The cafe had tables out front, set there for people that didn't want to be inside, or wanted to smoke. It was a cute little place with adorable food--and more importantly, seriously good coffee. The town itself was a reaper town, built for them in a gothic style design, catering to their special needs with smithies and vets and clothing shops that were strictly for humanoid forms. They had NO TAIL HOLES to be found.

It was a bit surprising, though, to see two tough looking grim reapers stroll to one of the delicate looking tables and drop down comfortably, blocking the view of the street.

"You got him convinced," the larger male said, leaning back and dwarfing the metal chair he sat in, "that we're completely out of seeds for gas."

"Do you know what he did to me? That little punk sent home DUST BUNNIES to live under my bed. One of the little bastards almost bit off a foot one morning," the younger one said. He looked shockingly familiar, from the way his body was built to the way he sat in his chair. His short blonde hair was the same shade as someone else's, and when he turned slightly, his profile could be seen.

He looked almost exactly like...

They looked at her, then, and it was astonishing how much the younger one looked like Roch, even as he grinned. "Jack DAMN that boil knows a lot of ghouls," he commented to the big man who could only be his father or uncle. "Look at this, we meet him with a cute little patchwork, then he's got a picture of the baku ghoul on his phone, and now this little lady recognizes him--"

"We're his family," the larger male said. "I'm his granddad, Las Vegas Scythe, this is his dad."

"Austin Texas Scythe," Austin said, holding out a hand to shake. "Roch is... busy at the moment."

Right then a familiar looking teen came out of the alley, carrying a crate and muttering darkly to himself. He didn't seem to notice them as he set the crate on the corner walkway and stepped onto it.

"Lizzy?" Roch asked blankly, looking over at where she was standing with those two-- "Don't DO or SAY anything, you old geezers," he said warningly to the two sitting there. "What are you doing here?" he asked, holding out a hand and summoning his guitar.

"Austin," Austin supplied to her earlier question. "Oye, kid, play something new! You had to have learned SOMETHING from school, right?"

Vegas reached out, pushing another chair away from the table. "Join us, Darklin," he said. "Enjoy the show. And you can call me Vegas."

"She's got a boilfriend, you creepers! And she's old enough to be your daughter and granddaughter! So watch yourselves," Roch called over to them, narrowing his eyes in a warning glare before he started playing his guitar.

"Impertinent pup," Vegas said, waving for the waitress to get him a coffee. "So what's your relationship with our kid?" he asked Lizzy.

"Huh... someone's picked up a new bad habit," Austin said, his focus on Roch's playing. "Bones is gonna ream him over that one." Which didn't make much sense, since Roch's playing sounded excellent to most people listening. But he seemed quite serious about it. Then he turned to Lizzy. "We got a day here, the concert isn't until tomorrow. You any good at getting kids to go shopping?"

"He's bought..." Austin said, lifting a long, beautiful finger with each of his list, "candy, maracas, a catrina plush toy, more candy, a burrito platter, a sombrero--but no clothes. The kid's been wearing clothes that ALL look alike for three days, but he doesn't even LOOK at the clothes we go by."

"Don't forget the guitar toy keychain," Vegas drawled. "He spent half the ride here pushing the buttons."

"Why do you think I made him ride with you? That thing's annoying as hell. The first song isn't even done on a guitar!"

"Don't make fun of the keychain!" Roch called back to them before launching into another song. He was gaining a small crowd by this time. Although that might have been because of his hair.

"See, I would argue that on principal," Vegas drawled, looking at the boil that was starting to get a decent payoff just from playing his guitar. "He should be wearin' things that haven't been handed around between who knows what? But--"

"He'll go," Austin said, digging a rather comfortable sized bag out of his coat pocket and tossing it to her. "Make sure he only buys ONE stupid t-shirt, would you? I'd rather see him in vests than taco shirts."

Roch jerked, turning and glowering at them. "Did you just give her money?" he demanded. "And I was workin to pay for GAS??"

"Busted,"Vegas said with amusement.

"So very," Austin agreed.

Roch grabbed the hat off the ground, pouring the seeds out into his hand and shoving them into his pocket before turning to glower at his dad and granddad. "We'll talk later," he muttered.

Apparently Lizzy wanted to go shopping with him. Okay... well, he would have argued, but he needed to talk to her anyway, he thought, glancing at the pink haired demoness thoughtfully. "Where to?" he asked her.

"Mot, huh?" Roch said quietly. That seemed a bit off, especially considering how he usually acted. "I was wondering why a demon would be in a reaper town. See, I don't know much about places like this, but it seems pretty obvious that they don't come here to hang out on a regular basis."

He headed inside casually, heading for a rack. "So you came all the way to a reaper town to go shopping with Mot? We ain't that close to school, right? Kind of a bit of a trip."
