Vanya carefully tread on a mix of dirt and grass. She couldn't tell you where she was if you asked, but she was okay with that. She had yet to formally settle anywhere but took to wandering a myriad of locations near the noodle shop to gain her bearings of the area. There was nearly no end to how many trees littered the surroundings. The feeling of soft dirt and cool grass under her paws was so different from the concrete and stone she was accustomed to. Vanya soon decided that that wasn't a negative thing; it was actually quite positive. It felt wonderful and unique, and she thought of it like she would never tire of the feeling. Her eyes darted around the expanse she found herself looking at. The land was blank and empty, the sky dotted with clouds and the sun smiling down on her. She saw something in the distance and began her leisurely pace toward it.

Since arriving, Vanya watched many foxes like herself but remained on the outside looking in, so to speak. So far, she hadn't had to step in and be the Voice. As far as anyone she would meet would know, her name was Vanya. She traveled here due to unfortunate circumstances at home. That was what they called it, wasn't it? Home. She had never learned this word or even heard it where she used to reside. She utilized context clues to determine its meaning, but she still lacked this 'home' they spoke of. Perhaps that thing on the horizon could function as such.

Vanya approached the edifice slowly, noting that it was much bigger than it had seemed form afar, though nothing compared to the sizes of building she was used to. She took in the appearance, seeing how run-down and bleary it seemed to be. The vixen chanced a pull at the door and was surprised to feel it open. She wished to avoid coming across as a spirit if she could; anyone she may encounter needn't know what she truly was. Although, the dull glow around her entire being didn't seem like it would help her case, either...

She shrugged off the glow, choosing to use it as a bit of light in the slightly shady parts of the rather oddly lit structure. She found beds of sorts in each of the rooms she passed, the floor sometimes stained and other times all the apparatus looking quite dusty. She continued on, nearing the steps to the next floor. She paused, a feeling of dread and fear seeping into her. She inched closer and the sense intensified. Vanya kept her composure as she ascended the steps, following the increasingly tense air to find the victim of this emotion. It was all compulsory. She withheld the sigh she wished to emit; she was the Voice. And she always would be.

The sound of Nyx leaving had been the only thing to rose her from her sleep, white outlined eyes blearily blinking when her roommate said something about groceries, dark tail flicking as to brush her off before attempting sleep again. When she had heard footsteps in the hallway she had assumed it was Nyx, head raising in her dark corner. The windows were spaced far apart, light not shining in the dark corner. Apparently it was either morning or evening, one of the two. Pandora hated stirring before night, but in the hospital it was different. Darkness seemed to crowd the hospital, she had a roommate that understood why she seemed to be completely dark, hosting blood that dripped from her fangs and eyes that were the only visible part of her at night.

So, when she heard footsteps reaching the floor she had decided to settle down in she had assumed it was a spirit. You heard them from time to time. Then she realized how unlikely that was. Spirits preferred the floors above the third floor or the morque, and if they did reside in the second floor they were lurking in the deeper parts.

So, it had to be Nyx, right? Standing up she allowed her limbs to crack slowly. Her dark paws graced the hard ground as she approached the sound, and then she stopped. It was a spirit, yes, but not one she recognized. This one was to clean, to whole. This girl was not one of the hospitals own.

Taking a step back, Pandora eyed the vixen. Her tail flicked side to side violently, wings curling into her sides. Was this a spirit? Or was it just a noodle that was transparent? Either way she didn't like she was in her home and.... Maybe if she was silent the other wouldn't speak to her?

Vanya felt the level of the emotion spike suddenly, alerting the ghost that the affected had neared. It was curious, since she had assumed no one would be around, but perhaps she had to stop judging situations in the way she used to. This setting was completely different and maybe foxes inhabited places like these. She made her way up the rest of the steps and let her clockwork guide her to the source.

She stopped, not able to move further, something telling her that she was exactly where the stuffy air came from. That was true, as she felt it in the full force. And if it weren't for a pair of red eyes dimly glowing at her, she would have thought it to be a fluke. Vanya boldly reached out an arm, stretching it through where the fox's neck would be if she were able to see it, and watched as her arm slipped right through it like she was nonexistent. If it weren't for the glow still emanating from herself, she would have believed it, too. And had she not done that and found a piece of her limb colored with a grayish black shade, she would have thought her hunch was wrong. But it was not.

