As Aea came into the area to fight, she felt a surge of emotions, but mostly, the determination and fire to fight. Her eyes were narrowed, her head high though her tail flicked and writhed behind her like a serpent. She looked up to her master, Lous, as she liked being called, who had the same look in her eyes. This was it, this was her, no, their time.

As she waited for her opponent, she looked to the rust-colored female and smiled, grinned -almost- but she held back. She wanted to stay focused, and she stretched her legs, swiveled her head around and her ears laid back then. She heard Lous cheering for her, time to put her training to work.

The ebb and flow of the compound was starting to escalate as the match was soon to be underway. The splattered and splotched fighter stretched her paws forward and shook herself off--shaking away the restlessness and the anticipation that stirred inside of her--if only to gear up for the first heat of the season. Sliding back up to all fours, Rust looked upwards and tipped her head back ever so slightly to give a lopsided grin up towards her handler.

Talonth was anxious, somewhat nervous, as he looked down towards the fighter. His fighter. A sheepish smile etched itself upon his lips as he exhaled deeply.

"Try not to do anything reckless...please?"

Somehow, his words seemed to become muddled by the growing anticipation and excitement of the stands. Rust's attention snapped forwards toward her opponent. She smiled and gave a coy wink.

The starting bell echoed throughout the compound and, with it, the female fighter propelled herself forward.

Aea has rushed forward on the bell, and in doing so, got close to her opponent. If they had not been in the ring Aea would stop to look at the other's pelt fully, the different colors, the patterns, it was so new, different, so unlike her. She smiled. She forced her body forward, intending her shoulder to hit the others.

She felt a connection, and she felt a sense of pride in her, but she felt a tawng in her as well, the russet girl had hard bones. She skid away and immediately reared back, running in again, hoping to run her side into the female's shoulder again, if she could catch the hard bone girl.

To say the least, Rust hadn't thought things out through and the rash reaction had been a mistake. The collision itself against her opponent sent her tumbling offside to the left, twisting and turning as she skidded toward the walls of the ring. She somersaulted onto her stomach with an audible 'umph'. Adrenaline began coursing through her veins--it hastened her to gather her bearings and to right herself back onto her feet. Dust and debris clung to her fur but that was of little importance now.

Amber eyes watched as her opponent seemed to lunge forward. Time was of the essence, she chastised herself. The longer she stood there, the more precious seconds she was burning. She needed an action, not a reaction. She had to use her---

Oh!

Rust suddenly sprang forward and headlined into her opponent, head first. She was hoping to knock some sense into herself and to get the upper hand in the match.

As soon as she got close, she didn't feel as if she was strong enough then. Aea hesitated, almost intrigued too much by the color of her opponent rather than the movements of her body. As she came close and felt herself weak, miss almost completely, she mentally berated herself. She heard Lous continue to cheer her on regardless of her fault, the weakness, and she shook her head, paws and toes feeling the ground beneath her as she turned to face the rust-colored, hard-boned female before her.

As the female came at her, Aea knew she had a strong spirit like herself, and for that, she was glad.

But she had to try something different from last time, so she withdrew her attempts at being showy, and focused on the work of her paws, tried to be agile, to get close, make a quick attack and get out. If she lingered, and failed, it would give the female ample time to strike. If she succeeded, well, she'd do it again the next time if it worked. But she had to try.

Talonth seemed to wince, his teeth gritting slightly, although, aside from his discomfort, cheered. "C'mon, Rust! As long as you don't get injured I'll consider it a victory," he laughed. Since acquiring the rather rambunctious renegade, it seemed that her fiery spirit often ended up with some unthinkable, self sustained injury. She was reckless, no doubt, and yet there was something about her which had captivated him. Something that reminded him of Cellen. He smiled.

Her timing was horrible. Rust's ears pinned back while her nostrils flared. She was more upset with herself rather than anyone else. There was a inferno that was swelling inside of her--and yet she couldn't figure out how to harness it.

It was frustrating.

In the heat of the match, Rust ran toward the wall of the ring kicked out; her body weight hit against the walls while her back legs conjured tension which suddenly erupted as she launched herself toward the other.

