Bul's excitement over the existence of the Fitness Club's sauna had initially baffled West, but after reluctantly giving the thing a try, he had come to realize that it was a rather nice place to spend a bit of time. It was relaxing, for as long as he could tolerate such a feeling, and he found himself seeking out the small, steamy room when he needed time alone. He certainly didn't need time alone now, in fact, this was probably the worst possible time for the demon to be alone, but there West was, making a halfassed attempt to rest. All of the aspects of the sauna that were usually calming made him uncomfortable today -- the mist, the silence, the whispering hiss of the rocks as they sizzled with soothing steam. It was everything and nothing like that place. After ten minutes, West couldn't take it anymore. He gathered his towel around his waist and hurried from the room, barely remembering to prop the door open before he left. He supposed that was one of the reasons why he wasn't supposed to be in here alone.

Once he had dried off and changed out of his swim trunks, West planned to sneak out of the Fitness Club meeting room undetected. He probably would have made it back to his room with no one the wiser, if it hadn't been for his own curiosity. The light in the NAP Club room was on. Was someone... practicing napping in there? West smirked and shook his head, peeking around the door frame.

"Hey!" he barked, hoping to wake some lazy unsuspecting student. "Who's'in 'ere?"

Holly hadn't been sure of what to do that day. There wasn't any homework, not that it would have been the top of her to do list. No one seemed to be around either. Most seemed to be getting over the shock of the trip. She would be lying if she wasn't bothered by that trip. How in Jack's name did only a day pass. One day just about? It felt like ages ago that she took her test to be a knob. Add one more onto the list of ways the school tried to kill her. Again.

Today though, she decided to do something fun. Or something close to it. The ghoul was part of NAP but wasn't very good at actually napping. She joined because of the pajamas. Plus, that room was the most comfortable ever, her own room has a grand total of two pillows in it. Not very good for napping.

She was having trouble napping though, thoughts of the trip still going through her mind. Her eyes were closed but she was far from sleep. There was a sound from outside, or was there? At the other's shout the ghoul peaked an eye open. The voice sounded very familiar and her other eye opened. West? Holly sat up from her lounge of pillows. "West? Ya don't have to yell." His hair looked kind of damp. Huh. "What are ya doing over here?" She hadn't seen him since the tent after the trip. Least he could talk now.

Oh. He had been hoping for some sleepy-eyed Snot, but it was Holly. Alone. In the NAP room. Hmm. He almost muttered an apology and left, but the entire situation was a little too strange and amusing for him to simply ignore.

West took a step inside, immediately feeling like he was invading enemy territory, despite the fact that quite a few students he considered friends were members of this club. He shook his head and grinned slightly. "Y'shoulda been on our side. Fer paintball." Another step. "I was in th'Fitness room doin'... Fitness things." Not sitting in the sauna having uncomfortable flashbacks about his death. "What're you doin' in 'ere? Besides nappin'. 'Cause that's obvious."

Really she was half expecting him to answer her one question then bolt out of the room. He seemed a bit off, compared to normal, probably the trip. Everyone was acting odd. Holly was still sitting on some pillows but sitting up right now. Was he alone then? She glanced out the door. Looked like it.

Also looked like thinking time was over. He'd been there though too, maybe he could make some of what went on clear. She rose a brow at his statement. Paintball? Holly shrugged. "Only saying that because I won that last round single handedly?" Was it possible to be in both of the clubs or was there some sort of odd ruling against that. Wow, wasn't he being vague this day. "Bet Fitness has a bunch of neat stuff over there." Maybe she'd check it out, one day. Eventually. Really, it was obvious? "Can't I nap in the NAP room if you can do Fitness things in the Fitness room?" Of course she could. Holly motioned for him to take a seat on a near by pillow. She wasn't sure why she did but well, she did. "Okay, ya caught me. I was thinking, not napping at all." She wasn't going to say about the trip flat out but it was implied. Who wasn't thinking about the trip?

"Pretty much," he agreed, trying and failing to hold back a grin. "We mighta won wit'you." West shrugged. Whatever. What was done was done. Paintball had been all right, but now with the gym open properly... His smile faded slightly at the thought of Red's former domain, and his next words were much more terse. "Weights. Punchin' bags. Boxin' ring. Fitness stuff." He took another step closer to the heap of pillows, briefly wondering if their presences was Yaya's doing. Probably.

When Holly admitted she had been thinking instead of napping, West's smile faded the rest of the way, settling back somewhere between neutral and mildly pissed. He sighed, his confession hissing out with the air he expelled. "Yeahhhhhhhhh, me too." Slowly he bent over, taking a seat a couple of pillows away from the ghoul. "That trip blew."

