It had slowly dawned on Roch that he was one hundred percent sure that Lattice.. his fellow hardcore buddy... was a ghost. He'd been trying to ignore the fact for a while, even as it nudged at the back of his mind. But Lattice was a ghost.
And he still needed to do what he was about to do. For a long moment Roch stood in front of the ghost dorm, his hands shoved deep into his pockets, a palor to his skin as he thought about what he was about to do.
He... really didn't want to do this, he thought, starting to turn. He blinked as he came almost face to face with the person he was looking for. "Lattice?" he said. "Ah, hey! I was, y'know, looking for you! Can we talk for a bit?"

It wasn't Lattice that he turned to face.
Needle had been, well, ghosting around campus, taking a walk in hopes that the cool air would help clear her mind from the pain that lingered in her arm. It didn't work, and so she was returning home to perhaps draw her sorrows away. When she heard her sister's name she paused, her head tilting as she registered that there was a boil there; his clothing's dye was not an ink she could pick up easily, and truth be told she likely would have walked in to him had he not said anything.
"I am afraid you have the wrong person, Sir." Needle said softly, offering a very small smile. She was curious as to why this particular boil wanted her Sister (though she didn't know how anyone wouldn't want Lattice because, let's face it, Lattice was the greatest ghoul in Halloween), but such questions were push asi--
"May I ask what you wish to discuss with my Sister?" Oh who was she kidding. She loved being nosey. A lot. "Are you her friend? I could bring you to her, if you wish." But likely not before getting some form of answer.

"Sis--oh, yeah, yeah she told me she had a sister," Roch said, his degree of happiness falling as he realized he was talking to the wrong ghoul. "Um... I'm Roch," he said. "I met her a while back, and... I wanted to talk to her--you know, about the field trip," he said quietly.
Memories flashed through his mind, visions that the Soul Harvester had placed in his mind as they started into the fight. He had--
"I just need to ask her something," he finished a bit lamely.

Lattice had gone off to run a quick errand for herself just to pick up a couple of new tins of tea and a couple of other things to lightly snack on but nothing too major. She was just in the process of trying to move on with her daily life while trying to only worry about more recent things until the moment came to deal with each of them. Her basket of goodies was gripped securely in her fingertips as she caught sight of Needle's form and then Roch's form she tilted her head and wondered briefly if she should approach them or let them talk.
As the tail end of their conversation reached her ears she found that he was looking for her and this made her curious enough to wander over to stand near her Sister.
"Roch? To what do I owe the honor of your inquiries?" Standing side by side with her sister it was almost like seeing double. Almost. There were minor differences but let's see if Roch figures them out!

"I am Needle, it is a pleasure to meet you." Needle, not a stranger to greeting customs, held out her hand. The only thing she would regret was that her new needle was on her right arm, and the move was painful...not that she let on, her face remained as impassive as ever. Oh, so it wasn't about anything particularly out of the ordinary? ...That was somewhat disappointing.
"Ah, I understand! Very well, I will take you to---Ah, there she is!" Needle's sidelong look at her sister was surprisingly fond for someone whose eyes were hidden by a mask. Her hand slid to the side, gently locking her pinkie finger with Lattice's. "I will leave you to it, then." With a graceful bow she released the finger, moving to take a step away.
This was, after all, between Lattice and Roch.

"Hey," Roch said, after shaking Needle's hand. "Lattice... I need to talk to you somewhere... quieter. I need to--I need to apologize," he said quietly. "And I want to do it somewhere we can talk."
If that wasn't just begging for Needle to snoop... not that he realized it.

Lattice openly smiled toward her sister as they linked pinkies for what seemed to her to be an all too brief moment as she looked from Needle to Roch and then back again for the moment. Certainly there was nothing Roch could say that couldn't be said in front of her Needle. The thought became washed away by Roch's words when they began to register for her.
"Apologize? For what?" Was she mad at Roch? No not that she could recall in fact she still rather enjoyed his company! Lattice didn't bother to make him continue on right then and there, "Alright but...is it alright if my Sister comes along? I hide nothing from her."
Needle essentially knew EVERYTHING ever that Lattice knew and thus keeping secrets or knowledge from her was like torture for the red clad Engraver.

