This is a new small book i'm actually writing called "whatever happened to" which deals a lot with the old fashioned roleplaying games compared to the new roleplaying games out there and how cheap they can be. It's a comical story and I hope you enjoy.
Whatever Happened To
Episode 1: The start of all RPGS
Ah most likely all stories start with a little bit of once upon a time or with a little bit of in a far far away land. This story doesn't and starts off with a small child in a small village in a magical world where everything seems sort of wrong. As you all know this child is not just any child, he's THE child. Let's name this child, Ryu, since it's a common name to have with many followers of the brave heroes section of all the stories. Ryu was born with one mother and one father, but the father had died in this epic war a long time ago.
One normal day Ryu woke up to find out that his mother wasn't home and something was obviously wrong. He went outside to find out that there wasn't any air. He didn't feel a breeze or anything for that matter and started talking to the villagers as quickly as possible.
Ryu: Hey what's going on?
Villager: I don't know what's going on, but rumors are that the crystal of air has been broken.
Ryu: What! What do you mean broken? Who broke it?
Villager: I don't know what's going on, but rumors are that the crystal of air has been broken.
Ryu: Um, why are you repeating the same thing??
Villager: I don't know what's going on, but rumors are that the crystal of air has been broken.
As you all know in a normal roleplaying game, the villagers don't say much. They can only say one sentence or maybe two per action. This confused Ryu for he knew that an everyday life was always different. He began trotting towards the village and noticed the elder, so he decided to ask him what was going on.
Elder: Oh Ryu! Ryu! thank you for coming here, we need your help. The air crystal has been broken and we don't know what to do.
Ryu: B-But i'm only 10.
Elder: Who the F@#! cares your old enough your a man! Do what you need to do!
Ryu: B-But how?
Elder: Find a wooden sword somewhere and begin your journey across the Palesia grass and you might find a cave somewhere. There you will find a magical genie who will help you out more on this quest. Now get out of here!
Ryu didn't know why the elder chose HIM out of all the people that were there to begin this quest. He didn't know how to attack and he was only level 1. He didn't even know why the guards who were there weren't chosen to go with him. All he knew is that as he stepped outside the village he had one goal in mind. To find the wooden sword in the cave and the genie. This will help him through his quest for whatever had just happened that day.

Episode 2: Attention all villagers!
Of course Ryu didn't want to leave just yet so what he had decided was to head over to his house and say goodbye to his mother. He opened the door towards his house and noticed that everything was cool and calm. He saw his mother working on some bakery and as he walked up to her to talk to her she somehow already knew.
Ryu: Mother, I must depart for this new quest on which the elder has given me.
Mother: No! I know about this quest, it has to do with the crystal and you are going! I know all about it.
Ryu: But-how could you know about it if you didn't go outside the whole day today?
Mother: Villagers are tattletellers and word gets around pretty fast.
Ryu: Oh...I see.
Mother: Take this I made for you.
As his mother hands him a new pouch and some food he realizes that this will be the first time he would have to leave his home. Right before he leaves though his mother gives him good news.
Mother: Oh before you leave hun remember that you can walk inside any house at any time and get some items from them.
Ryu: But mother wouldn't that be stealing.
Mother: Not in this world it isn't.
So Ryu did exactly what his mother suggested. He visited each and every house and opened the door. Inside the house there was always at least one item in a drawer or a chest. He took it and found out he had collected at least 5 potions for him to heal himself along his journey. He had set his journey after leaving the village to find this new cave. While walking along the path he found out that every 20 steps he took a monster appeared randomly in front of his face. This seemed aggravating especially if he only had his fists as weapons.
Ryu: Stupid monster!
An odd monster appeared and he seemed small. Ryu charged at the monster inflicting the monster 5 damage. As Ryu back away he noticed the number 5 appear on top of the monsters head and wondered what it was. So he stood there for awhile while the monster charged at him and as the monster charged he inflicted 5 damage to Ryu. Just then he noticed the same number on top of his head.
Ryu: I wonder what this is.
After defeating the monster he collected some items that the monster currenlty had equipped, yet he didn't use. This confused Ryu as he continued walking the path he needed to walk to get towards the cave.
He then noticed the cave from a distance and yelled with glee. There was only one problem, a giant snake was guarding the cave.