"You would have won with me." The ghoul scoffed. NAP would have won by more games had she started playing earlier too. She was slightly hoping they'd have another game one day. Hopefully. Holly nodded as he listed some of the things to do in Fitness. It all sounded pretty darn fun. ... Was it actually legal to join both? That would make any other tournaments, well, interesting.

Her face turned to a grimace for a moment as she thought about her thinking. It was pretty obvious what she'd be thinking about. West came upon the same conclusion too. Good, she didn't want to have to spell it out for him. Holly rose a brow. Had he been thinking about it too that day. They didn't loose anyone during the island trip but this one... She sighed. "Yea, just a bit. It really didn't seem that bad at first did it?" Sure those first few rooms were trying to injure them but it wasn't horrible. "Who were those hunter things anyway?" She hadn't been there for that part and still didn't know much about them, just the name.

He shook his head and chuckled, but the sound only held the barest hint of mirth. "Not that bad. Sure." In hindsight, West could admit that freezing cold, burning hot, blinding, watery, princess-crown-filled rooms were heads and shoulders above death and Hunters, but at the time, that part of the trip had sucked too.

"Next trip I'll be 'appy t'do without any a'that, thanks." He looked a little confused at his own words for a moment, chewing on his lip thoughtfully as he sat back on his pillow pile. First of all, he was implying that there would be more class trips, which considering this loony bin of a school, probably wasn't that far from being the truth. Perhaps more appalling though, was the implication that he would be going on them. He sighed softly. If given the opportunity, he probably would, especially if those white-coated bastards showed up too.

"I dunno who they were, really," he admitted. West hadn't missed the fact that they were very powerful humans who seemed dead set on killing the denizens of Halloween, but he still didn't really understand why. When asked, a fruity-looking one had yelled "because you exist," but that seemed like a pretty weak reason. Humans were made to be scared. They shouldn't fight back. The thought kind of made his skin crawl. "Angry humans, I guess? Red was... hidin'." He lowered his voice. "One a'them weapons they were all carryin' ate 'er an' then she turned inta that thing." Holly had seen Red Monster at least. "They were tryin' t'catch us." That hadn't lasted long. He shrugged and yawned. Did they pump something into the air in here?

It was safe to say none of the trips had ever been safe. Well she couldn't speak about the Christmas one but she heard enough stories. She was pretty sure the next would be horribly worse than these previous ones too. It seemed a common theme to involve death. Not cool. Especially to not talk about it. The ghoul shivered slightly at the thought of the trips. She grinned just a bit. "You really think the next trip would be any different?" Of course the only way to know would be to go on it.

Holly knew she'd end up going to just know too. To not go and only get to hear about it later? She couldn't very well sit back and just wait. It now seemed trips involved the Hunters. Would the next too? The hunters had almost seemed like reapers when she first saw them. It was the weapons and all. They were crazy though and weren't too good at taunting. Humans then? Those were real live humans. Huh. That was sure a development. It was a lot to take in. She'd been there for some of the fight but her group had been busy trying to not die before getting transported to the Red Monster. " .... It ate her? Where'd she even find one of their weapons." It was as much a question to West as it was to herself.

Catch them? For what purpose could they want Halloween students? "Was that all that happened before the rest of the students joined ya guys?"

West shrugged. He hadn't actually thought much about where the crazy flamethrower had come from, nor how Red had even been able to infiltrate the Hunters in the first place. They called her another name, he thought... Aria? West might have asked around, tried to find out more, but with the boogiemen lurking about and that ridiculous joke of a "retirement" announcement, perhaps now was not the best time. "I dunno," he muttered. "But I'd never wanna get my 'ands on one anyway." It was one thing to be pummeled by trees or spherical ghosts or awesome peppermint ninjas, but to get eviscerated by a hunk of glowing metal? Nuh uh.

He shifted a bit in his seat, unsure as to how much to reveal to the ghoul about his death and subsequent resurrection. After a brief pause, he chose a nonchalant approach, suspiciously and awkwardly changing the subject.

"So, uh, hey. When y'fell down that pit on th'island, what, didja, y'know, the place y'went. What was it like?" Subtle. "'Cause it might be relevant."
PostPosted: Fri Nov 25, 2011 6:33 pm

Holly nodded in agreement. She never wanted to be near one of those hunters or those weapon things they had ever again either. Who knew what was in store in the coming months, knowing this school and how it loved to put them in danger. She'd take any other trip over that haunted place ever again. Ever. Christmas was coming up and well, after her coming to the school almost a year ago, there was bound to be something going on again.

She'd been very interested in finding out what had happened while she was busy running across a battle field and disarming bombs but the boil decided to change the subject. Odd. Especially since she'd asked the question directly.

The pit on the island? Holly thought back to that time. She had tried to jump across a pit or something and fell. The last thing she had seen was West. ... Then there was nothing. Or everything. How could that be relevant to fighting and that battle. "Well, it was odd. Kind of didn't have a body." Which when she thought about it wasn't too odd for her but still strange. "I thought I heard voices and saw people." Had she been hallucinating? She still wasn't sure at all. "And some other stuff, trying to remember. Why?" Trying to remember since she'd blocked some of it out of her mind.

