There was a fair share of irony in seeking energy; it wasn’t necessarily hard to collect from civilians, however the general act in itself eventually got exhausting. Not only just physically, but mentally—and probably emotionally, as well, if Remarque had really put enough thought into it.

He had grown far too accustomed to the routine, and it was far from being a comfort that each night he went out, it always seemed to be the same. During the day, he had a routine that he liked to keep, if only because that meant everything was orderly. At night, it was different. At night he wasn’t living the mundane life that everyone around him was. At night, Remarque got to do things that others could only dream of.

When he was powered up, there was always that undeniable urge to do something. He’d always had a drive to be great, but it seemed to only grow whenever he was out patrolling. Today was an off day, if anything.

Remarque hadn’t started collecting energy in the park, nor was he even motivated to do such at all. What was supposed to be a quick little trip turned into a now hour long stroll. He’d kept to himself, not going out of his way to avoid others, but certainly not seeking them out. He hadn’t been paying attention to where he was going, but that certainly didn’t matter when he could just find any mirror big enough for him to walk through to take him home.

Though he was familiar with most parts of town, he rarely visited a good portion of the city. He had arrived at a park far different from the one he usually stalked; this one seemed more fit for children to play in after school. It had a homey feel to it, and seemed in no way dangerous, so clearly it was a good place to take a small break before deciding if he wanted to try and gather some energy or just head home.

He made his way to the swing seat, flopping down into one of the seats. He leaned against one of the chains, enjoying being off his feet for the moment. It probably would have been a wise idea to have had more coffee before any of this, but earlier, he hadn’t been so damn lethargic, and now it was just too much effort.

Bifröst had made a bad habit of frequenting the park. Climbing buildings really wasn't her thing, nor was jumping them, so she kept to the parks, whether it was on near her Grandmother's or her parent's house. Tonight, like many, she was at her Grandmother's house and out patrolling the area. She pulled gently on the green ring she'd put on a chain and kept on her person at all times. IT was better than pulling at the rings on her fingers, though she did that too.

This night she'd wandered the park for a long while before coming across the playground... and a power signature she didn't recognize. But one that made her stiffen and be more cautious. Though, if she could sense this signature, its owner could sense hers. She climbed the play structure as quietly as possible before peering over one of the barracades to look at the owner.

It was a boy senshi... but one of those senshi with the black shirts and long flowy things. Definately not one of the good guys.

She'd only fought youma, except on the Surrounding. (And Mothra was still going to get it for swinging first.) Encountering one of the enemy out here... she wasn't sure what to do with it.

She'd hide for now and see what happened. At least, hide as best she could given the whole omni present power signature thing.

Remarque had not been oblivious to the approaching power source, though also hadn’t considered giving it much thought until it felt like it was practically right next to him. He’d barely been on edge, but the fact that it had been moving—and now wasn’t gave him the distinct impression that he’d been found.

And yet, no one was presenting themselves. Which was just plain creepy.

He continued sitting on the swing for a few seconds longer before he found himself growing ridiculously agitated that no one was showing themselves and yet could be so close. He stood, lips twisted into a scowl and hands clenching and unclenching as he tried to wake himself up a bit. “…Doesn’t say much about your character if you’re going to sit there and hide,” he called; he couldn’t pinpoint where exactly the power source was coming from, though he kept his eyes and scanning the area for anything that looked like it could be a threat or that simply seemed out of place.

She kept silent for a moment as she peered through the play structure at him. She was more curious about him than anything else, but at the same time, she could tell he wasn't some one on her side. Caution was the better part of valor, right? Or something like that.

Bifröst pulled her hood around her head more before speaking.

"And you like measuring someone's character, He Who is Colorful? And I am observing, not hiding. You just can't see me," she said. Her mind pointed out that she was, actually in fact hiding. She ignored it for now, moving as quietly as she could around the structure, to continue watching him.

It never really occurred to her that he could move through mirrors. Or any of that.

