So many packages, far too little time. For some odd reason, Danny was really enjoying her delivery time. It was probably all the running and exercise, making up for all the hours she had spent in bed trying to heal herself up. Then again, maybe it was just because she could do fun things for her friends now.
Next on her list was Nahm. She hadn't seen him since movie club, and wanted to make sure he was okay! Well, she wanted to make sure all of her friends were okay, but especially the ones she knew closely!
Besides, Danny still wasn't sure if she had any of the "sugar" in her mouth. Maybe Nahm would be nice enough to check again!
Wandering around the monster dorm was always fun- all of the rooms were so different from each other. Most of the demon dorms were just expensive and fancy. Maybe she could find Kelpie Calder here too? He was a monster, right?
Finally Danny arrived at Nahm's door, which was oddly darkened. The lights were obviously off in the room. Maybe he wasn't in? That would'nt do any good. Well, she could always just leave the package on the doorstep if necessary. Either way, she knocked loudly and said, "Nahhmmmm~?"

"Just a sec," Nahm's voice came from behind the door. About half a minute later, the door opened. The heavy curtain that covered the doorframe had been pulled back; when Nahm saw who it was, he grinned under the shadow of his hood. "Danny! What a nice surprise. Wanna come in?"
The room was indeed dark; it seemed that the light spilling through the door was currently the only illumination. Heavy curtains had been pulled over the window as well, and there was a distinct lack of lamps. Nahm turned and padded over to the table in the middle of the room, leaving the door open so Danny could follow him in if she wanted to. There he turned on a small nightlight, the twins' concession to the needs of beings who couldn't see in the dark.
Ahm wasn't in the room right now. Business and/or trouble elsewhere to be attended to, no doubt.

Danny nodded fiercely at his question and wandered into the dark cavern that was Nahm's room. He had a brother or something, right? Did they maybe share a room? Then again, the thought of sharing a bedroom with her brother Oersted made her shudder from head to toe.
Either way, it didn't appear that Ahm was in. She watched as Nahm turned on a nightlight, and smiled. Maybe he was afraid of the dark? Danny recalled something about a rare disease where people were afraid of the dark. Horribly unfortunate considering about ninety percent of Halloween was in the dark.
Only minutes after did it click that he was doing it for her, since she couldn't see in the dark. "Oh um. Ah ... no need!" she said. As she spoke, she wiggled her tail a little. Sometimes it was nice having a walking lantern.
Danny remembered her purpose for coming though. "I have a present!" she shouted. Probably not the best place to start yelling.

Nahm jumped slightly and rubbed at his ear. "I'm right here," he said, then, "A present? Really? How sweet of you."
A low grumble sounded from the beanbag next to the table, and two shiny little red eyes blinked open in the middle of a puffball of fur. The devourer foxfire's mouth irised open, and it started yapping ferociously at Danny. Nahm sighed and scooped the mini out of its nest. "Shut up, Mr. Snappy," he told it, and scruffed behind its ears until its barking slowed to an occasional yip.

Danny was confused. "I know you're right here. I told you I can see, remember?" She wiggled her tail as if to reiterate a fact that Nahm clearly remembered from two seconds ago.
Nevermind that though! She had a preset to give! Danny reached into her handy-dandy bag to pull out the piece in question. It was squareish and wrapped in pink ribbon, just like the other fourty two million jillion sitting in her room.
Danny smiled and handed the package over to Nahm with a hearty, "Tadahhh!" It seemed as though everyone's reactions to their presents had been different. Maybe Nahm would eat it! That would be so coool. Of course, that would be a bit sad too.
She had picked the package marked Gregor for no real reason. It just sounded like a good name for Nahm.

"Oooh, what is it?" Nahm set Mr. Snappy down on the floor to examine the package properly. "Gregor? Hm, is it a snack?" He grinned at Danny, teasing; he knew it wasn't food. It smelled vaguely of minipet, actually. The ribbon came off with a tug, and he peeked into the box.

Aha! Her suspicions were confirmed! He was going to eat it. Perhaps Nahm was friends with G? Gargantuan had a habit of eating minipets that belonged to Danny (not that she minded of course. It wasn't unusual to eat minipets).
"It's a present!" she repeated. A worried look crossed her face, and she said, "Didn't I say that? DID I NOT SAY THAT?" Uh oh. Not good.
She seemed to be repeating things a lot tonight. Poor Nahm was probably going to think he was hearing things.
"My mummy sent a lot of them," she continued, not even remembering her previous hysteria, "So I thought you might want one!" Presents for friends, always friendship. Never not friendship.