Hmm. The boil continued to speak once Holly had stopped, ignoring her question either deliberately or by accident. There was a kind of desperate fervor in his eyes, as if the right response from the ghost ghoul would answer some sort of question he couldn't properly articulate. "Didja see anythin' there? Like blobs or people you knew doin' things, but they couldn't see you?" West sat up straighter as he grilled her, his voice clearer as well. He remembered she and Demi talking about the place they had gone to when they died during that trip, and he was sure it must have been... but he'd had a body and he'd definitely seen everything. Maybe it wasn't the same. West sighed, the momentary jolt of tension that had gripped him gone again.

Was he trying to talk to her or just ignoring her kind of? She still couldn't tell at this point. Whatever was going on, West was kind of freaking her out a bit with that look in his eyes. Holly rose a brow as she watched him. What was going on exactly with all the questioning, did something happen maybe? Guess she'd have to pry it out of him at this rate. "Er, ya, well..." Wasn't she just mentioning that. She hadn't told her death accounts to many at all but she didn't really die so there was no harm, right? "I saw, I'm not sure what it was really, there were children. Lots and lots of them. From the looks of it they were from Halloween but, er." It was still weird though. "They lacked color and couldn't see me at all." Not sure if that was a good or a bad thing. Holly was going to give him a moment and then grill him again for the her answer to why.

"Hmph." West crossed his arms and sat back. The two places didn't sound the same at all. "Well, that's jus'..." He glared at the toe of his boot, tapping his foot against nothing in particular. To tell her or not to tell her. Oh, screw it.

"So, yeah." He hesitated again, a large part of him unwilling to admit this weakness. But if he didn't tell someone, how was he going to fix things? How was he going to know? And it wasn't like he had to go into the blue fire thing or how that void had been the worst place ever. "B'fore everyone got there, Red killed me." Another pause, this one filled with thoughts of how he might have said lots of other people had died in order to make himself look less like a pansy. It was a massacre! But no, all Holly would have to do would be to ask someone who was there and she would know he had been lying. That would be worse. "I thought th'place I ended up mighta been th'one you were talkin'bout. But I didn't see kids at all." He shrugged. Maybe the blobs had been kids. He hadn't gotten a very good look at them, despite having spent what seemed like an eternity in that place. "I came back, too. An' you guys didn't 'til we got home. That 'hole place was... weird." Understatement? Yes.
PostPosted: Thu Dec 01, 2011 7:51 pm

Holly rose a brow as she looked at West. Just...? Was he actually going to say whatever it was that was bothering him. It wasn't that hard to tell something was up with the boil. At first it wasn't that obvious but the longer he'd stay in the NAP room the more bothered he looked. Holly sat up from her lounge of pillows when he finally started to talk. He died? Or, kind of died like the island for her. Was he that bothered with dying. She never thought much of it since she was technically dead but it was still a scary thought. Dying.

"Red killed just you? When we all got split up?" She felt bad for getting spit from the group now. She just had to disarm a trap while her friends were dying. Had it been Red Red or that weird monster Red she had seen.

So he was asking about the death since he wanted to compare. Compare to what? She had ended up on the island but it would have been odd for him to travel there when he died, well anything was possibly really. His last statement was true. Holly and the others had to wait until the trip was over to be revived. West had been at the Red fight when she got there. "Yeah it was weird for me too, kind of already dead myself so what could that place be." Really, could she die again? She was glad she didn't have to watch him die like he had her. That had been odd. "What did you see then, if it wasn't those kids?" Obviously he was comparing what she saw to something, but what.

"Well..." This promised to be even more embarrassing than admitting he had died in the first place had been. "I kinda hurt m'self a bunch before Red even hit me, I think. I got this punchy thing I can do ever since I fought Jingleberry again... it..." He made a punching motion with his hand while trying to think of how to describe it. He failed. "It hurts me and who I'm fightin'." It figured any FEAR ability he would gain would injure him as well as his opponent. West grinned, distracted by his tangent. "Anyway, y'should see it sometime. I'd used FEAR to try t'hit'er and then she breathed that blue fire..." He didn't shudder. Good. "I dun think anyone else died? I mean, she went crazier later, y'saw, an' a lotta people got it then, but yeah. Jus' me. His face darkened, but he wasn't truly angry. "'t's why I didn't wanna tell ya at all!"

He crossed his arms and shrugged, but continued speaking readily enough. "I saw... blobs? I mean I guess they coulda been kids, but they didn't look like any kids I've seen. Jus' blobs an' everyone else fightin'. The alive ones couldn't see or 'ear me, or if they could they were all really good at fakin'."
