He had finally given in. She just wasn't happy where they were. He thought she would be, what with the beautiful landscape and then the gracious sea. But it seemed that he had thought wrong...
Whisper needed to be where she wanted to be, not where Laku and his adopted sister thought it would be best for her to be. Often times they were wrong... the green female was only happy and well-off if she was around others that she wanted to be around. The yellow male had realized this and so was escorting Whisp around the lands, helping her find old friends and such...
Whisper wagged her tail as she bounded along. Her strength was low but her spirit high. She was no longer dying and had actually put on some more weight. True, she was still looking like a twig and not all that healthy, but she was at least improving and attempting to get better.
A broad smile crossed her maw as she nudged her yellow friend Helaku then dashed forward in excitement. Every other minute or so she would do this. It was strange, really, but she felt the need to do it.
"I wonder if anyone lives here?" she asked aloud, voicing her thoughts and not really caring to keep them hidden. It would be bad if these lands were occupied by an aggressive and unfriendly pack. Whisp was definitely unable to fight, and Laku wasn't the strongest of wolves...

Lucikly for them this little corner of the woods belonged to the most peaceful of wolves around. For alongside the river, hidden in a pleasant glade was the den of Gizmo and his family. It was here that they hid from the wolves who wished to harm them and lived out their days peacefully.
Standing perched upon a large flat rock was the only adult male to walk these lands, his pink nose twitching as he caught the scents of the two travellers.
One of which he recognised.
An image of a green-furred wolf with a kindness that perhaps even exceeded his own flashed through his mind and then he remembered her.
Whisper.
A sudden and great excitement filled his chest as thoughts of meeting an old friend consumed him and in seconds he was throwing back his head and howling a greeting so strong that it seemed to echo from every tree in the vicinty for miles around.
Then with a fiery burst of energy Gizmo leapt from the rock, hurtling through the snow-covered ground at full speed, head held high and tongue lolling. His ears were drawn forwards, tail wagging and every inch of him spoke of joy and greeting. Who the other wolf was he didn't know, but he was sure that any friend of Whisper would be a kind and honourable wolf just as she was.

Whisp stopped mid-bound as the loud and strong howl rang out through the area, seeming to bounce off of every tree and sway with the wind. Deep green ears suddenly perked forward as she lifted her head high and allowed her nose to twitch with the new smells that suddenly found their way to her.
Gizmo!!
Oh, it had seemed so long ago when they had met. Yet that didn't mean she didn't remember him. If anything, she remembered him the most. His kindness, his friendly nature...
Looking over to Laku in a sudden fit of joy, the she-wolf whined excitedly and began to move back and forth rather quickly. She didn't have the strength nor voice to howl anymore, so she was hoping that he'd do it for her...
And it seemed that the yellow male was completely in tune with Whisper. He had seen the plea in her eyes for him to howl out in return. He knew that she couldn't do it herself but wanted to reply to this howl for she seemed to know the being that let it forth...
So in another instant his yellow maw was raised high, up to the heavens as a smooth and courteous howl broke forth in response to the other male's. It was in a friendly tone, one that announced they weren't there with bad intentions.
'Whisper is here, Whisper is here! She has come to visit,' was what the howl basically said.

The answering howl resonated through his entire being, sparking him into life and willing his limbs to continue when he thought he might need to pause for a breather. He panted with each long stride, hoping that each one would bring into sight of Whisper.
Then after an agonizing minute he finally saw them, two wolves standing side by side and waiting for him. This time he did pause, panting heavily as he tried to regain his composure and failed. His excitement meant that he was hurtling forwards once more, only just stopping short of pouncing his old friend.
She looked different. Somewhat thinner maybe?
He canted his head, tipping his ears forward as he set golden eyes upon the two wolves. He knew not the other wolf, but perhaps they were friends? Either way he didn't care, he was too glad to see the wolf of his past.
Whisper...why you here? He questioned, never once imagining that her path would bring her to his home. Giz happy to see you...you both. He turned to the other wolf, eyes tracing the strange colours of his fur. The two looked rather striking standing next to one another with their contrasting pelts and he felt rather plain being in their presence.

