Vonali was feeling claustophobic so she headed outside with a few bits of food out to the courtyard for a bit of fresh air. Stepping out onto the grass felt like freedom to Vonali and she inhaled deeply. She found a nearby tree and sat down in the shade to enjoy her food and the day.
As she ate her thoughts wandered back to the people she'd met so far this year and while making new contacts was good she missed hanging out with Marc, Kenny, and Violet. She sighed heavily wishing things hadn't gotten so awkward.

Cecilia was just doing her daily walk around the grounds again--Hogwarts really was just in the loveliest of spots! She could help but relish the feeling of the sun on her face and a gentle breeze running through her hair. We should have more of these places around the mansion... Cecilia noted. Come to think of it, the gardens at home, no matter the magnificence of the roses or the green-ness of the grass, never seemed this perfect.... Perhaps it was because her mother insufferable poked and prodded at the poor flowers--or rather the poor gardener--to make sure everything was perfect and symmetrical. It created a superficial feeling that Cecilia greatly disliked... It was like she wa surrounded by too much order--which really was quite a silly thought, considering the fact Cecilia prided herself in being so orderly!
Just as Cecilia walked past a few trees, her eyes glimpsed familiar black hair. "Excuse me? Vonali?" Cecilia started softly so she wouldn't startle the other girl... From this angle, Cecilia couldn't be positive, but the girl wa in Slytherin and styled those freckles that one of her relatives, Vonali, had. They were related by some long and estranged line--but Vonali wasn't really emphasized in her family tree--partly because she wasn't a pureblood. Its quite a shame that my family is so shortsighted... Cecilia thought it was regrettable! Vonali was such a nice girl!

Vonali had settled down and was enjoying the silence ignoring any who happened to walk by. She'd yanked her ponytail out and had just finished brushing it out when a familiar voice called her name. With a deep breath she returned to her nonchalant demeanor and looked the girl up and down. " Yea it's me. What's up Cuz?" She pretty much just regulated all her relatives to the status of cousin after all having one whole side pure there were a lot of them.

"So it is you, Vonali! It's so nice to see you--I feel like its been forever since we've seen each other!" Cecilia said happily, bouncing a little with excitement. It had been so long! Perhaps years, even! "I heard that you were housed in Slytherin--congratulations! I'm a bit envious, truly." Cecilia spoke earnestly, a sheepish grin on her face. It would have made mother happier, at least! But Cecilia, despite appearances, acted nothing like her mother--she wasn't as cunning and crafty! At times, she was envious--Cevilia always seemed to be completely outmatched by her thinking! "I'm in Hufflepuff--as much as my parents might disapprove, I think it suits me. I'm far too naive for Slytherin!" Cecilia giggled a little bit, still happy to have seen Vonali. She felt more at ease talking to someone she knew-it was a comfort in the midst of all these new faces. "But here I am--babbling too much! How rude of me!--how have you been?"

Von barely stopped herself from rolling her eyes. Of course it'd been awhile, ever since her mother's secret came out most of her father's family quit talking to them. She managed the smallest of smiles and nodded confirmation that she'd been placed in the familial house.
Von watched as Ceci's emotions flashed over her face. She wouldn't have done well in Slytherin but being sorted into Huffle must have been a slap to the girl's parents. Good they needed one. Von shook her head as the girl confirmed Von's observations. " You're alright Cuz. I've been doing alright. Please sit and we can catch up."
Von may have appeared friendly but inside she was remembering her current discussion with Quil about a Hufflepuff, what luck she had family in there. " Are you enjoying school?" Must make friendly with the contacts, always good policy.

Cecilia smiled innocently at her, "Thank you," she took a seat down underneath the tree next to Vonali. I'm glad she's just as nice as I remembered, Cecilia though happily, even more enthusiastic when Vonali failed to make any sort of remark towards her being sorted in Hufflepuff--as anyone could have guessed, her parents took that well.
"School's been alright for me--It's a bit odd that the staircases move though--I can't imagine what sort of architect would think that was a genius idea," Cecilia nodded with an amused giggle, "But in all honestly, I wish my sense of direction was better... Those staircases are going to be the death of me," Cecilia stated with a sad grimace, "I ended up in one of the forbidden areas yesterday and I was so terrified," Cecilia spoke earnestly, remembering all the creepy crawlies that she had encountered. Who even makes statues like those?! Cecilia shook her head of the image. "Luckily, I was able to convince the professor who found me that it was all just an accident--I was surprised, actually, my mother said all the teachers were terrible skeptics of whatever you're doing..."

Vonali internally shook her head thankful that Ceci hadn't made it into Slytherin. " The stairs aren't that bad. And I have no doubt the Professor believed you." Ceci's mother was probably an accomplished liar while Von didn't think Ceci could lie even if her life depended on it.
" Made any friends in your house yet?" Now Von could start gathering information. Ceci seemed like the type of girl who liked to chatter about the current activities.
Sometimes it drove her nuts to know that one such as Ceci was accepted while Vonali was an outcast. She shared many of the family's respected traits but because her mother lied she was being punished. It wasn't fair! And Von had vowed her revenge and she could be patient to get it.
