Dance lessons were going pretty well…at least well enough that Odette wasn’t falling over all the time like she thought she would be. No. No she was managing to stay on her feet, and kind of liked the feel of ballet slippers on her feet.
Tonight, Super Sailor Albireo was practicing, sure her shoes in her senshi form weren’t quite a flexible as the soft ballet shoes…but they felt good on her feet too. Plus, it was a lot more fun to dance in her senshi fuku…her skirt twirled with her, unlike the leotard and stockings that she wore during ballet class.
She spun around on her toe for a moment, then a very cool gust of wind came at her and she shivered. She never could remember her jacket that she kept meaning to bring with her. It was during times like this that she really missed her bloomers…at least then part of her legs kept warmer.
The senshi sighed, walking over to a bench in the park she was dancing around in, then sat down, wrapping her arms around herself and shivering, hoping to warm herself up until the wind stopped.

She had been sneaking around and stalking the power that she'd felt not long before. It hadn't really moved that much in it's location, and so the cat had decided to check it out, see what might be interesting a senshi so much to linger when she didn't feel any signs of chaos or others nearby.
Someone attempting to dance was not what she had expected to find. Her dual colored eyes narrowing in soft curiousity. The outfit and power level had changed a little, but the girl was unmistakably familiar. Albireo, swan senshi. And apparently she was learning to dance despite her original insistance upon not knowing how.
After first Dahlia didn't attempt to make herself known, instead simply watching the other girl twirl before she finally reacted to the cool night air and breeze.
A soft rattling of purrs announced the cat's presence, a quick hop bringing her up to the bench and immediately up towards the girl. There was the risk she might lash out, but Dahlia took the chance, bumping the top of her head against the girl's elbow.
"Looks like someone could use a fur coat." She teased mildly. "Or some shared body heat perhaps"

She felt that bitter feeling that chaos brought and gave a little jump as something fuzzy and…and warm rubbed against her elbow. The girl looked down and her eyes lit up when she saw who it was that had decided to pay her a visit. “Dahlia! It’s so good to see you again!”
It didn’t matter that the cat felt chaotic, it didn’t matter…it was still something warm, and warmth was a wonderful thing to have at the moment. “Yes…a fur coat would be nice. It’s a pity I didn’t get one with my upgrade. No, I just lost my pants!” She laughed and reached down, running a hand through the cats soft fur, smiling.
“I started dance lessons, I was just practicing some stuff…They’re really fun, I’m surprised, I really thought I’d be horrible at them…” It was strange how easy it was to converse with the corrupted guardian, but…it really was easy. She felt very comfortable with Dahlia so close, it felt nice. “How have you been? Has everything been going well?”

"You're new outfit is beautiful. Even prettier than the last." Dahlia complimented softly as she allowed herself to be guided closer, brushing her well furred tail against the girl's bare skin. She wasn't very large and didn't make a very good coat, but the cat didn't seem too opposed to warming the senshi up what little bit she could.
A pleased purr and nod escaped her as Albireo mentioned the dance lessons, her ears perking up in obvious curiousity. "Is that so? You'll have to show me some more once you've got the hang of it. But I'm not terribly surprised." She winked, in the best way a cat could, before offering another set of throaty rumbles and a gentle tease. "I have a very good eye for talent after all"
The question about her, whether it had been simple politeness or not, was latched upon quickly, the creamy colored cat happy to chat about all things Dahlia. "Things are going well enough for me. I've been working extra hard lately. It can get exhausting but it's fulfilling nonetheless."
"Being useful is such a wonderful thing. And goodness knows I love making new and stronger bonds."
"What about you darling? Making new friends?" She asked curiously. The greeting had been very pleasant.. but it didn't mean that the swan senshi hadn't become more connected to her own team in the time the two had spent apart. Testing the waters was important, even if Dahlia would much rather have just had girly chatter and pampering time.

“Oh, well, thank you! I like it a lot…The skirt is a lot of fun, you know. Jumping off of buildings is kind of fun, it puffs up like crazy…” Albireo let out a little laugh and blushed just slightly at the compliment, and the request to see some of her dancing.
“Well…All right. I’ll show you, but only because I know you won’t laugh at me.” She gave a little nervous laugh and continued to stroke the feline’s fur, smiling now as she listened to what Dahlia had been up to. “I’m glad things are going well. I wouldn’t want anything bad to be happening to you.” In terms of cats…Dahlia was by far her favorite, and the prettiest as well.
“Friends…well, I’ve…had a lot of things going on. And I suppose you could say I made a friend…and I’m glad there aren’t any bad feelings between us…” She gave a heavy sigh, closing her eyes and just seeming, upset. Even after she had made up with Leto, the whole thing still bothered her.
“I met another guardian cat as well…he called me his animal. Dahlia, I am not an animal. I’m a person, and I don’t want to be a monster.” That cat, that Pippin had offered to take her up to her home world, but that did nothing more than add a bit more dislike for the creature…no matter how adorable he was.

