This jaguar is one of the third largest big cats in the Western Hemisphere. He is a good swimmer, but also a solitary, stalk-and-ambush predator capable of dragging even large prey up into the trees.

✹ He's stubborn; he likes his ways and he likes being right about those ways. The type of person for whom anything is possible if he can just manage to get into it properly, Ciaran does not really understand the word "no" very well. He's never really learned that a) he can be wrong, and b) it's okay to be wrong. For him, he wants to be noticed, wants to be the one to solve the puzzle, finish the clues, solve the mystery. Ciaran can be rather selfish, and doesn't really know how to "play well with others," but he's strong and confident.

Despite his childish antics, he's intelligent and quick-witted. Very agile, speed is his best aspect when it comes to being physical - he's very capable of scaling trees, walls, and other things within second - and he's probably very good at hide and seek.

Unfortunately, however, his inability to keep his mouth shut most of the time means he gets into a lot of trouble. He's not afraid to say what he thinks - and he's usually not afraid, period, or at least, he tries to pretend he's not. He secretly has a love for learning, and is a very adaptable sort - teach him how to do something, and he'll do it.

Of course, you just have to convince him to actually learn in the first place.

The jaguar is a big cat, a feline in the Panthera genus, and is the only Panthera species found in the Americas. The jaguar is the third-largest feline after the tiger and the lion, and the largest in the Western Hemisphere. The jaguar's present range extends from Southern United States and Mexico across much of Central America and south to Paraguay and northern Argentina.

While dense rainforest is its preferred habitat, the jaguar will range across a variety of forested and open terrain. It is strongly associated with the presence of water and is notable, along with the tiger, as a feline that enjoys swimming. The jaguar is largely a solitary, opportunistic, stalk-and-ambush predator at the top of the food chain (an apex predator). It is a keystone species, playing an important role in stabilizing ecosystems and regulating the populations of the animals it hunts. The jaguar has an exceptionally powerful bite, even relative to the other big cats. This allows it to pierce the shells of armoured reptiles and to employ an unusual killing method: it bites directly through the skull of prey between the ears to deliver a fatal bite to the brain.

The jaguar is a near threatened species and its numbers are declining. Given its historical distribution, the jaguar has featured prominently in the mythology of numerous indigenous American cultures, including that of the Maya and Aztec. ✹

✹ Luciano is a very independent individual. He prefers to do things on his own, and does not like working in groups. However, surprisingly enough, he does enjoy the company of others - just not when he needs something completed or when the situation might benefit himself. One of his more common pastimes is going out with those he finds interesting, or with friends to get a drink. It's an odd oxymoron, but Luciano feels comfortable around large groups when there is no pressure to do anything. When he is just relaxing, he is all right, but if he trying to focus on other things, he gets tense and very quiet.

Luciano is very much the type to keep his emotions in check and hidden away inside of himself. He doesn't like to have to rely on others, and prefers to keep what he deems to be his negative feelings to himself. He rarely opens up to people more than he has to, and has a hard time forming intensely close friendships.

He has a kind heart, but an unsure, naive one. Luciano often gets taken advantage of because he doesn't like to believe the worst in people. While he's intelligent and calm most of the time, when it comes to other people, he's almost dense, but this also has to do with his idea of keeping up with a collected, "perfect" facade.

Luciano does not have a long, nor a particularly complicated history. He was born and raised in Venezia, Italy, and speaks the language fluently. His parents divorced when Luciano was thirteen, and his father quickly remarried within two years, to a woman named Cristola. Both Luciano and his two older twin brothers (Phillipe and Giacometti) get along just fine. His father worked as metal smith, and his stepmother taught culinary arts at the local university.

When he was eighteen, Luciano moved out of his parents home and into the dorm rooms at the same university his stepmother taught at. He graduated easily, and then moved to a tiny apartment above a small knickknack shop in Shinjuku. He's lived there since he was 23, and although it's loud and abrasive sometimes, Luciano enjoys the area and the sounds of the world around him. He says it gives him inspiration for paintings. ✹