Helaku stood close to the green she-wolf. She had appeared to be excited by the presence of this other male, but one could never be too careful. And with Whisp in her condition... there was no room for risk-taking.
But when Gizmo came up and gave off the aura of a totally happy and peaceful wolf, he relaxed. He sat down comfortably and just watched the two. He was Whisper's bodyguard of sorts, and wouldn't let anything happen to her. So he just sat and watched silently, acting as her shadow rather than an actual wolf. It was habit.
The green female bounced up about two feet when her old friend came bustling up to them. He didn't look much different from the last time she had seen him, and was glad to see that he was in good spirits and good health... she hoped he didn't notice her lack of meat right away.
"To see you," she said, her voice a bit raspy. So the female coughed slightly and her sides heaved with each one. The yellow male perked his ears in concern but stayed put when he saw that she was merely clearing her throat.
"Happy see you, Gizmo." Her tail was now wagging behind her a million miles a minute. She couldn't believe he was here! She thought she'd never see him again...
Glancing back at Laku, Whisper suddenly remembered that they might not have met. "Oh! Giz... this Helaku. He good friend, traveled with me and kept company." She nodded her head once then smiled warmly at the two. Laku bowed his head slightly in greeting but said nothing. He might have seemed like a stiff or something, but that was really only because he had trained himself to be a silent shadow amongst others. His eyes shone brightly to reveal this.
"Everything well?" she asked, hoping to hear some good news for once.

Gizmo didn't mention the way Whisper looked as he figured it wasn't a very polite way to greet an old friend. She was alive and no longer alone and that had to be a good friend, right? What had she been doing since they had met all that time ago? He wanted to ask her so many things and the questions were bubbling within his mind, fighting to be givern voice.
Gis happy to see Whisper too. His own tail wagged furiously at hearing her reply, glad that she hadn't forgotten him in the long stretch of time. Hello Helaku. Gizmo spoke in the direction of the strangely coloured wolf, pausing once more to glance at Whisper.
Gzmo has many questions he want ask! The pink-nosed male spoke, stepping forwards to brush his snout against hers in a friendly gesture. Many things happen to Giz. He father, he have family he start pack! He bounced slightly on his forepaws as he spoke, trying to contain his obviious excitement. Whisper and Helaku meet puppies sometime? He canted his head, ears pointed towards them.
Life been kind to Whisper? You find...Fute? For indeed, their meeting had occured because of a lost friend, one that he had never actually seen before.

Whisper sat down tiredly, her tail still wagging furiously behind her however. She might not have the strength to bounce around for too long, but her tail never seemed to lose its friendly wag.
And it seemed that the excitement of the reunion was contagious, for a few minutes later Laku's green-tipped one began to slowly start in a wag of its own. Even a smile crossed his usually stern and serious face. It really made him seem like such a softy when he smiled.
"Ask!" Whisp encouraged, glancing back at her yellow friend to make sure that he was still there. Sometimes he was so quiet that he seemed almost invisible!
"Puppies?!" she asked excitedly. If there was anything in the world that she loved above anything else, it had to be the little wolves with soft paws and boundless energy. They just gave her so much life and spirit it was almost hard to imagine.
"Wow! Giz doing good!" Whisper exclaimed, rising to her paws once more. It seemed that life really had been good to him, and she was glad that he hadn't come upon the same fate that she had. But then again, her condition was her own fault.
"Meet puppies sounds good," she said softly, nodding slowly. Of course she would want to see his puppies! They must be marvelous...
Yet her mood and spirit immediately fell when he brought up the subject of Fute. Things had really taken a wrong turn with them... they didn't even talk anymore, let alone hang out or anything. She hadn't even seem him in a few months.
"Oh... no..." she sighed, lowering her head slightly. "Well, find Fute, just... don't talk n'more...."
Helaku whined, standing up and moving to comfort the she-wolf. Pressing his head against her shoulder, he was able to hear her stomach's grumbling complaints. Whisp was hungry. Suddenly he looked up and into her eyes sternly.
"I'm going to hunt. You can stay here with Gizmo." And with that he trotted off through the bushes, leaving the green wolf alone with her friend.

