Garethon never came to the clubs without plan. He didn't waste his time dancing or listening to music, there was no point to it. He had enough to do without spending his time gyrating in a group of random sweaty strangers.

However, in a room full of liquored up women and idiotic men were plenty of opportunities fo various types of entertainment. It was a good place to dry run some easy schemes, and the results were often gratifying. Early in the night, he ran cash scams. He'd claim to be this thing, or that thing, get a few bucks and then dissapear. He even grabbed trays of drinks a few times, delivered them and ripped off the tips. He had to switch clubs after that one though, the scam revealed itself rather quickly.

It was getting to the point in the night though where he could start trying the pick-up schemes. He had attempted his first one, claiming to be a tv producer. It had earned him a drink to the face. Clearly, it was too early for that. He wiped his face off, scowling.

Tag laughed, nearly choking on his drink, as he watched the drink get tossed into the man's face only a few barstools away. He managed to swallow the scotch, but had to take a quick break from the drink and wipe his lips with a bar napkin. He brushed the empty barstool next to him with his foot, scooting it out as to offer it to the other man.

"I've been there, bro," Tag grinned to the man. "What type of stupid line did you try to play on her? Or don't tell me you invited her back to your place too early in the night. Its only..." He eyed his watched. "Quarter to midnight. Way too early for an invitation home."

Garethon kept his eyes cinched shut while the drink ran down his face, praying it didn't get into his eyes.

"Fortune favors the bold."

He replied blindly to the stranger, taking his sleeve and wiping the alcohol from his eyes.

"Nothing ventured is nothing gained, and other such obnoxious phrases. And all I asked her was where she saw herself in ten years, because I knew where I’d like to see her in an hour."

He grinned a little bit at his own mischievousness.

"Maybe if shed put more drinks in her and less on strangers that line would have worked, Mr...?"

"Swagger," Tag reached out his hand. "Tag Swagger. Channel Six News."

He flashed a smile, hoping that it may ring some bells to the other man. It wasn't at all uncommon for someone to not recognize him, especially men. Many citizens preferred DCNN or other stations, and few actually remember the names or faces of their newscasters. However, his ego often told him otherwise, and every time a female fan approached him, this idea only inflated further.

"There's definitely smoother lines you could have used than that," he laughed. "You may have deserved the old drink-in-the-fae with that type of pick up line, especially if that was your opener. Or your closing deal. Just in general...no. Not a good line."

Garethon smirked a little.

"Oh yeah, right."

He nodded when the man introduced himself. He did vaguely recognized him, from flipping through the channels from time to time. Garethon got most of his news from internet news sources, but he'd seen Tag Swagger on the air a few times.

"I'm Garethon Lafeu" He extended a hand.

"Pleasure to meet you. And no, not the best line. Mostly just testing the waters."

He wiped some more drink off his face.

"Apparently, there are sharks."

“There always are,” he retorted. He slid his finger across the rim of his glass in one slow circle before raising it to take another sip. He enjoyed having company while drank, although some flirtatious female company would have been preferred to the mundane small talk that came with male camaraderie.

“So what do you do for a living, Garethon?”

Will do!

Garethon raised his hand to signal he wanted a drink.

"Advertising, a large firm uptown. Middle management, that sort of stuff. Nothing that terribly interesting, but the pays good."

The drink came and he took a sip thinking. What to say to someone you just met? Whats the random stuff you're supposed to say? He rationalized he should probably keep talking about work.

"Do you enjoy reporting for Channel six, Mr. Swagger? I can imagine it must be a pretty interesting and enjoyable career."

"What's not to love?" he shrugged. "The pay is nice, the perks are unreal, and its something I've been working towards since high school. Life couldn't get be more awesome, really."

And he was leaving out his entire night operations as a Captain of the Negaverse. Of course, he was off-duty that night. As far as he was concerned, much of his work in the Negaverse tied into the work that he did as Tag Swagger: reporting on the news, keeping the public impression of the Senshi terrorists low.

"Not to mention the women that come with the job," he nudged the other man with a laugh and a wink as he returned to his drink.

"I can imagine."

Garethon smirked, taking another sip from his drink. The conversation wasn't going badly, and he did have some time to kill before he tried to chat up another woman (as it was clearly too early for his tactics to be effective).

"Advertising isn't quite like that, but not a bad gig."

There. He said gig again. What the hell was getting into him?

"And it leaves me with a lot of time off, which is important to me."

More important now than ever, though he didn’t say it, since he was spending many of his evenings prowling around as Magnetite. He'd taken the night off too, though he wasn't above changing into Magnetite if he saw a potential victim on his way home. It wasn't forefront in his mind though.

Sorry for the delay!

"Advertising, huh?" Tag smirked. "Its nothing like Mad Men now, is it?" He ******** loved that show - booze, cigarettes and women at work? Hell, he'd trade in this job for a lifestyle like that. Minus all the Cold War s**t, of course.

"Time off is always good, stops you from going mad," he winked and took the final swig of his drink. "I wish I had more time off than I do. I'd spend more time with my kid, you know?" Since his mother's recent death, Tag had been more eager to spend time with his son than ever - life was too short. Sure, he had always spent plenty of time with his son and cherished every moment, but the moments were too far and few between.

Garethon nodded. He definitely did know. If he could have more time with his daughter, hed take any job. Unfortunately, it was the court and not his work hours that prevented him from seeing Millicent.

"No, nothing like Mad Man these days, but time off is especially nice when you have children. It gives me time to spend with my daughter and that’s more important to me than any other perk, though the pay isn’t bad either, so I’m not really complaining."

He smiled and took another sip of his drink. He may not have been on tv, but he had most everything he wanted.

Tag nodded as he rose from the bar stool. "Definitely, it must be nice to have that much time to spend with your family." It was a evident from the staggering steps he took that that last drink was certainly the last of many, and he placed a hand of Garethon's should for momentary self-support as he refound his footing. He gave the a shoulder a small pat, a greeting farewell.

"I should probably head home, only a block or two away. Nice meeting you, Gary," he slurred. He got the name wrong. He knew it, but didn't care to correct himself. "See ya around sometime."