She removed her arm and made eye contact with the red eyes. "I apologize," she spoke solemnly, nodding once. It was brash of her to do that without permission, but shockingly, the emotions' amount did not rise. That was peculiar; if they were already frightened, her doing that should have raised their fear immediately. Sudden, unknown actions always did that before. She bowed her head, wondering why it had gone wrong now.

"You have to be calm now." Her voice was melodic and soft, full of comfort and dependability. Like a mother's coddle, her voice was meant to enshroud the subject like a safe haven.

She didn't move when the paw reached out, though red eyes widened slightly when the paw didn't recoil away in fright. Hm. Peculiar, though this was a spirit. Then again.... spirits had always been frightened of her despite her being living and them dead. Still, this girl didn't jerk away, it left her staring at the vixen with wide eyes, her dark form shifting to one side.

The apology also threw her off. Her? Sorry? For what? For jabbing her paw through her? Sure she had felt a shiver of cold when it happened but if anything shouldn't she be the sorry one? Didn't the girl suffer from touching her? Her tail flicked, head turning to one side. This was a dream, wasn't it?

....Now this girl was freaking her out. She must be broken, or a figment of her lonely imagination. She must be calm? Why would she say that? Why was the girl still there? Finally risking speech the vixen shook her head, eyes closing and then re-opening when her head stilled.

"I am calm. Despite seeing a hallucination I believe I am fairing well."

Vanya felt the fox' confusion roll over her in waves among the tense air, perplexing the ghost for a moment. She shook it off and used her dim glow to try and outline this animal's body, but it was no use; they were pitch black. She perked her ears to stay alert to the noises she could pick up on so that she didn't loose the dark fox in the lack of light.

Vanya saw the red eyes flash away, causing the apparition to wonder where she had gone, until the eyes were back. She realized the fox had close her eyes. Then the dark figure spoke.

Calm? Vanya would argue otherwise; she was far from calm, if the way the air crackled with fear indicated anything.

"I am afraid there is no hallucination here. If that is the concern, I can assure you that such a thing is not present. You are safe. Do not be afraid."

None of Vanya's training or experience could teach of someone like this fox. The spirit already felt like she was at large disadvantage.

Backing away when the glow came closer she pressed her back into the wall, ears back across her skull. Though the glow didn't seem to harm her and instead just proved that she was a dark shadow, returning to its owner. When the ghost spoke Pandora blinked back, nails digging into the cement.

"I am calm." She repeated once more, eyes narrowing at the vixen curiously. Yes, Pandora was calm, though she doubted this would last soon. This girl wasn't running. Well, yet. Some took a few seconds. Curious still, the strange demonic spread her wings, swatting away spiderwebs from her corner before coming slightly closer.

"If you are real then why are you here?" She asked quietly, perhaps hopefully. "Can you not feel it?"

Vanya's ear twitched at the sound of nails scraping the floor under them. She focused her gaze towards the sound, peering into the shadows to find those glowing eyes again. Her eyes narrowed ever so slightly at the fox stating that she was at peace, not fully comprehending nor believing this claim. Every strand of emotion that hit the Voice suggested otherwise. Vanya alone was nearly thrumming with intense feelings, though she could not be shaken.

In a brief moment, Vanya's eyes flitted to anywhere but the shadows that held the dark vixen at her presence being questioned. Her past flooded over her again, the fleeting reaction nearly imperceptible to most. The ghost's face was schooled to indifference in an instant. Acting as if that question had never existed, Vanya titled her head at the next inquiry. Feel it? Of course she could feel the strong waves of fear that were mixed with other emotional inclinations, as well.

Yes. She felt the fox's emotions. How was she expected to explain that fully to someone? They would never grasp it. She could never tell this mysterious fox. She did not know this shady character, nor did she have a desire to reveal her curse. Her past was a scar that never faded. Her anger was uncontrollable and not at all hers to have. She was forced to be this way. She was damaged goods. All she could be was the Voice. Each day it seemed to consume her a bit more, but that was her fate. She would not fight it.

"I do not understand your question. I do know of your frantic emotions, if that is what you mean." Vanya sighed silently. Perhaps that was all she could let on. There was no dancing around the matter, but she was still walking on thin ice.

"I am not frantic." Pandora replied, eyes narrowing gently, ever so gently. Her eyes lowered, head lowering to her paws.

"Perhaps you are also confused by my aura." She whispered, as if thinking to herself. Shaking her head, red eyes peered at the vixen, slowly pressing away once more.

"You aren't like the other ghosts. If you can feel the aura, something is not right." She spoke, her voice dropping, cold. Why did she hope? This vixen was like the others, and as had the others she'd probably run from her.