He nodded, the gentle curve of his smile ever present. He'd never have thought that his life would turn out so well, never thought he'd find anyone who would put up with him. His heart leapt joyfully in his chest as he thought of his dear mate and the pups they would raise here in secret and out of danger. This was his little haven, here with all of his friends.
Four puppies, they be glad to meet Whisper and friend.
He realised instantly that something was wrong, especially when she whimpered in such a manner. His ears drooped a little until they were level with the top of his skull and his tail curled about his hind leg. What had happened to his dear friend since they had parted all that time ago? He wanted to ask, but even that one small question seemed to bring pain. Perhaps there was something that he could do to help ease it?
He watched Helaku trot off to hunt before moving closer, sitting beside her so that their sides pressed together. Why Whisper no talk to Fute? He just couldn't understand why anyone would dislike this green hued wolfess. She didn't have a bad bone in her body and it made him angry that she had been treated in such a manner.
It took a lot to get Gizmo angry.

Four puppies! Wow! She would definitely have to meet them sometime. Whisp absolutely loved puppies. Maybe she could... no, better not think ahead while there were things to deal with in the present.
"Uhm... well... don't know exactly. Were mates, but when find him again, I thin... very, very thin. He get mad I let 'self do this." She paused to shake her head at the memories. The female had just been delighted to be with her mate again, but her condition had proved troublesome in the relationship.
"He get mad and go off. I no see for long while," she finished softly, sinking down to her belly pitifully. Her ears were drooping extremely and her tail was no longer wagging.
"Now live with Helaku and his sister Suzaku.. but no happy..."

Gizmo smiled at her reaction towards the puppies, it seemed every wolf he had met had a soft spot for the little ones. He didn't blame them though, not when they looked so utterly adorable. Had he looked like that when he was nothing but a scrap of fur? Maybe...
He listened sadly to her story of Fute though, the smile fading slowly from his face. If he had been in the same situation he would never have left Aeria had she been ill. He would have stuck by her side whether it was her fault or not. Gizmo no understand why Fute leave. He should stay by Whisper. He nodded defiantly. A wolf who was ill needed to be around those they loved, it was common sense.
Perhaps he could find this wolf and tell him to come back to her...but he didn't even know what he looked like.
At her last statement his heart sunk and he smiled fondly. She was almost like a little sister to him and he felt very protective of her. So nudging at her gently with the tip of his pink nose he gave a declaration. Whisp stay here if like. Plenty room.

Whisper absolutely loved pups, no matter who, when, what, how... and whatever else. Puppies were a cause for celebration everywhere and she found no greater joy than seeing a new, healthy litter coming from a lovely female. She had contemplated many times when she was more healthy if puppies were the right thing for her. Perhaps they were, but in her current condition she couldn't even ponder over the idea.
She nodded her agreement with her friend, but no smile came upon her face. Indeed, Fute probably would have done her more good if he had stuck with her all this time and actually helped her through her illness. Instead he had left her there and she had deteriorated a bit more. It really was quite sad.
"Maybe not know how to handle," she suggested, trying to defend her spotted friend and also give a reason to herself as to why he left her the way that he had. It hadn't been a pretty sight, really.
The green female was about to say more but she stopped herself when she heard Giz speaking and so listened to his words. Stay?!
"Oh, but no want to intrude... uhm... can't do anything for pack." Whisp looked almost embarassed to say that. Well, she could babysit, but what good would she do to the pups if she couldn't protect them should any danger arise? Thinking about it now, she really wasn't fit for any position in a pack.
"But would like to stay for while... visit? Maybe live eventually if like?" She didn't want to seem rude and just decline his invitation. It was just that she was nervous, yet she wanted to stay with him and his new family...

