Bix had been on his way to the training fields for target practice. He was thinking, concentrating, completely unaware of the things around him. The albino hunter was idly tossing a small bag of marbles, the unsummoned form of his weapon. He didn't even see the staff weapon hurtling towards him.

It was only when it flew into his eyeshot, straight at his foot, that he screamed a bit ( a little like a girl ) and hopped up in the air. The blade buried into the ground where his left foot had been a minute before.

"JEEZUS."

Way to go Bix. Way to look like a wimpy idiot in front of one of the attractive new girls. He ran his hands in his bangs and gave an awkward, embarrassed smile. "Oh I always jump like that. I mean.. not always.. when stuff flies out of nowhere.. you know what I mean." The whole authoritative attitude from the intro-meeting seemed gone.

"You went to the cove, huh? Sorry what was your name?"

I can't tell if you are trying to hit on her ssssssomehow.
We're just talking. Jeez.

"You should be more careful with that... uhh.. spear? wand? Spwand?"

Bix smirked a bit when she latched onto the Spwand idea. Most people would look at him strange at the very least. "I was going to go for target practice." He tossed the bag of marbles again. Realizing she had no idea what that was, he dumped the marbles into his palm and tucked their leather bag into his jacket.

"This is Mina." He held the marbles between his fingers and there was a flash of light as his bow formed into his hand. It was golden with large scarlet orbs and lined with snowy white feathers. "She's an albino too." He wiggled the bow a bit but smiled. When he'd learned that fact about his bow it endeared to him even more.

"Do you know what Chara was before?" Monster.. ghost.. etc. Did she even know that much about her weapon yet?

"All the weapons used to be one of them." The things they were fighting. Do the hatchlings know about Halloween? They certainly knew they were fighting dark things. "We have the technology to turn them into weapons." The weapon would have told her as much in time, even if they were fresh out of the pod.

"Mina was a Quetzlcoatl.. south american feathered serpent thing.." She hissed in his head at the nonchalant manner in which he spoke about her species.

"I don't know how Chara is but.. Mina helps me sometimes. Because they were creatures before they know a lot about them. Pretty helpful." The fact the weapons were entire living beings who were in your head and had their own personalities? That was a drawback. You would never be alone again.

"How are you liking the uh..." He pointed to her head. "Voice in your head thing?"

Bix kept to himself that he'd seen the machine. He kept to himself that the monsters were just shoved in. There wasn't volunteering or contracts or talks. it was a monster and then it was stuck in a tube and then it screamed and then it was a weapon. Bix could only imagine what sort of haughty, pretty little ghoul Mina had been. What had it been like for her?

Mina stayed silent for this.

"Don't worry though. They are with us. On our side." Images of Red and that weapon, merged, killing everything in sight danced through his head unbidden. "Really. She chose you, remember."

Bix smiled a bit when she mentioned talking to herself. "You should practice talking in your head. You may space out, but at least no one will hear your conversation. You just sort of imagine what you are going to say."

"I was just killing time. You want to come with? it's not far." Bix was feeling pretty good about himself with girls coming to ask him for help. She clearly didn't seek him out but she did ask like he was some sort of authority.

Hahahahaha. You.
Shut up.. he whined a bit at her.

"Well ummm." C'mon Bix. Sound sure of yourself. "If I were you I would just try using it. I mean it's got a glowy end and a stabby end. So start trying to stab with it. Your weapon will build up a charge when it hits something filled with FEAR. Usually 3 hits does it."

It took a second but he stopped. "You guys don't even know about FEAR yet.. do you?"

"How about I'll explain stuff on the way there, and then maybe we can have a practice fight?" Bix had a little more fighting experience so maybe he could help her figure out her weapon. "Don't worry about us hurting eachother. Our weapons create a shield for us. You can't see it but when you get hit you will know it's there." He smiled.

Shut up. She was making him self conscious.
How dare you.. all I do for you..

"Do you have any questions right off the bat?" Bix was leading them on a foot path away from the dorm building. It led towards another building off to the right with large fields attached on the left. In the distance tiny white coated figures were battling with each other and with wooden dummies.