Reckless, thoughtless. That was Rust.

it was a little better, but, still not good enough, not good enough in Aea's mind. She didn't think it would be the best in Lous' either. She had to do something, had to make a difference, why was training, so hard, so much fun, so..profitable, yet it wasn't working here? Was she nervous, letting it get to her head, her focus? No! She had to stay in the here in now, not focus on the past, not focus on colors, what made her eyes wonder, she had to stay here, in the ring, the pit, and do well. She had to, at least, she had to try.

The female came at her again, and Aea braced herself, she felt another twang in her body that nearly went dan her spine as they connected. She saw stars and fell over but tried to quickly recover. Shaking herself, after feeling somewhat dazed, Aea let a small snarl slip from her lips as she charged forward hoping to knock the female's paws out from under her.

What was she doing? Well, damn, Rust didn't even know. Somehow she was pulling all of the stops at this point. And yet there was something about the fight that made her veins pulsate with a slew of emotions; she felt as if she was unstoppable. Unknowingly she was a hazard than anything else.

Rust growled as a grin played across her maw. As the other charged, Rust bounded forward with a slide hoping to catch the other by her underside and throw her off her feet. Literally.

It still hurt, the hard hit from the rusty colored, hard boned female. She was good, that Reisx knew. She snarled, trying to come off her last attack, but still, it hadn't been as strong as her first. Was she tiring too easily? She herself thought her stamina was pretty good, but alas, she guessed not. But, the fire in her was increasing, and as it did, so did her want for power behind her moves, her strength, and they connected once again.

When the female came at her again, Aea tried to move quickly, tried to think the move through so that she could make an effort to either attack at the same time, or get out of the way. They connected none the less, almost equal force, and Aea grinned. She enjoyed this.

She turned once more and tried to knock the rust female over, but she was tired, and she couldn't help it. She merely tried to push all of her energy into her movements.

Who knew that having to be quick on your feet could zap ones energy so quickly? Rust was clawing onto what energy she had left but, as with most things in life, it seemed that she dove into the ring head first without having forged a strategy. Although the spattered-splotched female was growing fond of the tactics that could be found in the aspect of 'surprise'. Whether or not it was a reliable one had yet to be determined.

The female could feel the force of her opponent press into her, pressuring her to fall. It was tempting but falling just wasn't her style-- at least for now.

Rust dove downward. She angled herself towards her opponent back legs to throw her off kilter. Just one last shot.

Aea felt her own legs give out, touche, she thought in her head as she tumbled. Her side hit the ground hard and she coughed. She heard Lous say something but she couldn't make it out. Opening her eyes Aea pushed herself, a twitch of pain in her side and she gave a snarl, not at her opponent, but the pain.

Standing, she looked to the rust colored female, and smirked, "Got a hard hit in you, huh?" she said with a soft laugh. "Name's Aea, it's been fun my rust colored fighting companion, but," she winced, "gotta tend to these, you got hard bones. I like it."

She hoped someday she'd get to fight her again, but, only after healing, and perhaps trying to harden her own bones.

Heavy breaths exhaled from out of her maw as she stood there--her legs quaked with the surplus of adrenaline which surged through her veins. Although the brawl hadn't unfolded into a victory, Rust felt accomplished with the mere fact that she hadn't sustained any injuries which would keep her out of the ring. Certainly this was something that also would lighten Talonth's own burden. Having to present his girlfriend with an injured Mokai, let alone that she wasn't even aware of the new addition to the household, would have been a hell of an endeavor.

Damn, but that would have been priceless to see Keegan's reaction though.

As her opponent approached, Rust chuckled and gave a shrug of her shoulders."You can say that although its more like fighting without any coordination but with style." Style, perhaps, but with this being the first of many fights it wasn't a bad turn out. It was acceptable, at the very least.

"Aea," the female repeated softly, attempting to roll the name off of her tongue. "I hope I catch you again both in and out of the ring. And...sorry, about the battle damage-- wasn't personal. I just---uh, don't know my own strength?"

Cliche. So cliche. Her ears flattened slightly against her skull.

A sharp whistle sounded from amongst the chatter that ensued within the compound. Rust's ears erected upwards, her attention snapped towards her handler. But, suddenly, it flung back towards Aea.

"I gotta roll out but look for me around Huntingdon. Name's Rust!"

Quick to heed her handler, Rust barreled out of the ring and disappeared.
