There were two nights a week Garethon specifically looked forward too. Twice a week he could loosen his collar. One was Friday, when he ran dungeons and dragons. He could ruthlessly vent all his frustrations on his players in the form of ogres wielding great swords or liches flinging high level spells. It was the second closest thing to fun he had at any point during the week.

The other day was Monday. It was the day he had visitation of Millicent, the one night a week he was allowed to actually see his ten year old daughter, the human being for whom he felt the most affection in the whole world.

Garethon loved Monday nights, and he tried to almost always have a gift ready to give to her when she showed up. This time, it was a Darth Vader voice changing helmet. It was a little more expensive than his usual gifts for her, but he could only get her so many different light sabers before she got bored of that. He wouldn't get her a gift next week and make up for it by letting her spend the evening watching her favorite episodes of the clone wars with him. Even that moronic show seemed better when he was with her.

He sat on the couch, watching TV. and waiting for her.

It was just after five when Bellatrix pulled up to Garethon’s house, letting Millicent jump out of the car and run to the door, knocking loudly. She did like Monday nights, she really did. She loved her daddy a lot, but still couldn’t understand why it was only Mondays that she could see him.

In her ten year old mind, it translated to her father only wanted to see her on Monday nights..and that thought always made her very sad. But, she tried her best not to let it show, and then just opened the door to her father’s house, running inside as her mother drove away. “Daddy! I’m here. It’s Monday night and I’m here! Can we order a pizza?”

Well, she liked that they normally had pizza. She enjoyed pizza. Millicent was dressed in her jedi costume and had her rainbow scarf around her neck due to the chill on the evening air, but she thought it just looked really neat. It never mattered what she wore to her father’s house…he never laughed at her like her mom did sometimes, besides, she had to be a Jedi around her dad, to make him like her more.

Garethon smiled, a warm, loving sensation washing over him as his daughter entered his house. Best night of the week.

He knelt down in front of her when she asked for pizza.

"Yes, we can, but you have a very important decision to make on what you want to eat tonight. Do you want pizza, ice cream, or both?"

He smiled wider at her, and reached around the corner to draw out the bag with her present in it.

"Also, you should probably open your present before you decide; you'll need it when you make your decision."

He nodded importantly at the paper.

She blinked at the bag and took it, jumping up and down for a moment, before hugging him tightly. “Okay!” The child drew away then opened up the bag, face contorting into a surprised smile when she saw what was inside. “Oh my gosh!!”

She had wanted this helmet, though would never tell anyone! It was just about the coolest thing in the whole world after all!

Millicent took it out of the bag then looked at it for a moment before opening up the box and putting the contraption on her head, crossing her arms and trying to make herself look important. She drew in a breath then let it out, trying not to laugh with how it sounded in the voice changer. “Well, daddy. I think for tonight, that both pizza and icecream are needed. We will use the food to crush the rebel alliance for good. Muwahahahahh!”

Coolest toy. Coolest toy ever. No contest for that.

He chuckled. She was adorable.

"Very well, lord Vader."

He said standing and bowing. He pulled out his phone.

"What topping should we the pizza be adorned with, my lord?"

He liked playing make believe with her, especially in taking a role that put her in a 'position of power'. He thought it was important to instill in her a good sense of competition while she was still young, since her backwards mother wasn't going to give her any sort of real life experience. Millicent would only be little for so long, but if Bellatrix had her way he knew she’d be an infant forever. That’s why Monday nights were so important, but he also couldn't make it seem he was lecturing her. She had to think it was all a game, or shed resent him and then he’d get nowhere.

He had put a lot of thought into this.

“Hmmm” She stroked at the bottom of the mask, pretending it was her chin. “Well. Mushrooms, of course. And perhaps some ham. Ham and mushrooms. That will be enough to power this Death Star that is my stomach.”

That about did it. Millicent erupted into giggles, the sound becoming distorted with the helmet and adding a very strange comical air to the laughter.

