The night was the coldest that it had been so far this autumn season and Lenka was very, very chilly. She was in the park, swinging on the swings, humming a very off-key Christmas song…or at least what was once a Christmas song. It was still early, only just around Eleven, but she was getting very sleepy in the cold…and wondered if she went home if her mom would make her some hot chocolate if she pretended to have a nightmare or something.

Sounded like a good plan to her!

The child hopped off of the swing and began walking, arms crossed around her, rubbing at her shoulders, shivering just slightly. Why did it have to get so cold? And why did she have to not have sleeves? Or pants for that matter…It made it rather uncomfortable…and she doubted it would get any better with the winter months quickly approaching

Remarque did not particularly care for Christmas, more so when it was still early November when the tunes were assaulting his ears. It didn’t help that the aura accompanying such a tune was that of an order aligned senshi.

He was cold, but ignored it—instead deciding it would be a good idea to poke around and see who it was that was disrupting his otherwise bland evening of energy collecting. At first, he’d just intended to spy—until he almost walked straight into the girl.

The very familiar girl.

“Lenka,” he greeted apparently familiar with the child he’d sent off in tears a good few days ago. There was a sort of satisfaction that he’d run into someone that was absolutely not a threat—after all his run ins, he was glad to find someone that didn’t serve as a real challenge; it was a nice break from real opponents and the too easy task of collecting energy from drunks “…Fancy meeting you here. What are you doing here, aren’t you supposed to be in bed sleeping?”

The child stopped mid hum and looked up at the voice, freezing and just staring. What…Oh no…It was the scary monster guy…she really didn’t like him…at all.

Lenka bristled now and summoned her watermelon rind, trembling just slightly. “No. I’m trying to protect the world because it’s my job. What are you doing out here…? Shouldn’t you be…at home sleeping? Because…bad guys should sleep more…”

She swallowed then cleared her throat. “Maybe if you got more sleep you wouldn’t be so mean! Maybe it’s because you’re sleepy that you’re so mean! Get some sleep and get less evil, stupid bad guy!” Yeah. That was the way to do it! Tell him off! Maybe..he’d decide not to be such a bad guy anymore! Yeah!

She was a super hero. He would see that and he would change his ways...She wasn't just a little kid anymore. She was a hero! She wasn't going to cry...this time.

Remarque looked down at her, tilting his head a bit. “Where do you get off calling me any of those things?” he demanded, hands clenching into fists. He hadn’t forgiven the girl for the bruises she’d given him last time, no matter how stupid a grudge it was. “I warned you about getting in my way, you little brat, I’m not going to stand here and let you throw around insults like that. I gave you plenty of opportunity to stay out of my way and run—I gave you warning, even.”

He’d have thought that the little girl wouldn’t have been a problem after last time; he’d made a damn good job of chasing her off during their last meeting, and assumed that if they’d ever run into each other she’d just bolt and leave him alone. “You’re the one that ought to be in bed by now, how do you think your parents are going to feel when you don’t make it home tonight?” he growled, glaring down at the girl.

There was something just downright infuriating about a little girl insulting him; like she thought she had the authority to speak down to him when he could just step on her. She was hardly even half his height—where the hell did she get that mouth?

The senshi swallowed then just shook her head. “I’m not afraid of you, you big bully! You can’t scare me with those threats!” She was stronger…she had a team, and she had Qui-Gon who was there to protect her now too! She wasn’t just a lone little melon on her own anymore. “Lenka boomarind!” The child threw her rind as hard as she could at Remarque, hoping to once again hit him in the head, to show him that she really wasn’t afraid of him now. To prove she was a stronger hero now.

After all, she had battled the other bad guy…and those goats! She had so many more fights under her belt…why shouldn’t she brag and show her strength to this stupid head now!

“You’ll be sorry you crossed me! I’m not going to run away crying this time, Remarque! I’m going to beat you and push you down!”