"I'll take good care of it," Nahm said, and bowed theatrically. "I thank you for your gift, o generous one." He set the package down on his bed and patted it for good measure. Then he grinned and padded across to Danny in a rustle of robes. "Here, a proper thank you." He leaned over and kissed her cheek.

Danny was feeling rather accomplished. Her friend approved of her present! This was a big deal. For the first time she was doing something right that made everybody happy!
Then Nahm kissed her. Was he supposed to do that? Was she supposed to do it back? Unlike most who would look away shyly after a kiss, Danny stared directly at Nahm under his hood. Was there even a form to kiss there?
Also, Nahm didn't say what he was supposed to say! Danny look at him, clearly confused. "Nahm" she whined, "You didn't say it right!" Only Jack knows how her mind works.

"What?" Nahm blinked at Danny, confused. At this point, he'd mostly forgotten about the brief conversation during movie club; he had no idea what she was talking about.

Danny puffed her cheeks and pouted. He clearly didn't know how this worked. Well, lucky for him, Danny the teacher extraordinaire was here to help!
She stood up off the bed they'd been occupying and posed heroically. "See you stand like this," she said, carefully keeping her stance. Then she motioned for him to join her standing, and said, "Then you do the arm thingy." She was, of course, referring to the man in the movie embracing the female love interest, "Then you say," here it comes, "Gimme some sugar baby!"
Danny smiled, proud of her ability to recall movies lines in the drop of a hat. How it was that she could remember movie lines and not homework vocabulary was a bizarre phenomenon. "And then you check if I have sugar in my mouth!" A stunning recreation Danny.

Oh. Right. That. ... . . .  Nahm got the fit of inconvenient giggles under control and turned it into a coughing fit. Danny was just adorable, and who was he to correct her? "Excuse me," he said solemnly. "Frog in my throat. Must've gone down wrong at lunchtime." ... Was he going to be able to say this with a straight face? Nothing ventured, nothing gained! "Gimme some sugar, baby," he said, and swept Danny into a dramatic kiss before he could burst out in laughter again.

He was making fun of her, wasn't he? Danny's shoulders went all droopy, and her ecstasy dropped to a bare minimum. She thought she had done a rather good job imitating the reaper actor. Oh, now he was standing up, and now he w-
Nahm's swift dramatic kiss shut her thoughts up quite quickly. Praise Jack.
Danny's face was bright red, but she honestly couldn't tell you why. She felt a rush of emotions, but didn't know where to place them. Nahm was just checking for sugar after all. Why was she having such a weird reaction?
Even with Nahm's face so close to hers still, she still managed to say, "Y-yeah. Like that." Awkwardly, she stepped out of their embrace and said, "I ... I have to um ..." She looked around for some sort of excuse. "I have to go deliver more Rabos and stuff." Yeah, because that was definitely a good excuse.
Nevertheless, she started inching towards the door. Then she remembered the whole purpose of the ... embrace. "Oh um. There was no sugar right?" They had determined sugar was bad so ... Well Danny didn't want to spout milk like the people in the movie.

"Nope, no sugar." Nahm managed a straight face with a heroic effort. My, she did blush cutely. He turned back to the bed to give her a moment to recover her composure and to scoop up the cute mini that was now poking its head out of the box. "Adorable," he crooned, and scritched behind its ears.
Before she got out the door, though, he took a few swift strides to stand just behind her, leaning over her shoulder to speak quietly in her ear. "Oh, by the way, you shouldn't let just anyone check, my dear. It really just means gimme some lovin."
His grin bore no actual malice, but neither did it contain anything like an apology. The grue was certainly capable of being a nice boil, but sometimes? He could be a jerk too.

Danny looked at Nahm with complete confusion. Not distressed confusion, just pure idiotic confuse. Nahm new comment had thrown her off the boat and into the (theoretical, of course) water.
It meant ... what? But then ... That meant ... Nahm liked her? Or ... wait no ... But did that-
Danny dashed out of the room as fast as her legs could carry her.
