stepping on Otto's feet. What? Before never claimed to have the right moves :/

The young man cursed and pulled his foot away, taking a few steps back. That brat just stomped on his foot! Lousy sunnuva---
Otto took a step forward and brought the boomerang down on Before again. He seemed to prefer using it as a club. Less chance to be separated from his weapon, and it was just more his style.

"Duuuuuuuuuude, that's a palindrome name!!!" Before declared, becoming far more excited by the discovery than he should. The Life Hunter trainee took joys in the little things. Like being able to breathe and not having a crazed fellow-trainee try to "toughen him up" without his consent. Before believed wholeheartedly he needed the toughening up.
He just wanted to be given the heads up that was not in the form of getting a scythe in his face. Right now, though, he was getting a boomerang to the face. Rubbing the impression Otto's weapon left on him (a steel-wrought face twisted in disapproval at this), Before decided to have Vanna do the same as he thrust his weapon forward.
Straight for Otto's face.
"Vanna says Hi~" he grinned ^w^