A soft bit of amused and pleased laughter escaped her as the senshi spoke of her dress puffing and the thought of actually having fun while she was out in costume. It was quite adorable, and even though Dahlia believed in the important of doing your job... one couldn't always be completely serious. A little fun and delight was what made life worth living.
"Perhaps helpful critique but never laughter" She offered genuinely. It was not untrue that Dahlia had a cruel streak running through her blood. Sometimes jealousy or pride.. or simple irritation could flip a switch that would send awful things out of her lovely mouth. But when she liked someone as much as she liked Albireo... or Benitoite.. or even Realgar it tended to sweeten her tone. Perhaps if one day they angered her in an extreme sense.. but until that day Dahlia remained as soft and pleasant in her personality as she was in appearance.
Her whiskers twitched with a soft spark of possesive jealousy as another cat was mentioned. How dare he try to claim her? But Albireo's words quickly soothed her. It seemed little had changed. The senshi of swans still seemed conflicted about her thoughts, not locked under the same brainwashing that most who fought against the negaverse. Though the cat felt bad for the poor senshi and her sighing and worries of becoming a monster... she was also thankful for them. Thankful for the way they allowed her to finagle her way into the life and affections of the little ballerina.
"That's good, we all need friends and people to turn to." Like herself.. hint hint.
"Don't worry about what that other cat said. Of course you're a person. A good and wonderful one that actually thinks and cares about what they're doing."
Nuzzling a cool nose and then the warmth of her fuzzy cheek against Albireo's arm she cooed softly. "Carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders."

Albireo nodded. People did need friends. She needed friends…friends who could help her to really figure out this whole senshi crap. It was crap. It was dangerous, and scary…why, meeting with Painite was becoming one of the brunettes worst fears. Perhaps second only to the fear that continued to grow within her, the fear of turning into some awful violence loving monster. That was what really scared her. She gave a little sigh and pulled the cat closer.
“I don’t want to carry the weight of the world on my shoulders. It’s too much. I’ll find some way around it. I don’t…I won’t become a monster. I won’t allow myself to.”
It was some sort of resolution, a promise. And Dahlia was there to listen and make sure she kept her word.
“Thank you for being my friend, Dahlia. I wish everyone was a wonderful as you.” It didn’t matter if she was a corrupt guardian or whatever. She was a friend. She cared. More people needed to be as open minded as Dahlia. Maybe then all of the fighting would end. Maybe that’s all they needed was to give the other side another chance. Or at least the chance to talk.

Dahlia could be ruthless... cruel... there was a streak that run through the cat that was undeniably dark, a fire that fed and clung to the chaos that had corrupted her. But it did not mean she wasn't good at masking that darkness, at wearing a veil of beautiful charm to get what she wanted. It also did not mean that the cat was inept of any goodness or love. Though sometimes she pretended and did things with alterior motives.. it was not the case with the senshi of swans.
Perhaps it was their small connection in dancing or the way Albireo had been so welcoming and accepting of her off the bat. Whatever the reason it was no lie to say that Dahlia was her friend and wanted to be her friend. To protect her from the pains that weighed so heavily on her young heart. In others she expected, even demanded strength, but she could not make that demand of someone so gentle.
"Some sacrifice is required of soliders. Without it there would not be enough drive or power behind either side to go anywhere. But that sacrifice should not be your soul."
If only Dahlia could break those final ties.. clear free the brainwashing of the white moon on the young senshi. If only.. She nuzzled into the tight hug.
"You're a good girl Albireo. I'll always be here for you."

Albireo swallowed then nodded, squeezing her eyes shut, trying to get rid of the sudden presence of tears. She promised she would always be there for her…She needed someone like that. She needed a promise of that.
She just wanted some damn stability in her life right now. She was sick and tired of living a double life, and just wanted it all to end. “You had better always be here for me. You’re all I’ve got, Dahlia…If you left. I’d be all alone.”
At least as a senshi she’d be all alone. She was toying with the idea of just…stopping her patrols. Giving up her ‘destiny’ and just living life as Odette again. She was pretty sure that would ease the strain on her mental stability, for at least a little while.

"I promise on my eternal beauty" Dahlia teased softly, affectionately, trying to soften the emotional toll that was obviously upon the swan senshi. Too many soggy tears left for puffy faces and matted fur, and that was not a very good look for either of them. But seriousness was quick to follow sealing the deal. "Whatever comes, I'll be here for you."
"Just trust in me and I'll always take care of you Albireo."

Albireo nodded, giving a little sigh, and even managing a smile. "I really do adore you, Dahlia...but, I'm going to head home now...I think I'll go sleep for about a hundred years or so." She let out a soft little laugh then put the cat down.
"I'm sure I'll see you later though. And...and I'll try to be happier then, okay? I know you'll always be my friend...and I'll always love you, Dahlia...thank you!" She scrubbed at her eyes then waved before leaving the scene, not really wanting to remain there, lest she really lose it in front of the guardian cat. But, even if the cat was on the other side...a person still needed friends, no matter where the friends came from. That was just how life worked.
