Today was just like every other day, Buttercup traveled alone and did everything alone. It may seem strange to most but she got used to it after awhile, after all she had been wandering around on her own since she was little. Though there was always a part of her always wanted a friend to share this time with. Luck though never seemed to fall in her favor. "Oh well, its no time to think about that," she said aloud shaking her head with a slight smile.

Just as dawn was beginning to approach her smile grew. It was the time when this very cool temperature day was soon to be shrouded in darkness. As she walked and thought to herself she looked towards the sky, night time was her favorite time of all. Since the sky lite up with beautiful little lights almost as if it were a special holiday that happened every beautiful night. 'Man that is So beautiful,' She thought to herself silently as she trotted along the land still looking at the sky. Her head and mind were completely focused on the sky, that even she didn't think to pay attention. Since who knew when danger could be lurking around the corner...

Deadening grass muffled the falls of her hooves as she plodded along watching the sun descend into dusk. She was a large mare, built like for war yet graceful and delicate with her movements like a lady. Her family came from large stock rivaling drafts for size and dwarfing most mares. She'd been teased some growing up but it'd never gotten to her. Though apart from her siblings and cousins.. she lacked one true good friend. some one to revel in comradery with her. Sure, she had a few acquaintances and male buddies she could let loose with and rough house.. but nothing like that true partner in crime and companion to stick it out with you through thick and thin. Even now her nephew was getting out of his comfort zone to find friends while she still lacked one true best friend for her own.

As her eyes were drawn to the beauty of the stars she stood staring at them for what felt like an eternity. In reality it was only a couple of minutes, though she didn't realize that quite yet in her mind. For the stars beauty was so captivating to her lonely eyes, the way they shined and glistened with every glance she took of them. She would never admit though that looking at the stars all together she felt a little jealous. Since each star had a partner or friend to keep them company. Unlike her who had no one but her headphones around her neck and the grass and trees that stood around her large body. Sadly those objects weren't very good at conversation at least for her.

As she stood staring it was almost like she had been put in a trance from the stars, that she almost didn't hear the sound of hoof steps coming closer to her location. Though lucky for her, her ears quickly picked up the noise and stood straight up in attention. At that moment she quickly turned around on her hoofs, facing the direction she had heard the noise coming from.

"Hello..." she whispered quite loudly to the wind. "Is someone out there?" she questioned with slight unsureness. Part of her hoped her ears weren't just hearing things. In her own head she secretly hoped someone was out there. Be them an enemy or friend, to her anyone was better than no one at least right now. 'I'd sure love some company if someone is out there,' she thought quietly in her head as she looked around trying to see if she could spot anyone in the distance.

The wind carried whispered words to her ears. As she drew closer, she smiled lightly. "You must not travel much at night if you risk such whisperings." She wasn't being mean, just stating a fact. Whispering into the darkness before you could see the one approaching often meant doom for many an unprepared soul. As she spoke, she stepped more into view, her bow and veils playing lightly with her hair in the breeze.

Stopping a decent distance away, she nodded her head in greeting. She was large for a mare, standing taller than most regular sized mares, Her frame was well toned hinting at the conditioning she'd had growing up, all the wile her body language read as fluid, demure and lady like. She stood their looking more like A diplomatic sort than her mother had ever hoped to, she was for better or worse, her grandfather's granddaughter through and through.

Seeing the voice gather closer to her she smiled in their direction before returning a reply. "Oh no I believe night is the best time to travel, though out here I tend to only meet allies," she said with a slight laugh. Since the truth was rarely ever did the noises she heard ever actually tend to be another person. Normal it was just a rabbit or wolf looking for a place to stay the night. That was why this person did catch her off her guard a bit, though she would probably never admit that

"I'm Buttercup, by the way,"
she said aloud kindly before watching them come into her view distance. The voice she had heard was a mare and a strong built one at that. The mare almost looked like she was ready for battle at any moment, like nothing or no one could probably catch her off guard. Yet at the same time she was lady like with her figure and pose. 'Wow,' she thought in her head not allowing that word to escape her mouth and instead just stand there with her headphones on her neck. Compared to this mare Buttercup almost felt under-dressed.

Olive colored eyes looked over the mare as she came into view. "Is a pleasure meeting you, Buttercup. I'm Tian." She smiled politely and gave a slight bow of her head. "Forgive me if I seemed a bit rude.. There's often danger afoot lurking in the shadows at night. One can never be too careful you see." She sniffed lightly at the night air. A hint of something musty, earthy tangled with blood and fur played on the night air.

Shaking her head she looked around casually. "A passing Mountain lion it seems has found it's way near enough the night air picked it up..." She gave a small chuckle. "This one doesn't smell entirely friendly but I'm willing to bet it's just looking for an easy meal. It won't bother the two of us." She was right. A single mountian lion wouldn't dream of trying to take on two grown healthy mares. At least not so long as it wasn't crazed.
