Moon hunters were for defense, but the saying went something along the lines that the best defense was offense. You could make the reverse true, but as a hunter, defending also meant attacking. After all, they weren’t exactly brick walls. Plus he was sure those creatures could get past walls. No, if he wanted to be a good hunter, he’d have to learn how to tank. Take blows, and land them in return. He’d been looking for another moon hunter to spar with when he’d met Harrison. Marcus had only seen him in passing and in that moment, they had been fighting for their lives.
Not exactly a meet and greet type material. But after, Marcus had managed to catch up to him, and they decided to spar and get some practice in. Who knew. Maybe they would try the training course later, (Marcus wanted to try it on his own first though). All in all, moon hunter trainee Marcus was hoping this might not only help his in his skills, but get him a good teammate, and hell, if he was lucky maybe even a friend.

It was about time Harrison started rubbing elbows with other Moon Trainees, he figured. Full-fledged ones would be nice, to see how it was really done, but the other trainees would be his colleagues. If they all lived to get to that point.
He hoped a unit based on defending and rescuing would be good at it, for themselves and others.
"Hey, Marcus," Harrison said, checking his cell phone to check the time, then putting it back in his pocket. "B0nez has been waiting for a little sword-on-sword."

Marcus nodded, gald that Harrison could make it. “Really?” Did all swords have a need to-

Ohhh so thick and shiny. I bet that sword it very well polished-
Marcus mentally cut the former vampire off right there. “Dis just likes to make shitty perverted commentary on everything. Must be nice to just have on battle ready.” The blade was summoned and gave a deep blue glow for a moment. “Thanks for coming out here anyway. Been needing some goold old fashion practice. Lost against Jerry but keep winning Against Gale. Poor kid…anyway, wanted to see how well I’d stand against another moon hunter.”

"Hell, I was hoping to get tips from you. They left out swordsmanship in my field training. ...B0nez doesn't say much about uh, anything inappropriate, I don't guess. It's more like having a DJ with a tracklist from hell."
And an upset stomach. Ugh. You know. If I still had a stomach.
"He hasn't been feeling too good lately, though."
He considered Marcus's combat record.
"Bringing a knife to a gunfight, huh? I wouldn't feel too bad about losing to Jerry. That sorted that guy into Sun for a reason."
He shifted his stance, and then asked, "Ready to practice some defense?" before faking left and then taking a stab at Marcus.

Marcus chuckled even after the blow struck true. “Tips? Best one I can give are pretty obvious. Don’t piss off the division leaders. Your a** is grass if you do. “ It was a bit of fact and a well known one at that. So much for anything substantial as far as tips went. “And if I knew Jerry was that ******** powerful, ******** I’d have backed off for a bit you know?” A slash and a miss.

...Mentally Dis was making lewd comments, something along the lines of how Harrison was already shirtless now just make him pantsless and MARCUS WAS NOT GOING THERE. "I can tell you how to stab, but from how this is going-" He got him again. "Think you have a hang on that." A stab back. Stabby time.

The blade went through Harrison's middle. Harrison smiled. "Yeah, stabbin's surefire. That's the stuff. I just feel like it should be fancier than that."
It's not.
You haven't even been with anybody else before, how would you know?
This isn't Lost Soul Calibur.
Harrison defiantly tried a fancy swishing motion. He didn't even scratch Marcus.

"Well, yeah, but..." Harrison started, as he weathered a hit that, minus B0nez, would have split his shoulder open.
He got in a small return stab. Why did he assume Marcus would know any better on the subject than he did? It wasn't like most people were experts at this.

Marcus hadn't lingered on his choice long. In retrospect, he probably should have with the whole 'giving up your life' clause. "Just go to stick with the choices you make and make the best of things. Just why I am training." Hack and slash to the legs, Marcus was doing alright.