Perhaps that would end up being a bad thing...

Remarque did not like that she had the advantage of sight whereas he was still blind to her; he had pinpointed where her voice was coming from, however, and though he couldn’t see her he wasn’t expecting her to ambush him from behind.

That worry out of the way, he stalked towards the voice, alert as best as someone who had just been drifting off to sleep could be. “I do like measuring character, don’t you? I’d like to know who I’m dealing with, and if you won’t show yourself, I’m in my right to assume you’re just a coward little girl. I never said I’d hurt you, so what’s the harm in coming out, hmm?” he prompted.

He might have been itching for a fight, but that didn’t mean he was going to just scream out, ‘Hey, come on out so I don’t have to come find you just so I can beat your face in’—and, anyway, it’s not like he minded conversation. He found it quite enlightening, however his encounters with order aligned folk hadn’t really resulted in anything good. Albireo had been of interest for a short while, though after her attack he didn’t have any problem avoiding her. She gave fantastic headaches.

“We could get to know each other, you know. Chit chat. Be friends. All that jazz,” Remarque continued, though his tone promised interest in nothing he’d mentioned. He wanted to know who he was dealing with—and the best way to dispatch of them. He’d yet to have a pleasant run in with anyone aligned with Order and was more than ready to chase away whoever was disrupting him now—by whatever means necessary.

"I am no coward. Cautious, but not cowardly. Something told me that being friends with you isn't a good idea." She said loud enough for him to hear.

He probably wasn't going to expect her to be up on the highest point of the structure when she came out into the light. Her lilac eyes glowed some as she looked down at him. She stood perched on the wall, hand on one of the last structural members before the big slide. Her white dress coat moved around her legs a little as she stood there.

He was below her, and she felt like a good drop in on him would be good. Though she might have destroyed that opening now...

Well no time like now.

"The Gatekeeper of the Bifröst deems you unworthy!" She said as she jumped down, aiming with her heels for his face or chest. Whichever she hit first.

Girls falling out of the sky, feet-first, aimed towards him was not exactly what Remarque had been expecting, so it didn’t really come as a surprise that he didn’t react enough to escape her entirely. Her heel made contact with his chest, though he was able to save himself from looking like a complete fool by elbowing her, hard, in the side as she came down. It might not have done much in the way of actually doing damage, but it propelled him a good few feet away from her.

He stumbled, in the process, though didn’t fall, and spun on his heels to face her. “What the hell?” he demanded, instinctively rubbing at his chest as if such would dispel the pain caused from the contact of her heels to his chest.

“Is that how you greet everyone you run into past sundown? By jumping on them?” He took the few seconds he had to glance over her—and recognized her from the Surrounding—albeit only because she had been his intended target before that redheaded whelp of a page had intercepted and prevented him from making his way to her. He knew Lesath had made it over to the girl, though had never prompted for the outcome and didn’t really know what to expect from the—albeit pretty—blonde in front of him.

Except, maybe, heels to the face.

She tilted her head at him, a pleasant look on her face. The elbow to her side had been annoying and she'd stumbled a bit as he jumped away. Ok, her side was in pain, but she wasn't about to let that show.

"Oh no. Just you, He Who is Colorful. You don't seem to look up much," said Bifröst. Whether it was the calm way of her speaking, or the fact that she just didn't fear anything at that particular moment, she seemed incredibly confident of herself. Too much perhaps.

That was going to bite her in the a** soon here, wasn't it? Yes, yes it was.

She spun her rings as she waited for him to move; she could think up many different ways she could fight, but wasn't sure how to actually excute them. Perhaps this was a good way to learn then?

As long as she came out of it alive, of course.

Remarque’s eyes narrowed at the girl. “Because I wasn’t expecting something to come out of the sky,” he huffed. “What’s your problem anyway, girl? Are you looking for someone to kick your a**?”

