It was that time of day again. Mau was ushered out of Nyx's room so her bandages could be changed. It could be a while if Nyx was feeling feisty again. He started wandering the halls towards the, for lack of better word, dorms. The dye in his hair had mostly washed out, though there was still a navy-blue tint to it all. Maybe he should wash it again. Try and remove all the physical reminders of that damned mission. Well, all that could be removed. The wounds on his arm were likely to scar where the nails had hit: a permanent, painful reminder.

He was near the agent quarters, his own room still a few halls away. Why had he taken this rout? There were faster ways to his room. Maybe he just needed to wander. Where he found himself wandering, he hadn't been in some time. A secluded hall where rarely people were seen. There wasn't much down here. Not yet. He was fairly sure not all the rooms here were in use. The last time he had found himself here, he had met with Aila. It hadn't been long since the ball, and she had been crying. He stood still for several minutes, staring at the empty corner. He could clearly remember their conversation. Was that... really the last time they had spoken so freely? Without thinking, Mau turned and punched the wall beside him. "Aila."

Mau wasn't the only one roaming. Revenant couldn't stand to be kept in her pokeball for very long. She and her other teammates were always debriefed after missions. When the meeting didn't happen, the ghost could only assume that her human had been wounded some time after she'd been recalled into her pokeball. She'd sneaked out of her pokeball and had a look around. She hadn't believed what she had seen. She still didn't.

Revenant stared ahead absently as she drifted. The halls in this direction were comfortably empty - or they usually were, at least. She hadn't expected to run into anyone there, but there someone was. And some she knew no less, which was surprising in itself since the ghost-type rarely interacted with humans other than her own.

Now she couldn't even interact with her own human.

The Mismagius's head lowered at the thought, and with a strange despondency she continued down the hall towards That Man with the Vaporeon. She paused partway through her path, wincing at the sudden blow to the wall and wincing again at the familiar name he uttered. She appeared at his side, reaching up to the wall beside his fist and tracing the path of a sad face with one of her ghostly tendrils.

When the ghost's insubstantial appendage joined his against the wall, Mau stared at it before looking up to the pokemon itself. His fist relaxed and slid from the wall. He knew this ghost. "Revenant." He said the name, vaguely unsure. It wasn't that he was unsure of the ghost's name. No. It was more of a wondering why she was here, and why she-

No, he knew why she drew the face on the wall. He reached a hand up to the pokemon. "I bet you miss her too." She probably missed Aila more then most of them. He wondered for a moment what was going to happen to the poor ghost. To all of Aila's pokemon. The girl had been quite good with her team. Though he wasn't sure if Aila was the type to call her team 'friends,' he had the sinking feeling that with the trainer gone, the pokemon would be separated.

"Miiiis..." She nodded her head once, lowering her gaze to the floor in a nearly tangible sadness. She'd always told herself that the human girl was an annoyance and that she'd be happier if she didn't have to listen to all those orders. Do this, do that, not that way, attack that thing, do it better-- Well done. That was excellent. Thank you. The Mismagius visibly deflated, lifting her vague semblance of a hand to Mau's and making a fine point of not crying. She wasn't sad. What was there to be sad about? Her human was just sleeping, or... or... She had to be sleeping. The little whelp was too willful to be anything but sleeping.

There was something unsettling about the ghost trying so hard not to cry. The hand he'd raised moved to attempt to touch the ghost. He wanted to assure the pokemon that it would be ok, like he had for Aila when they sat here that night and spoke and cried. But he wasn't sure that things would be ok. Not this time. He remembered telling Aila she was destined for greater things. And where had that gotten her?

"I'm sorry, Revenant." he spoke softly to the ghost before putting his back against the wall and sliding to the floor. "I miss her too."

The Mismagius did not recoil from the touch, though she briefly shuddered. The touch was a reminder of the present, and the present was a thing without her trainer. Revenant didn't want that. But when was the last time she ever got what she wanted? She always did what that selfish little upstart of a human wanted, right up to the end. And what had that done for either of them?

The ghost sank to the ground at Mau's side with an expression that trembled between anger and sorrow. Eventually, a worry settled on her features. "Misma...?" What would happen to her if her trainer was gone? She didn't want another trainer. It'd taken long enough to get used to the one she had.
