He was still in a foul mood. It was going on now almost a week and although the arrival of his new pups brightened up his mood, he became a sour patch again with seeing Seven now pregnant. Imnir was likely the father. Lovely, not only had he found of Nefertari was spending time with the brute, but now he was going to have a family of his own. It was in the moment that Dorian whistled for him that he grew alert.
"Time for some training Ere." His human said, Nefertari trotting up next to him. seemed she was just going to come watch how her father trained in his down time. "Now that your wounds are healing much better." Dorian giving him a rub down and a pat before they set off.
Dorian walked them both to an open corral that had some hay bales and some dummies, one on some sort of strange pulley system and the other on some sort of springy platform. It seemed to hold everything for training, from attack to agility, to trying to anticipate your opponents next move. Good thing he was starting to get better. The walks and runs in the wilds was good for him too, but getting back into the swing of the fights would help him more than anything. He had begun to think Dorian wasn't going to get him back in the ring for the longest time. Giving a reassuring lick to Nefertari, he stepped into the corral and listen to Dorian lock him in.
Not moments after he got in did the dummy on the pulley system come flying at him, he barely had time to get out of its trajectory before it spun on him again. How did this doctor get this whole thing rigged up?! It was crazy! And what was Dorian trying to do, open his wounds up again with that heavy sand dummy! He snarled as he landed on his side, trying to get out of the way, and brushing up his wounds that itched from healing. Already he had tried to get out of the way of dummy and nearly gotten plowed into.
Heaving breaths escaped his maw as he growled at the dummy before it came at him again, this time he was lucky that it barely nicked him, but Dorian wasn't happy. “Erebus dodge it!” He snapped, it seemed there was a first time for Dorian getting angry at his fighter. “Dodge it!” As it came at him again. Erebus waited until the last minute before he got out of the way, listening to the way it hummed through the air and feeling his fur ruffle in the wind. He barked out a warning at it, taunting. Not that Dorian would understand him or the dummy for that matter.
Again it came at him, rolling out of the way he popped right back on his feet again. However Dorian rigged this, he liked it. This place gave him a challenge, now to figure out how to attack this fast moving sand bag without hurting himself more. The next time he swiped at it, feeling his claws rip into the cloth and tearing it just enough to spill some sand. “Now we're talking.” Erebus gave a haughty grin and dodged his opponent one more time just barely to quickly snap at it.
Moving opponent coming at him fast, this time he didn't want to dodge. He snarled at the quickly approaching thing and dug his paws into the dirt and got ready for a head on collision. Head down and horns out, as soon as it touched him he threw his head and gored the thing. Sand spilled around him in waves before there was only sand in the legs.
“Think you're tough now.” The white mokai growled his taunt. He could hear his pup giving a chuckle at her father's brash behavior. “Bring me something else Dorian.” He barked out as he looked over at his human.
The male pointed at the bales of hay that were stacked in a manner that he'd have to race between them and jump on them. To get his leg muscles working some more so he could jump higher it seemed. Already he was tired, they had been out there for what seemed like hours even if they had only been out for about an hour at max. Though the encouragement Dorian gave and Nefertari raised his fighting spirit and he carried on. Weaving in and out and jumping up and down on the bales. Gritting his teeth each time he felt the twinges of pain shoot up in his body. Already he could feel some of the wounds on his neck somewhat open up, didn't matter. He'd do anything to get back into the fighting game. That's when he heard the whistle, next part.
Now Dorian came in, Nefertari at his side with the leash in his hand, “Ok Erebus. Now its time to go all out on the dummy. Do me proud.” Then he backed up, giving Erebus the space he needed.
Attacking it mere seconds after Dorian gave him the go ahead he went out with all his might no matter the screaming from his weak legs. This was Imnir and Erebus wanted to rip the dummy to shreds. First he went at it head long, goring it several times with his horns but not ripping through, just putting in puncture marks. Then he ripped at it with his saber teeth. Though the thing danced on its springs, moving with him as he tore and ripped at it with horns, fangs, and claws. He even kicked up dirt and sand at its face just as he would in a fight.
Going at it for almost a half hour before he went for the killing blow. He used the bales of hay to launch himself at the things head, tearing it and causing the springs to creak as the burden of the sand and the mokai brought it to the ground. It sprung up and thumped, dead.
“I'm going to rip you limb from limb Imnir.” he snarled under his breath. No reason for Nefertari to be worried. He was tired and panting heavily, training was over. He wanted to rest and recuperate some more knowing he had opened a few of his wounds. Whatever.
Dorian came up and patted Erebus on the head, “I think its time for home and treats. Then to look at those wounds and get them patched up again. Good job Erebus.”
Next time in the ring... he'd fight again.
