Lizzy had been busy with a certain project, but that didn't stop her from attempting to visit her friends whenever she felt like she needed a break - more specifically, visit Mac whenever she felt like she needed a break from her sewing. Ever since the field trip, she found herself more needy and clingy than usual. So much so that she was actually rather impressed that Mac hadn't gotten frustrated with her yet.
As she reached the reaper dorms, she caught sight of a certain figure with wings... A very familiar figure with wings.
She stopped, wondering if she should dart the other way to avoid her. Then she realized that it was probably a bad idea since they could not possibly avoid each other forever. Thus, plucking up her courage, she continued down the path till she was within the ghoul's earshot before putting on a small, rather nervous smile, "Hey Hel!"

Ever since coming back from the trip…Hel just didn’t like staying in her room for too long, thus now a days she was usually on the move someway, some how. She was just coming down the stairs and exiting the reaper dorms when a voice caught her attention. A rather familiar voice. A voice she might have been avoiding ever since she returned from the trip (not that she’d admit that). Oh…well. The campus wasn’t that big…she was bound to run into Lizzy eventually right…since she would probably visit Mac and Mot and all…
The valkyrie looked a bit surprised to see the spider demoness, but was possibly struck out more on Hel’s face was this…brief look of defeat as she paused, and rested her hands on her hips. She was recalling the ‘talk’ she had with Mot…and her behavior back at the main hub…and well…it didn’t make this meeting something entirely pleasant to happen but…she didn’t hate Lizzy…so to keep avoiding her…it was silly…even if it was a reminder that…oh…it didn’t matter. “Lizzy.” The valkyrie greeted. Her tone sounded tired, but it held no edge to it. “It is good to see you out and about. How have you been fairing?”

She was actually glad that Hel seemed... Normal. A little tired, but who wasn't, nowadays? Especially those that recently returned from that horrible field trip and were still trying to come to terms with that eventful one day; she was pretty sure that dark rings were starting to form under her eyes from her lack of sleep.
"Mmm... Better than a week ago, for sure," She smiled, trying her best not to feel too awkward, "Thanks for asking! How about yourself?"
Small talk. Yes, small talk was good.

Hel’s sentiments exactly.
The reaper gave a nod of her head. “Ah, good. I am glad to hear that, then.” Yes, the spider demoness did look tired, and Hel couldn’t say she was surprised that there dark rings forming under Lizzy’s eyes. “I am doing alright.” Hel answered simply…though it was far from the truth. Now, came another moment of awkward silence. “…Ah…if you are on your way to see Mac or Mot….please do not let me hold you up…”

"Ah, that's good to hear..." She replied with a smile that was probably as awkward as how they felt, "The field trip had been a disaster... They just seemed to get worse and worse with every field trip." She sighed softly, although Hel's last comment made her straighten up quickly.
"Mac!" She exclaimed before blushing, twirling the end of her hair around a finger, "I-I mean... I came to visit Mac." Not Mot, nope! And she was totally not acting odd.

The field trips would just get worse and worse, huh? This was only her first one…and she still had a few years here at the Academy to go. Thanks Lizzy. Good topic you brought up there. The spider demoness’ reaction though to her statement…wow. So obvious. So obvious it wasn’t even funny. Hel gave Lizzy this look: Not impressed. Clearly. The reaper just stared at her for a long moment, and then cleared her throat before giving a roll of her shoulders. “… You’re like Mot, Lizzy. You can not fib to save your skin…but that’s not going to stop you from trying, huh?” Hel gave a very soft, amused snort. Lizzy, you were busted.

"I'm not fibbing!" She pouted before frowning; it was true though - she sucked at lying, due to lack of practice, "I just didn't want you to get the wrong idea. I'm really here to visit Mac..." And maybe drop off a note at Mot's, like she had promised, but that was all! She hadn't been to Mot's place one day since they returned from the field trip!

“…Uh huh…” Hel shifted her weight from one foot to the other as she stared at the demoness. “That’s why you exclaimed Mac’s name so loudly, yes?” A brow rose, and now a frown was pulling at her lips as well. “Get the wrong idea about what?”
She always thought Lizzy to be a ….special ghoul…but now she was just really taking the cake.

"Get the wrong idea that I was going to visit Mot when I wasn't," She replied with a soft sigh, her gaze dropping to the ground, "I didn't want you to...Be upset at me or Mot again."

Oh. So that’s what it was about. Well…at least it was coming out now. This was exactly why she had wanted to avoid Lizzy…but ah...no use crying over split milk or so they say. Once again, she recalled the ‘talk’ she had with Mot…how apparently Lizzy thought she hated her or something…
Hel sighed.
“You can visit Mot whenever you want, Lizzy.” Hel informed her, a bit lamely, her expression flat. “He’s your friend, after all, yes?” She’d just glaze over that upset at her and Mot part for now…possibly pretend like it never happened.

The reaper seemed a bit confused when she was being thanked, reaching up to rub the back of her neck, and looked vaguely uncertain when Lizzy suggested they sit down. Her dual toned gaze shifted over to the offending patch of grass beside them. It was a trap. Oh did Hel know that it was a trap. A trap she couldn’t escape from.
Oh Bloody Mary.
“Uh…what about Mac?” The valkyrie questioned, though she was already moving over to the patch of grass and flopping down on it, crossing her legs.

Lizzy joined He's side with a wary smile, although her cheeks soon reddened at the mention of Mac. She looked up at the sky, then down at the grass, before turning to look at the ghoul again, "He's... My good friend and my boilfriend. He's special to me in that way." She relaxed, her expression softening.
"Do you... Feel that way about Mot?" She couldn't resist asking, "Like him as more than a friend?"

Hel shook her head. “Uh…no, I meant, weren’t you on your way to go see him? I would hate to be holding you u—“
The reaper froze as she stared at Lizzy wide eyed, her mouth hanging open.

Wow…she just went for the jugular. All Hel could do right now was just stare at her, completely flabbergasted. She was the first person to just come right out and ask it…she was also the first to just so…blatantly say it…where as before Hel could bat the feelings and thoughts around within herself, hearing them physically out loud was alarming. The ghoul closed her mouth, and drew her knees up to her chest. She then wrapped her arms around the tops of them and stared off into the distance, thinking.
“…It doesn’t matter.” She said after a moment.

"I was, but it's okay. Mac can wait..." She felt silly now, for answering Hel the wrong way, although it did give her a chance to ask that other question. The ghoul's answer, however, was highly unsatisfactory, and Lizzy had to stop herself from frowning.
"Doesn't matter...? Why wouldn't it matter?" She asked softly, "What doesn't matter?"