She really hoped she could make her threats a reality…or this would be a very short fight…she did—after all…want to make it home and stay alive.

There was a sudden stinging, throbbing pain as the watermelon collided with his face. He didn’t fall back or cringe; his eyes were still squeezed shut from the impact when the watermelon rind clattered to the ground by his feet. His lip twitched in agitation and his eyes slowly opened. Already, there was a red mark appearing where the watermelon had hit him, and everything about him radiated irritation.

His hands were clenched into fists at his sides, and it looked like he hadn’t drawn in a breath for a long few seconds. Sans the twitch of his lips, his face was blank and his stare cold.

“You little brat,” he seethed after drawing in a slow—barely calming—breath. “You watch who you ******** with. I don’t care if you’re a God damned girl or a God damned child, don’t get in my way!”

He only had to take one step forward to strike her; she wasn’t at a good height for him to punch, so he did the next best thing: he kicked her. His shin collided with her side with enough force that it was clear she had pissed him off—badly—and that he had absolutely no intention of going easy on her after her valiant display.

Ow…Ow that hurt! The chibi senshi let out a cry and flew backwards a good four feet before falling to the ground with a loud thump. Tears welled up in her eyes and she opened her mouth to say something…anything witty back to him, but all that came out was a half broken sob.

Why was he so mean? He said a bad word too! He was really going to kill her, wasn’t he? She was just a little kid! Where was Camelot…where was her Qui-gon…surely he would come rescue her…right? That’s what Jedi Masters were supposed to do.

Lenka sniffled, then just burst into tears, sobbing uncontrollably, holding onto her now throbbing side and trying to wipe the river of tears from her eyes.

Ow.

"Step away from the child. Now."

A voice called from the shadow of a tree. Magnetite stepped out, fully powered up and bokken in hand.

If Lenka had been hoping for a Jedi Master, she would have to settle for a sith apprentice. Magnetite was not about to stand and watch while this punk kicked the crap out of a little girl.

"Do not make me repeat myself."

He put the bokken in both his hands, assuming a center stance.

There was no mistaking it, Magnetite definitely felt of chaos, and so did this stranger kicking the little girl. He presumed that was supposed to make the poorly dressed man his ally, but that wouldn't stop him from beating the crap out of Remarque.

Remarque had only become aware of the Chaos signal a few seconds before the man appeared; in the back of his head he assumed he must have just powered up and then decided to jump out and play ‘hero’ to this little girl, but seriously.

He was certain that had to be a Negaverse agent, and he knew that they were not supposed to be helping out bratty, obnoxious little chibi scouts.

Sure. If Lenka hadn’t attacked him, Remarque might have felt a pang of remorse for his actions, but given the relationship between the two and how inclined she was to attack him for no damned reason (okay, maybe she had some reason). He tore his gaze away from the child to shoot a glare at the approaching man. “Excuse me?” he demanded, clearly on edge. “Why don’t you go back to your dark little shadows and play with your dinky little sword somewhere else, I’m busy here.” His voice was low and quite unfriendly. That someone else had suddenly become aware of the fact that the chibi had actually managed to land a blow only succeeded in pissing him off further.

Seriously, if this guy wanted to take the ******** chibi, sure, he was more than welcome to. Remarque was more than ready to carry out his threat to set her six feet under, though would have much rather preferred if this guy could just get the girl out of his sight before he committed homicide on some tart a fraction of his age. He might not have cared now, but after this adrenaline and anger passed, it was most likely a given that he would hold some lasting guilt over it.

It wasn’t her fault she was young and stupid.

At the sound of the new voice…and the feeling of another aura, Lenka began trembling even more violently, her sobs increasing in volume.

