Amarus had learned of a new game, and it was called Skariokart. Or something. She sat extremely close to a fire she had started herself outside, waving her hand in and out of the flames, idly, playing with them. Her hand, for this purpose, was at its least tangible, but the rest of her was rather solid. She sat with her legs folded under her, thinking of the bright images and the fast competition.
Strange, that skill could be based so thoroughly on hand-eye coordination and virtual movement, and that physical abilities might not count for much in such environments. Amarus, herself, was constantly striving for strength and success. It was crucial that she succeed in everything, that she found the best and was subsequently able to defeat them. Amarus had not yet reached a level of skariokart expertise where this was remotely possible. That thought troubled her.
Perhaps she could practice more? Perhaps she merely needed to study the techniques. She certainly didn't mean to let herself lag behind. Now that she had discovered this activity, and those that surrounded it, she would need to improve her own skills until they were at the very least passably impressive. A contradiction in and of itself, but Amarus' standards were strangely organized.
She was lost in thought, when she thought she caught something moving out of the corner of her eye. As she turned her head to look, forgetting her hand inside the fire, her bells jingled conspicuously. The flickering aura across her skin made her seem almost like a pink-purple extension of the fire itself.

So close. He was almost there! After spending so much time on it, he was almost at the last boss and the end of his current gaming obsession. Not to say that once he did beat it he was through, oh no. This was just the beginning for him. It wasn't often Jareth found himself willing to wander outside, let alone the halls of his own dorm, but his excitement had unconsiously made him mobile. Pacing his dorm room had gotten uncomfortable for him, so he had left his haven for a small little pacing in the halls. Typically no one noticed him, though if they noticed anything, it'd be his excited mutterings to himself.
The game had been more challenging than he had thought. Nibbling on his bottom lip, his fingers pressed on the buttons with a devout concentration. He was even ignoring his haunteds who were buzzing around him being annoying as usual. He was focused, determined. It would happen today. The game would be beat! Just... had to get passed this sub-boss and the last boss was... a sharp cry whistled passed his teeth as his screen flickered, became distorted and them turned a horrible.. horrible black.
...What!? Wait, that... that can't be right?! Ah Jack, please don't mess me up right now, Linkus!! "Y-You.. o-okk, Linkus?"
The gameboy who often plauged his life was snickering a bit, filling the boil with something akin to nervousness. "Totally fine. Must have lost signal or something. Not that it really matters." Though Jareth was too busy shaking and such, he was dreading the smugness by which the object spoke. "Just gimme a sec and it'll come back on." The fact he was being even more polite was makign it worse. Linkus was enver anything but rude, mean and degrading. Not that Jareth would be able to be without him, but the handheld loved to purposely mess up on him and then call him a baby when he cried. It wasn't often Jareth played games on him, outside of his FEAR ability, because Linkus was evil.
"Come on.. j-j-just lemme beat 'im. Last b-boss an-and..." There hadn't beena savepoint once he had entered! After some more pause the screen flickered, fizzed and popped back on... but it wasn't his game that appeared. "LINKUS!!!" Regardless of the fact he loved Skariokart, he didn't want to play it now! UGH! The last two hours are gone! Ignoring Linkus' mocking laughter, he finally looked up to take notice of where he was... and noticed a ghoul not too far away. It was probably a good thing the boil was already pale as his mouth slacked open.
Ah... sweet, merciful Jack... be kind and tell me she hadn't seen that. Please please please... ah jack, just slay me now. -_-

Amarus, being unattached to any physical object, would not be capable of understanding exactly what Jareth was experiencing when Linkus stopped working in the middle of a boss battle. She did not even know what a boss battle was, given her only game experience revolved around skariokart. She did, however, hear him yelling at it his... well, whatever it was that he was holding. He was yelling at an object which he was holding, and her eyes had snapped over to him just as he looked up and noticed her.
She separated herself from the fire, stood, brushed herself off and returned to her normal tangibility, which meant that from her thighs upwards she was nearly 100% tangible, while her feet and the tip of her bound hair faded into transparency. He surely wasn't yelling at her, but what was the problem?...
"Something wrong?" she asked him, as she walked within earshot, her feet moving normally despite the fact she walked a couple inches above the ground. "What... is that thing?" she asked, distracted by what she saw of skariokart flickering on the screen. Portable skariokart?