"Yeah, I figured she knew," Roch said, shoving his hands into his pockets. "But this is somethin' you probably don't know--and I don't really want to bring it up in front of an entire dorm. I hate to ask this... but can we go to one of your rooms?" he asked.
He looked at the ghost dorm again, still rather pale and not very happy looking at all. But... he had faced freakin' hunters to try and get to her earlier. He could handle a few ghosts.

Needle paused when she heard the apology, but luckily it was timed very well, as Lattice asked if she could join. The Engraver, who had already taken her first steps towards the dorm, paused and pivoted to face the pair again, her eyes looking hopeful behind her mask. An apology? Something that sounded important? Oh please let her stay there and listen, at least!
"I promise my lips are sealed." She said, somewhat getting the saying wrong. Slightly. "And if you require a safe place to speak, our rooms may be what you are looking for." The ghoul gave a reassuring smile. "We have always been good at keeping secrets; what is said in our rooms, stay in our rooms...You may even find the relief you seek." Meaning: Please come to our rooms so I have an excuse to listen and join and maybe help get those emotions out through tattoos please please please.

Lattice nodded a bit, "Alright that is fine, you can come to our rooms," she glanced over at her Sister's form and giggled a bit and nodded, "Our rooms are very safe, I assure you." Without even hesitating she wandered over to gently take Roch by the hand, "Come join us. I'll even make tea if you like."
The Engraver started to lead the way to the Dorms, "Come Sister, it seems we have a guest." Lattice almost sounded happy at the prospect but it probably helped that she enjoyed Roch's company no matter the reason for it.

He let them lead him, reminding himself that Jove lived here, too. And Jove was pretty cool. Besides, he had more important things to think about. He had to explain all of this to both of them, and he wasn't quite sure how...
Or how to ask them for what he was thinking about, either. "I... I gotta ask, you both, you're both blind, right? Or almost blind?"

"Lattice does make the best tea." She nodded, her head tilting towards her dear Sibling now. "Yes, it seems so. Your room or mine?" Not that it mattered, they tended to move from one to the next together, after all. The ghoul turned, holding the door open for Roch before moving in after him. She regarded his question, and after a sideways glance at her sister, decided to answer him.
"Lattice was born blind, I was born with sight, but she and I can see exactly the same." She explained, tapping her mask for a moment. "Mine removes my sight, and hers gifts it. We see only basic shapes, and just enough to get by until our FEAR is honed enough to no longer need it." There was a little pause as she rounded a corner, moving by some invisible ink that only ink-sight gifted scarelings could see.
"Is that an adequate answer to your question? I could explain further, if you wish." She seemed happy to talk about their masks; it was almost something of a taboo back home. Yay freedom!
Whichever room Lattice chose, Needle stopped in front of, opening the door for both Sibling and Guest.

Lattice let her Sister do the explaining since she was more focused on just getting into the dorms for now and the journey there didn't take too long though now Lattice needed to try and figure out just which room to use since one was as private as the other before she nodded toward the door that was hers, "We shall use my room today," Lattice said softly and when the door was opened she quietly lead the way into the room.
"Thank you Sister," she murmured as she passed and then she went about putting her things away and starting a kettle on her small stove for some tea, "Make yourself at home, Roch, sit where you please."
As for Needle? Needle could do whatever she wanted.

"But you can see ink, right?" he said. "So, if someone has a tattoo or a pen on them, you can see them, right?" He seemed intent on this point, almost too intent. It was as if this was the real reason he was there.

Needle usually always did what she wanted anyway. :V
She did not take a seat, rather amused herself by standing between the stranger and the door. She was catching a hint of something, but she couldn't quite place it...until he mentioned ink. Behind her mask her eyes widened, and it took everything in her to stop from grinning wide.
"Of course, our world revolves around ink, our livelihood is made by making lasting marks on flesh." Oooh yes, she definitely got a hint of something she enjoyed more than life itself, and she was going to jump on it. "We would indeed be able to see you better if you had one. Would you like one, Roch?"