She always did enjoy playing like this, even though being Darth Vader wasn’t what she wanted, not ever! She wanted to be brave like Jacen and help to save the world, not become a bad guy like what happened to Anakin…the older Anakin, not Jacen’s dead brother Anakin.

There was a difference.

He nodded.

"Very well my lord."

He opened the phone, called the restaurant and placed his order. Once he was finished he closed the phone and looked at the little girl.

"So, what shall we do now, Darth Millicent?"

This had clearly been a good gift idea. He reached down to her.

"You have quite a few options. Some of your star wars games are still on my xbox, you could continue them. Or we could watch movie. Or play a board game."

He knew Millie would want to do something star wars related, so he was glad to have star wars monopoly and a few other such games, cause then they could play together.

With one hand she removed the Darth Vader mask; with her other she took his hand. “Well…I think we should watch a movie and play a board game. Yeah! I want to show you how good I’ve gotten at Monopoly!” The child held her new toy under one arm and looked up at her father.

“We should watch something fun, and then eat our pizza, then go for ice cream, and then it’ll be time for me to go home with Mom!”

She loved spending time with her father, she really did, but…her mother was just her favorite parent. She lived with her mom, so of course she would have a closer bond with her.

“I really like my new helmet though dad. It’s really cool. Oh! I made a new friend at school too! Her name is Minny and she’s really nice!”

"That’s good sweetheart."

He led her into the living room so he could find a movie.

"What do you and Minny do together?"

He pulled out his stack of kid’s movies and plopped them down in front of Millie, indicating she should choose which movie she wanted to watch, and then moved into the kitchen attached to pop some popcorn. He opened the bag, put it in, and watched it pop for a moment before returning to the living room to see how Millie was doing.

He was looking forward to spending time with her tonight; it had been a rough week. One of his schemes had come dangerously close to backfiring, and though it had gone off, he had been forced to maneuver in ways he couldn’t have predicted, and had been very tiring.

When he came back, there was some cartoon playing on the screen, and Millie was busy setting up the Monopoly game. She seemed so excited and looked up at Garethon when he walked into the room.

“Minny and I were planning a Star Wars party and mom said yes because she likes me to have friends.” The child laughed then shook her head, beaming. “I’m really excited she is so nice and we had this awesome lightsaber fight at recess, so, it was fun.

She pointed to the set up Monopoly game then laughed. “Let’s play!”

Millicent always enjoyed spending time with her father, always. Sometimes though, she did feel like he was just buying her affection…that was what her mom said every once and awhile.

Garethon sat down across from her.

"Is that so? And who won your little lightsaber fight?"

He reached forward to pick his piece, selecting Darth Maul. Power and grace, he was Garethon's preferred character. He placed Maul on go, preparing to roll the dice for the first time.

"Hold on, let me get the popcorn."

He went back into the kitchen, pulling out the popcorn and pouring it into a bowl. He noticed there was a hot mist coming off the food, so he leaned forward and blew on it a little bit, he didn't want Millie to burn herself.

He walked back into the living room with the bowl.

"Here, we can snack on this until the pizza gets her."

He settled down on the floor across from her again.

The child grinned and laughed as they played Monopoly and then as they ate the pizza and watched the silly cartoon. When the food was finished, she crawled into her father’s lap, resting against him, waiting for her mother to come and get her.

Mondays were fun. And Garethon did act like he wanted her, which was nice. She liked knowing her daddy was there. He was her hero after all. She was sure that…that he was a Jedi deep down…even if he did like to play the bad guys a lot.

Who knew! Maybe her daddy was even Camelot! Maybe when she fought with Camelot, she was fighting alongside her dad, helping to save the world.

It was a wonderful thought, and as she waved goodbye at eight forty-five that evening, she laughed, convinced that Camelot was indeed her father. But…she’d wait and ask Camelot herself…or if she was wrong…it would be bad.

Though…Millie was never wrong!

As Bellatrix drove her daughter home, the child watched out the window, clutching at her gift from her father--happy.