She might have had the advantage of height a few seconds ago, but now she was standing right in front of him—in plain sight. She didn’t have the same advantage anymore, and Jett certainly wasn’t about to let her get it again.

Hitting girls might not be okay in most people’s book, but right now, she was just asking for it. You don’t just jump on someone and expect them to be happy about it, and Jett was more than willing to show the girl who he deemed unworthy now that she was strutting this confident attitude where he could see her.

Her head tilted again. "Perhaps you should expect people to come where you least expect it, hmm? And no, I just want to see my limits. So I suppose that means getting my butt handed to me? I'm not quite sure," she said with all honesty. Bifröst really had no idea what the hell she was doing. Going with the flow? Asking for a can of whopass to be opened on her? Just wanting to have fun?

She had no idea. It was probably a combination of all of them combined, but the Page had never been in a real one on one battle before. First time for everything?

She fell into an odd looking half defensive, half offensive stance and waited. Or rather, waited while straffing to the left. Why? It seemed like a good idea at the time.

Remarque scoffed. "If you wanted to have your a** handed to you, that's all you had to say, sweetheart. Not that I wouldn't have minded talking. You're pretty easy on the eyes. But, your call."

It confused him a bit, that this knight would be so willing to attack and then so willing to admit that she was wanted to push her limits. To him, it sounded like she actually wanted to get the snot beat out of her--and if she was more inclined to exchange bruises instead of words then he'd just have to oblige.

Why did this one remind her of Jett? At least attitude wise (the boy wouldn't be caught dead in that out fit). And easy on the eyes? Really? Should she find that flattering or annoying?

"I'm... nice to look at?" she asked him rather confused on the whole thing.

Instead of trying to figure what he meant, she launched herself at him, aiming to either tackle him or punch him in the jaw. It was really a toss up on what would happen, given it seemed she had no other abilities besides sensing people. So tackling him and perhaps punching him (or punching him instead) seemed the plausible choice her.

Remarque lifted his head, a bit surprised by her charge; he had expected his words to stun her for more than just the second it took her to reply. It wasn’t that Bifröst was easy to read, just that there wasn’t much she could be planning with the way she was running at him. He waited until she got close enough and then side stepped the attack to avoid taking damage—but didn’t stop there. He hooked one arm around her waist and grabbed her fist in his hand in an effort to prevent her from trying to attack while in such close proximity. He used her own momentum against her to guide her movement; Remarque spun with her, as if engaging in some sort of elegant dance.

And kept it up.

His footing was quite accurate, though he didn’t suspect the girl would go along with a half-assed waltz for very long. “That’s what I said, isn’t it? You’re very pretty. Why do you seem surprised to hear that?” Never mind angry—what sane girl would attack a guy who just complimented her? But, then again—what girl was sane?
PostPosted: Fri Mar 02, 2012 5:05 pm

For a moment Bifrost allowed the dancing. She looked up at him, head cocked to the side. " Because its either a way to distract someone, or you actually mean it, and I can't decide which it is. I thank you for the compliment though." The Page jerked herself out of his grasp and threw a kick to his shin.

Bifrost wasn't so much angry with the compliment as... confused. And in a way, she really was easy to read. The girl had no weaponry to speak of, so what else could she do but punch and kick him?

Kick. A ******** kick. What was with all these knights and using their legs as weapons? It was ******** painful, and it just so happened to be a bit of a weakness of his. He was interested in normal boxing, thank you very much. Kick boxing was just a pain in the a**.

“Ow,” he exclaimed, before he could censor himself. He hopped back on one leg and rubbed at the offended area, giving Bifrost a dirty look. “You’ve got a fancy way of showing flattery, you know.”

He stood up straight, giving her a disgruntled look over. “It makes having a conversation rather difficult with you just focusing on attacking me. You’ll never make friends like that. No wonder we’re always fighting each other, you knights are downright belligerent. I suppose I’d have better luck talking to a wall than you’re kind.”