That was not Camelot. Not by a long shot. Now there were two bad guys here…she wasn’t going to get away…she knew it…this was the end…the end! Oh no! Good bye, world…Good bye Mommy…and Daddy…and Minny, her new friend that she hadn’t been able to show Star Wars too…

This just wasn’t fair…But…

Huh…the two bad guys didn’t seem to be on good terms with one another…maybe she could run away…if they started fighting or something…yeah…she would just have to keep them busy with them hating one another! Then she could get home and get back to her mom!

Magnetite positioned his bokken diagonally across his torso, a maneuver a practitioner would recognize as a defensive stance. He walked toward Remarque slowly.

"I'm going to presume your ears are broken and say this one more time, very slowly. Get. Away. From. The. Girl. You let her leave, I'll let you live. But I swear to you anything you vist upon her innocent frame you will receive tenfold from Sear."

As he said Sear, he jerked his head to his bokken. Just run away kid, he thought to himself, Just get out of here you stupid brat. He really didn't want his first fight within the negaverse faction to be against one of their allies but he honestly didn't see any other options. And he was NOT about to back down. Not now. The cards were down; this is where men were made.
PostPosted: Tue Nov 15, 2011 12:52 am

The maneuver was not one Remarque recognized; he had no experience with swords or sword practice. All he knew was that some moron had decided to further ruin his evening by scolding him for reacting to the child’s attack.

His lip curled into a sneer as he looked the male up and down only once. “You let me live? Let’s get something straight. You don’t ‘let’ me do anything. I’ll do whatever the hell I want without your permission, so you’d be best to stop trying to give me orders.”

Remarque, perhaps foolishly, looked away from the Negaverser back to the girl on the ground. Her tears were deserved; she’d started this fight, and he wasn’t going to show weakness by backing down. Did he want to keep beating up a little kid? Not really. Did he want her—or this new guy—to think they could boss him around?

…Yeah, definitely not.

“If you're so inclined to pick a fight with me and think you can get away with it, you'd best have a good reason. What’s your affiliation with this girl anyway?” he gestured at her as he turned to face the blonde with the bokken. Lenka wasn’t much of a threat; if she attacked him again, it had already been proven that she took a blow far worse than she could deliver one. He’d much rather make sure that the newcomer wasn’t going to whack the back of his head while he was distracted since the Negaverser at least seemed to present a bit more of a challenge.

Lekna forced herself to stop crying…at least to stop crying so loudly…he was busy! Remarque looked busy talking to the guy with the stupid wooden sword…

The Chibi Senshi stood up, still holding her side, shaking her head slightly. “You…you two are getting off easy tonight…”

Why not finish the fight with some big words…she would need them to cover how horrible she had been in the fight. “I’ll let you off…but next time…beware! I’ll get you both! You’re both bad guys!”

She bolted then, running off into the woods in the park, hoping she could get away and not be followed by the two scary guys. She really hoped that there wouldn’t be a next time for her…she never wanted to see either of them again. Ever.

A low growl erupted from Remarque's throat and once more he found himself torn between focusing his attention on the man or the girl. Lenka was getting away, and he determined that it was worse to let her get away thinking she had a victory--if that stupid little girl thought she could count this as a victory--if she thought that she was letting them off the hook--Augh.

Another surge of adrenaline and anger flushed through him and he turned after the chibi, intent to scare her off for good. "You little ******** brat!" he seethed; his face was still stinging from where the watermelon had collided with his face. "You get back here so we can finish this!"

He wasn't going to have another run in like this--another stupid encounter which ended in him covered in watermelon and her sobbing as she disappeared into the night.

When Remarque turned his back, Magnetite saw his opportunity.

He pulled the bokken up, crossing it in front of him and preparing for a stab. His eyes took only a moment to find the old, familiar weak point.

Right next to the spin at the base of the back, a few inches up and an inch over. The muscles here were stretched taught, and the nerves were close to the surface. A hard jab there would DEFINATELY get this man’s attention, especially considering how small the tip of the bokken was.

He lunged forward, taking the shot.

"Do NOT turn your back on me, punk!"

This man would definitely think twice about ignoring him again.
