I have friends who used to be my youth pastors when I was 14. They were telling me how in the past they invited many teens to church, like the one's who are obviously trouble and don't have Jesus in their lives. Well, church members, the elder ones, would get upset. "Those kids are trouble, why can't you bring nice Christian teenagers into church?"
This pisses me off. If Jesus were on Earth today, he wouldn't be in the safety of the church hanging out with ONLY Christians, he would be out reaching out to the troubled people! The fact that those "trouble-maker teens" came to church should make the church members happy. They should be reaching out to those who need it, not just stay in each other's safe arms.
People who are Christian are already saved, we need to reach out to those who need it, those teens obviously needed it. They may be "trouble" but they need someone who cares about them. How will they believe in God's love if those people aren't showing it to them? How will they change if no one believes in them?
What do you guys think?

Yes! Yes! Yes!
I also need you to come bring you into our local libraries to explain to people that providing service and outlets for teens gives them something to do & keeps them off of the street. smile

"Church is not a museum of saint but a hospital for sinners." This is something that a lot of people forget. Mark 2 6 When the teachers of the law who were Pharisees saw him eating with the sinners and tax collectors, they asked his disciples: “Why does he eat with tax collectors and sinners?” 17 On hearing this, Jesus said to them, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.” Unfortunately it seems that people often forget that Christ is about transformation, not hearing praise about how "good you are and they aren't". That's just spiritual masturbation. Too many people think that's what Church is about and it's quite unfortunate when pastors encourage that attitude.

What do you mean? "Love the sinner, hate the sin"? I think that was just generalization of what Jesus has said, such as "Love one another" "Love thy Neighbour" etc... Jesus never said anything about hating other people, he didn't hate the Pharisees, he didn't hate anyone. Sin and man made laws (of the church) disgusted him.

Revelations 19:13-15 Yeah jezus does love people.

Revelations 19:13-15 Yeah jezus does love people. That second one has nothing to do with... hate or love... That robe is dipped in the blood of the Lamb, most likely. Not sure what you getting at there... pulling random stuff out and thinking Jesus is a hater? Jesus denounced the people who didn't repent... That seems like you are taking one thing, and using it without reading the whole chapter, or heck, the whole book. You would see that Jesus is talking about those who said ‘Here is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners.' Matthew 11:19 Spreading rumors, lies, hate... so he told them their sins will not be forgiven because they did not repent. If some did, they will most likely be forgiven of course.

So not repenting for gluttony or drunkness is reason for death? Than why don't we kill fat people and drunks? And without tax collectors goverments would fail and we'd have chaos. He's coverd in blood and marching with an army... And lambs blood, of course killing animals for any reason that's always ok. Everyone spreads rummons, lies and hate, and rare repent, the worlds population right now would be about 15000 if we killed everyone who does that.

Wow... you do not get the bible at all... what are rummons? Jesus was saying that those who he gave miracles to were calling "The Son of Man" a glutton and drunkard. "The Son of Man" is Jesus and they called John the Baptist "The Devil". Those are lies and rumors. So then he said if they did not repent, they would go to Hell for their sins. The Three Symbols of God is a Lion, a Lamb, and a Dove. Lion = Father, Lamb = Jesus, Dove = Holy Spirit. The Blood of the Lamb, is the blood of Jesus himself. Mary uses white robes to soak up the blood of Jesus after he was whipped and tortured by the Romans before his Crucifixion. I believe, those are the robes he wears. I am sorry, but God IS Love. Jesus is the Word, the Word is God, the Word is Truth, The Truth is the Holy Spirit, and the Holy Spirit is God. You seem to take things out of context, or not understand what is actually being said.

Ok so God=Love Jezus=word=god=truth=holy spirit=love So God is a word true Jezus is god and the son of god so jezus is his own son hmmm So so love is truth don't think so And if jezus=god=holy spirit that makes it 1 not 3 lamb lion dove we'd get some sort of a hipogriff out of that i suppose. I don't get it So jezus bled himself to make his robe better looking? I'd use paint. So basicly he sent them to hell for name calling, yeah those bullies can be so cruel...

Yes, Jesus is is own Father, we get that it sounds crazy to us mortals, who can only understand the simpleness that is our own flesh and blood where we breed through sexual intercourse. God may have built us in "His Image", But I do not think that has anything to who with the Holy Trinity being "3 in 1". We can not comprehend God, what He is, what He does, what He wants us to do. We try our best to understand, but we will NEVER understand within these fleshy mortal bodies that are mere vessels of our eternity. Read John 14:5-14. Also 1 John 4:8.

It's not that he hated tax collectors, it's that back then, many were overcharging people and keeping the extra money. In Matthew 17: 24-27, tax collectors went to Peter and Jesus, and while Jesus didn't have to pay the tax, he did so out of respect, and had Peter catch a fish and there was money in it's mouth. And again in Matthew 22: 15-22, the Pharisees wanted to trap Jesus in his words, so they asked him if it right to pay taxes to Caesar, and in verse 20 Jesus asks "whose portrait is this? And whose inscription?" 21 "Caesar's," they replied. Then he said to them, "Give to Caesar what is Caesar's, and to God what is God's."

Woe= Sorrow, Distress, Grief
In the passage you refer to, He was likening the cities he mentioned to the cities of Sodom and Gamorrah, because they were full of people who would rather ignore signs sent from God rather than attempt to turn from their own selfishness...
What Jesus was saying here was that Sodom and Gamorrah didn't have any signs from God to encourage them to repent, and they were destroyed none-the-less... Whereas, the cities that He had visited had actual displays of God's power, and they chose to ignore that and continue in their selfishness...
The passage is a warning to those people that they would find more sorrow at Judgment than the cities that were destroyed without having the benefits of seeing examples of God's power. He was talking to His own Disciples about the grief awaiting those who deliberately choose to ignore God when He is trying to reach them... A warning that all Christians are aware of...
This is not a green-light for Christians to march out and call down God's Judgment on individuals who we feel are ignoring God. There is a difference between being a sinner, and deliberately living in sin, and Jesus was speaking to his men about deliberately continuing in a sinful manner.