Perhaps... Gizmo mused out loud, wondering again what had become of her ex-mate. It would be wonderful for them to get back together but where to start looking he had no clue. His tail twitched and once again he snapped to attention, nosing at her shoulder in a comforting way.
At her rather embarassed statement Gizmo simply smiled affectionately back, she definately needed some tender loving care and perhaps him and her puppies were able to do just that. Whisp no need do anything 'till she's well. She rest here, get better then see. He didn't want her to think of herself as useless. Puppies like meet new faces, Giz think Whisper keep entertained with stories.
He stood up, shook himself and turned his ears around to pick out the sounds of her friend, perhaps they should go seek him out? Then it decided. Whisp stay here for long as she want. He then turned to her questioningly. Helaku stay too or he be going? He wasn't too sure on the situation of the yellow wolf.

Whisper whimpered happily as her friend assured her that she would not be useless if she stayed there with him and his family. She was glad that he thought that way, and that he was so kind and accepting.
"Really?" she questioned, just to make sure. She was positive that Gizmo wouldn't just dangle an opportunity in front of her then quickly take it away before she had a chance to really grab it. He was way too kind and caring for that. Never could she even imagine him being even remotely mean to another wolf.
"Could babysit too?" she offered up, her tail slowly wagging as she shifted slightly to get into a more comfortable position. Of course, she could watch the puppies! Gizmo only lived with his mate, right? She didn't think there were any other wolves... so if there were no others then hunting must have been hard. And since Whisp couldn't really hunt in her condition, she figured she'd open up someone else to assist on hunts by watching the pups for them. It was perfect!
"Helaku?" the female echoed, looking off in the direction that the yellow male had gone to. Would he stay? She'd think that he'd want to go back to his sister, Suzaku, but she couldn't be sure.
"Think he go back to sister, in other lands," she finally said.

He nodded at her question glad that she was accepting his offer to stay, he wanted to hear more of her adventures and perhaps help her find the one she had lost. Everyone needed someone to care for them in the world and until Fute appeared then Gizmo would take up that position. He'd be a big brother to her and make sure that as long as she stayed she would be comfortable.
Babysit helpful. He agreed, though pups lot of energy. He failed to speak of blind Kaya not because he had meant to but because he was somewhat used to her disorder and naive to the fact that others might find it strange or awkward.
Helaku welcome to stay long as want and welcome visit too. Your friend our friend. He shook his fur once more and too a few steps forward, turning to face her fully with his bright golden eyes. We find him or he find us?

Whisper's only reaction to one of Gizmo's pups being blind would have probably only been protectiveness. She was so much like a mother that most of the time she simply couldn't help herself. Puppies usually got her all courageous and such, because she believed that they needed the most support and guidance.
"Heh, could try at least," she nodded, shifting around slightly so that her muscles didn't stiffen or anything. She looked warmly and affectionately at Giz, glad that he was being so kind and acting like family towards her. It was really relieving to have someone actually act like they cared for her for once. Sure, there were all of her other friends, but they had seemed a bit preoccupied with other issues and such to worry much about her.
And Helaku... well, he was just a little TOO protective over her because of her condition. At times it was almost suffocating.
Nodding and ignoring her thoughts, the female stood to stretch. "He probably find us," she replied easily and with much confidence. "Normally does. Plus, if we go look for him, he probably lose us." True, Laku didn't know his way around these lands too well...
"Well, if Whisper plans to stay with you, I think I shall be happy to leave her in your care," a sudden voice rang out, and in the next instant a yellow figure stepped through the bushes. It was Helaku.
"I'd rather stay with her... but there is my sister." It was a hard decision. He didn't want his conscience to think that he was abandoning Whisp or anything. "You are sure you are capable of watching over her?" he questioned, stern gaze transfixed on the other male.
Laku wasn't trying to be mean or anything... he was just worried.
