This bridge is probably one of the oldest ever created. It was built by an unknown master bridge builder who decided to make what is called a drawbridge, enabling traffic via the river below to pass. In the past, there wasn't much traffic but as time passed the traffic increased significantly. Most of the bridge is covered now, excluding the part which moves of course, and with the changing of the winds a lot of mist shrouds the Village in a veil of mystery during the Spring and Fall seasons. Visibility is almost non-existent, as a non-Kirigakure shinobi only being able to see, at most, one meter in front of him/herself. Unless under special circumstances, the rapidly flowing river below is too choppy for any shinobi to stand on. As a result of the increasing threat of terrorist activities, several ANBU are hidden along the bridge’s length, both above and below, never hinting as to their existence whatsoever.
