It was a challenge that had brought the arctic gryphon out of hiding in her room. She wanted to be braver and she wanted to be stronger. The im chat with Bul the day before had some how brought upa challenge. A battle.
So this was now why the gryphon stood a little too eagerly and a little too timidly in front of the ware house. She wasn't about to give up and run away from this challenge now. Nope. Her and Bul had made a promise to get stronger and so thats what kept her clawed feet planted where they now stood. Her tail nervously twitched from side to side.

ALSO, ooc note for anyone outside of this that reads, this is timed sometime in the future after Bul's recovered haha!))
Tahki and Bul had created a very strange friendship that was based on the mutual respect of getting better at being scarers. In actuality, Bul wished he had more friends like these where strengths could be tested and lessons learned outside the classroom and the horrendous field trips that they experienced.
After a final check at his computer he grabbed his things to leave.
Today they were going to try out the gym. It would be Bul's first time battling legitimately on school grounds. The last he'd fought with anyone were two neutral fist fights with West and Sammy. He'd lost both.
Entering the gymnasium he was almost immediately stricken with adrenaline. What was once Red's domain now stood eerily as a reminder that this was why they trained- to prevent it from being an orphan again. "You ready ghoul?" Bul smiled to her from a stance away, looking rather calm but inside his blood boiled with the excitement of battle.

He had arrived just like he said he would. For a moment there was a surprised look on the gryphons face which was wiped away with a slightly serious, slightly nervous look. This was the real thing right here. Tahki and Bul had agreed to practice fear and what better way to do so then a fight.
"Y-you came." She gave him a grin and revealed her very sharp finger nails. "Alright! Here goes!"

Tahki started at Bul with feline/avian speed. The gryphon had not really payed much attention to her surroundings though and tripped over a rock. She landed face first on the turf below at Buls feet.

"Of course I did! Haha, why wouldn't I?" Bul chuckled. If there was something Bul had plenty of it was crazy. One wouldn't go as far as to say balls since they always got stomped but the next best thing still worked.
That being said the boil was still ready and even as the gryphon tripped he jumped back as if a powerful hit were to make contact.
"Oh jack you alright?" he asked with a raised brow.
Giving her a moment or two to get back up the boil then went for a punch to her shoulder as encouragement. "Come on let's see those claws for real~"

Bul helped the now red faced and embarrassed Tahki up and gave her a punch. It wasn't hard but it reminded Tahki why they were here.
"R-right I'm okay. Don't worry we gotta get stronger right?" She gave Bul a smile before she went in for another strike.
At such close range there was no need to be weary of ones enviroment. The felines claws hit on target making up for her trip. The gryphon, in her surprise, spread her wings and jumped back. Her hands covering her mouth.
"B-Bul. I'm sorry! Do I need to get you... Wait. Gotta be strong." She made a hmph sound and did a fist bump. "C-come at me r-red head!"

After Tahki recovered Bul was expecting a lighter hit than what came plummeting into his face leaving a slash across his collarbone that even ripped his shirt.
"DEAR JACK!" he hissed then stepped back but instead of cursing her he started to laugh- creepily. Creepily for being attacked that is. "That's more like it-"
Grinning he knelt and lunged this time. Monsters were known for their claws and brute force so there was no guilt trying to scratch back. After all, this was practice and not some touchy feely let's be gentle fight.
Naturally Bul was shocked when he lept at the ghoul and found his claws meeting the floor if anything. "What the-"

Tahkis wings flexed out a little in fear at the sight of Bul coming for her. Still, she stood her ground, claws out.. eyes shut tight. Nothing happened? Tahki looked down to find the boil on the ground similar to her.
"S-sorry about this!" The gryphon struck the monsters back with her claws. This was a battle. They had to get stronger and Tahki was taking Bul very seriously out of respect.

Maybe he took his taunting a little too far?
Wait why was she apologizing?
Bul was met with another attack this time from behind and with another couple tears to his shirt he wheeled around and tried to return the swipe but only found air at the end of his own claws. "What the Jack is going on-" he panted and lunged to the side on all fours, preparing himself for another one of her attacks. Maybe he'd need to try his fear again? It had been a very long time since the field trip anyway.

Bul lunged to the side and Tahki couldn't have blamed him. She never realized how sharp her claws really were until now. Still, this was a fight. The two had agreed to get stronger. Wings fanned out and gave a powerful jolt foward claws extended. She aimed for Bul with unforgiving slashes.

Bul would consider sharpening his own claws after all of this if he lost this battle so quickly. In fact, the only time he could recall a beating like this was when he fought the hunters on the island.
"WHAT ARE YOU?!?" he cried out in psuedo-horror before he started to feel the ooze of his fear seeping out along with the blood she'd managed to draw from his skin.
The red goop started to swirl at his feet on the group and the boil hissed in a sort of fluxated state between his normal and natural form before he started to kick them up and pelt them at the gryphon as an attempt to stop the horrible barrage. It was plenty disgusting.

Red globs of ooze came hurling toward the gryphon pelting her pretty good! She felt the impact and the stickiness of the attack. It was powerful enough to actually knock her backwards on her back.
The gryphon didn't take long to get back on her feet and lunge another claw attack at Bul. This time she was disoriented from being pelted by ooze. It was a hit but a dull hit.

Panting after such an (dare I say it?) explosive attack, the half beast was struggling to catch his breath. Bul felt a pelt at his side and narrowed his eyes. It had dawned on him that she hadn't even begun to use her fear.
"s**t.." he uttered to himself before he lifted a 'bloodied' leg and rounded it towards the ghoul. Long legs were better for fighting than his claws it seemed.

Buls game was stepping up! Tahki wasn't surprised though she was glad to see Bul stepping up and battling. Then a leg met her side and she felt her body hit the ground with a thud. Her wings lifted her up and she was back on her feet in no time.
There was a jump, a wing flutter and a claw dive for Bul. Tahki swiped twice.

He came here to practice with Tahki as in help her become better... but Bul found himself to be the one getting his a** destroyed. Was it because he took it too easy when he arrived? Was it because he wasn't in peril? Did he really need hunters and goliath monsters to give him the ability to survive?
Maybe.. but maybe he was just lucky. It was like the West fight all over again when Tahki landed her next hit. Stumbling backwards the boil sighed and took a deep breath.
"Look who is schooling who!" he cheered weakly. "Damn... DAMN." he smiled. Looks like he'd be needing more pratice! In a last ditch effort to keep himself standing the boil began to ooze once more but this time he threw the snot upwards in an attempt to create a barrier. The last time he'd tried it it only came moderately close to protecting him out in the canyon. This time... it worked!
HP: 9/40
Damage: 0, but Bul is safe from next damage!
